Captions not updating

$

Hi, I'm working in the latest version of Premiere and set up some Open Captions as subtitles. When I duplicate a caption file in the project window and use a duplicate in the timeline, the captions don't update when I make ANY changes, such as writing a new text or adjust timings. After restarting Premiere, the captions update correctly. Seems some sort of cache issue. I have to set up a lot of captions, so restarting each time is not an option. Any tips? Thanks.

Hello,

We changed the motherboard in my computer, now whenever I open an existing job in Premiere I get this message, "The project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA), which is not available on this system.  Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used."   Please help, I have no clue to correct this issue and currently attempting to finish a wedding video.

Audio device stops working, play button no longer works.

Hey all, recently I noticed after a bit of working on a project my play button would stop working. It would force me to restart the program. After reinstalling cloud and PP, I noticed that the issue is with my ASIO device Komplete Audio 6. I have no issues with this audio interface outside of premiere and it is fully updated.

Anyone know how to diagnose why it crashes in Premiere after months of no issues? I also tried creating a new project and copying the sequences to the new project. There is only one audio source channel.

Playback choppy and constantly dropping frames, making editing very hard

Hi all,

I searched the forums beforehand and found this issue has been asked a lot, but each thread I read had no solution.

New PC. it's an i7, Windows 10 - 64-bit,  32Gb Ram, 26Gb of that is allocated to Premiere.

GTX1060 6Gb graphics card

Sequence is same settings as my footage. playback resolution dropped to 1/4 or 1/8 even. All effects disabled.

Yet when I hit space to play it back, it is very choppy. This is on all footage and I've always had the issue, just getting fed up with it.

Editing my first multi-camera sequence today and trying to switch between the cameras when the playback is so choppy is a nightmare.

What's the export settings to Facebook?

There's many export options in the media export dropdown list.  Which one is best for Facebook.  My video is 1920x1080.  29 frames.  I'd like people to see it full screen on their cell phones.

Proxies and Lumetri

I'm color grading with Lumetri on proxies, however, when I click the toggle icon to switch back to the orginal 4k resolution - the color changes! I'm happy that I can edit these 4k files... but its frustrating that I'm not able to color grade on the proxies because there is an obvious difference. When I toggle back to the orginal file, they look more yellow and warm then than how I graded it. Is anyone else running into this? Is there a way to get an accurate color representation without having to toggle back and forth between the proxy and original file?

Export 1080p for Facebook for minimal compression

I have a 1080p video I uploaded to facebook.  After about half a day worth of uploading, the results on facebook were atrocious.

It looked like an 8-color atari video, funny huh... well not really, literally.  I've actually never seen a look so bad in all of my facebook feeds.

I must be way off for export settings!

The original video was exported, optimized for YouTube settings.  Some literature I came across noted that anything optimized for YouTube, should be equally good for FaceBook.  I've not found that to be true.

The original video export from Premiere Pro CC was in mp4 format. It was approx. 7 minutes long and the total file size was approx. 800 MB.

The original media was 1080p video capture from a Canon 5D at 30 fps.

The main export settings used were (showing Video & Audio settings):

PP_Export-Settings-VIDEO.jpg

PP_Export-Settings-AUDIO.jpg

This is what I uploaded to facebook that looked like total poop.

I feel like I need to dumb it down in quality in order for facebook to minimize it's compression.

Is there some go-to export settings from Premiere Pro for best results on facebook?

It's odd that most peoples basic smartphone videos look 100x's better than a clean 1080p PP-CC export after facebook get's it's compressing hands on it!

Thanks!

Just updated my Premiere CC and the process still runs after I close the program/app.  Process continues to run at 1+ GB of RAM, and have to end the process in order to open the program/app again.  Any fixes for this on Windows 7?

Can premiere pro(latest version) create clips at frame rates >100 FPS?

$

Hello. I cannot find an answer in the forums that directly addresses my concerns.

I want to create a film clip at frame rates exceeding 100 frames per second.  I want to experiment with video effects.  I have a monitor, cables, and graphics card which supports (allegedly) up to 240 FPS (240hz).  Specifically, I have an nvidia geforce GTX 1080 which has g-sync, display port cables, and a new computer.  I used the nvidia control panel to set the hertz to 240.  The monitor is an alienware aw2518h. So far so good.  I managed to programmatically generate some high frame rate video but the frame rate randomly varies (drops under 200, sometimes goes above).  I want to get a good look at some high frame rate video, see what you can really do with it.  Is this there some way to set Adobe Premiere Pro so that while Premiere pro is playing back a video it really, really is at or above 100 fps (and reliably too).  As a followup question (if the answer to the 1st question is NO), can you export in Prem Pro to a video format that is 100+ fps(even if you can't get PP to do it internally, if that is the case)?  I would like a look at the future, when this capability becomes commonplace.  This question isn't about importing from high frame rate cameras or about changing speeds of a clip.

What happened to the Legacy Title Tool?

I just want to take a moment out of my busy day to thank all the bright light bulbs in Adobe Command Center who figured out that the most productive use of THEIR time was to totally crap up OUR TIME!

Thank you for taking away an easy, simple way to create titles in Premiere and replace it with TITLE HELL!

Seriously, whoever the superstar that came up with this idea should immediately apply for a Government position. I'm sure he (and it HAD to be a HE) will soon be Secretary of State or, perhaps, Secretary of Defense. I want this person in charge of all our nuclear weapons!

With everything ELSE that needs fixing in Adobe products, you choose titles? You're making Premiere almost as bad as Final Cut Pro. Hmmm...maybe that's Apple's new strategy? Infiltrate Adobe with programmers who will sabotage Premiere users and drive us to Final Cut?

Pretty cagey as I think about it!

Mod note: Title changed for search purposes

Updated assets not rendering, why?

Hi There,

I've encountered a strange issue where updated text in PSD files render an older version. The timeline is correct but the renders are incorrect - I've just re-rendred everything again (a day later) to confirm.

The weird thing is that the updated assets were overwritten so it's not like the old text exists in a file anywhere - so confusing (and frustrating) sorry.

Why doesn't Premiere use the actual assets in the job? Is there a way to force Premiere to use them?

Cheers

Ben

Thread Stuck in Device Driver - Blue Screen - Premiere Pro & Media Encoder

Occasionally I will get a blue screen on my PC, with the error THREAD STUCK IN DEVICE DRIVER. This error only occurs occasionally when I start up Premiere Pro, sometimes when I import new footage, and sometimes when I render footage by queuing it up in Media Encoder.

I decided to update my Windows last night, along with updating all the Adobe apps, and all my device drivers. Now today, yet again, I get the same error even after all the updates. No clue what the issue could be now. Anyone have any ideas? Attached is my DxDiag file which might be useful...

Premiere Pro CC: Audio cutting out during playback

$

I have had this issue for a while now and it's never been resolved.  I have looked