Thumbnails turn black

$

0

I'm new to Pr Pro, having just used Pr Elements for several years.

I'm in the lower left panel (Proj Panel?) where I have imported my files and selected icon display.

When I move my cursor over one of these clips it immediately turns black.  There is a thin blue line at the bottom with a dark section that follows my scrubbing cursor, but the thumbnail remains black.

If I double-click on a thumbnail it opens, black, in the Source Monitor.  If I click on the black image in the Source Monitor the image appears and I am able to scrub through it.

And this is where it gets even more confusing.

If I return to the Proj monitor and hover over any icon it turns black.  If I double click any icon, not currently in the Source monitor, the image in the Source Monitor remains unchanged.

But this is not consistent.  Occasionally double-clicking an icon loads that file into the Source monitor, replacing the one that is there,  but I haven't been able to work out a consistent response, like when does it load a file and when does it not.

I've watched video tutorials and this doesn't happen to them.

Premiere adding weird glitches to all of my footage...

I've been having this problem where I'll start a Premiere Pro project, build it, play around with it, have absolutely no problems, save it, close it, and by the next time I reopen the project (most of the time the very next day) – all of my footage is glitchy. This is happening across all projects I am working on.

Here are some examples of the glitches during playback.

Screen Shot 2018-03-17 at 2.00.21 PM.pngScreen Shot 2018-03-17 at 2.00.33 PM.pngScreen Shot 2018-03-17 at 2.00.52 PM.png

When I reimport the footage back into the project and get rid of the glitchy footage, it's as if nothing happened. So it's not at all the footage itself. Something is happening between saving my files and reopening them. But if I just use this "reimport" method, the time it will take to go in individually and replace every single clip is about to be a nightmare and it doesn't actually prevent it from happening again the next time I open it up.

Has this happened to anybody before? I am absolutely desperate for solutions.

Renders the wrong portion of the video

I just recently subscribed to Premiere Pro CC and I am having issues. I am sure I am doing something wrong. I have been editing still photos for years, but just recently got into video after I got a drone for Christmas. I am editing footage from a phantom 4 Pro. I am editing in 4K  4096X2160 59.94fps The video is very choppy, so I created proxies, that seemed to work well, but the video renders to a different timecode than I chose. I am sure it has to do with the frame rates, I am so confused. I shot in slow motion, but I don't want all of it to be in slowmo. For example in the upper left panel in the editing tab, where I choose my in and out points, the playhead only goes about half the timeline.

This will do what I want, cause if I use the original footage @1/16 quality, I can choose the right in and out points, and render that and it is what I want, to include the time remapping. It's just dang near impossible to work with from all the stutters and jitters.

Thanks for any help on this, I have tried making cuneiform proxies and I get the same thing.

Premiere Pro H264 EXPORT ERROR. unable to compile movie

I have made a 30 min program and wish to embed the captions on it. The only file export that will do that is quictime. Upon exporting with h264 codec, premiere pro freezes and crashes and gives me an error stating cannot compile movie. Is there something wrong with adobe media encoder or what? I have adobe cloud so it should be up to date....any thoughts.Pre

Media Encoder causes Essential Graphics asset error

I created a custom .mogrt file in AE, and it loads fine in Premiere. However, it seems to 'lose' the background graphic asset that's built into the .mogrt file. It works sometimes, but then suddenly 'forgets' and instead of the embedded graphic (a .mov file), I get a static color bar slate, that persists through rendering.

I suspected it was a problem related to Media Encoder, as when I rendered straight from Premiere (i.e. command M, then Export) it worked fine. Only when I went to the Media Encoder queue did the errors start.

This is most frustrating, as I prefer to use the render queue to allow me to keep working in Premiere, rather than have to suspend editing just to wait for rendering to finish.

Hey Adobe! There's something in Media Encoder that 'breaks' Essential Graphics asset links. Please fix it!!!

I don’t believe this is a hardware issue. I’ve upgraded to a Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1.

im trying to export a 1 minute clip to my external hard drive and it’s going to take 3 hours...That’s ridiculous!

Hello,

I was trying to export my video when a H.264 error came up, Currently, I am trying to export through media encoder, but that is taking a long time. I will let you know if that works. Also, I am reluctant to try to change the BIOS as i am not experienced in that field. Is there any other way to fix this problem other than changing the BIOS and also other than what i have already done?

This is urgent

Adobe PremiereCC 2018 Audio no playback

Hi,

I recently updated Adobe Premiere CC to 2018 and the audio playback no longer works. I've tried all of the fixes but nothing works. This problem has me and everyone at my work stumped. We have over 100 licenses and a team of IT experts and none of them can work out how to fix this issue.

We've had to go back to 2017.

Why does Adobe release software without testing it first?

How does one organize clips in sequential order in Adobe Premiere Pro CC?

I import the clips and they are numerically numbered but appear in random clusters within 1 folder?

I do not wish to create bins, i want to see my footage in the order that i shot it in.

thanks!

Have tried troubleshooting from a couple of forum posts and nothing yet.

Any more details needed or any suggestions on the problem?

Many thanks for all suggestions.

CC 2017: An unknown error occurred while opening the project.

A couple days ago I spent all day editing a project. It's about 10 minutes long and consists of all iPhone videos - various frame rates and resolutions. It came out great and I closed the project for the night. The next day I came back and tried to open the project and after the loading bar completes, I get the error: An unknown error has occurred while opening the project. Other projects open normally. New projects open normally. But this one does not. I am so upset and frustrated about the lost work.

I went to my recent auto saves and they give me the same error. If I go way back in the auto saves, they will open normally but that was before many hours of additional work on the edit.

I made a new project and tried to import the old project and I get the error: The importer reported a generic error.

I used Media Browser to view the project and the window where I should see everything is blank, even after the loading bar finishes.

I used Project Repair from Digital Rebellion's Pro Maintenance Tools which thinks it has repaired the project, but I get the same error when trying to open it.

I used CS Repair from Digital Rebellion's Pro Maintenance Tools to trash Premiere preferences. No help either.

I googled the error message endlessly and although the same question has been asked, none of them got an answer.

Please advise.

Slow-mo and Stabilizer causing frame lag

$

I've nested my clip, after adding slow-motion and ramping it, and changing the time interpolation to 'Optical Flow'. I then added 5% warp stabilize, not much at all. I used 'Subspace Warp' for the method, and 'stabilize, crop, auto-scale' for the framing. The clip is of my friend doing a trick on his snowboard while jumping over me, so he's moving really fast through the air, and I am also  moving to keep him center frame on my fisheye lens, so, there's a lot of movement going on, thus why I need it to be stabilized. When I add the warp stabilizer, it looks like the shutter speed slows down and lags/clip looks jumpy, at the time when the clip ramps, while its at the slowest point, and then again as it ramps out back to full speed. I have no interest in compromising with my clip speed, or ramp positioning, I'd rather just not use warp stabilizer if that is my only solution. BUT if anyone has had this issue, and knows how to fix it, please let me know. I've done this process to a few clips, and it's been working fine after I render everything, but for some reason it's causing me problems on this one clip, maybe because there's so much quick movement. PS, the clip was filmed at 1080/60fps, so this is an adobe premeire issue, not an issue with shutter speed. Don't forget, I already used 'Optical flow' and this is still an issue!

Premiere Pro MP4 Import Bug

$

Hello,

My name is Spencer and I do advanced video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015. Recently I have gotten an error I have never faced before that won't let me import anything that is under the MP4 file format or has been changed from the MP4 file format.

Because MP4 is the most common video file format these days, I sort of need to be able to import MP4 files. I have tested other sorts of video file formats (ex, wmv, avi, etc..) and they have worked absolutely fine. I also am not able to export anything as an MP4 and if I open old prproj files with MP4 video files in them, it won't load them and say its "unavailable with this version of premiere" which is odd, because those were edited in premiere too. It's like it can't recognise the MP4 codec at all, my computer plays MP4 files absolutely fine and when I import MP4 files into a lower end video editor  *cough* Camtasia Studio 8*cough*, they seemed to work and render perfectly.

Also, whenever I load up a clean premiere pro project or saved premiere pro project, I get an error labelled "A low level exception occurred in: (Exporter)". I get four of these errors all at the same time. If you are interested in seeing these errors, I have screenshot them below.

Thank you and I hope this error can be resolved,

Spencer

cannot select options in menu after greying out, macos premiere pro

$

So this has been happening frequently for the past few months and I can't figure it out.

Many of the menu options grey out, and I can't use essential functions. The only way to fix it is to open another project, then close that one, and go back to the project I was originally working on. I've attached a screenshot of what the drop down menu options look like when this happens. Only the white functions can be selected, everything else just won't work. This happens to the vast majority of the options in all the menus (all the rendering options under "Sequence", etc.)

Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Text is cut in program monitor - Premiere Pro 2017

$

Hi,

When adding text in the new Adobe Premiere Pro 2017.1  the text gets cut in the program monitor.  It is as if there is a hidden safe zone, which cuts off everything  outside of the center.  If I use the old  "legacy title" tool, there is no problem.  Any way I can remove those "safety borders"  or whatever they are?   As you can see on the added frame grab the text is cut on the left and on the right.   If I move the text further to the left or right it gets cut off even more.

Thanks,  Per

Some of my proxy clips loses audio sync - why?

$

I am working with multiple cameras and proxies, having imported AVCHD sources from two cameras and mp4 from a third into separate folders.

It works so far fine, but for some reason a few of my clips lost sync on audio. When I check their original, no sync problems exist.

Proxies are made with GoPro and they, too, play back just fine and sync''ed when I locate the files on my harddrive.

But the clip in Premiere Pro CC 2018 has the sound descynced. Why? This is the 2nd project where I experience this, and I am not sure how to fix it.

Edit: I have cleaned out the media cache as explained in this post but it doesnt seem to help.

So, I delete the offending clip, and I try to ingest it again by locating it in the media browser. I make sure to open it in the source monitor to check it for sync problems. It plays back just fine.

So, Ingest! Now the clip works. But not with a proxy, I had to delete that.

On an expired Premiere trial when I pay?

Hey everyone,

I'm a paying subscriber and have been for 10 months now. I have access to all adobe apps and use Premiere Pro CC daily for my company. I'm signed into my account, my payments are up to date,  but now my creative cloud says my premiere pro trial is up and I can no longer access all of my work unless I buy the app. Which I have.. I click on the app and then it endlessly cycles through two separate load screens that get nothing done. I'm logged into my account but what I get is something that looks like I don't pay.

The computer I use is the latest mac that ran everything just fine a month ago. I've updated everything, logged out, changed passwords, re-installed, uninstalled again, deleted, and then again re-installed. Still with the same results.

This has stopped me from working on client projects for the last week and I've tried all that I can to fix it. I'm beyond upset at this, losing money/reputation, and have to get it remedied as soon as possible or I'll need to switch to another editing platform.

Sidenote: We should be able to call someone about this.
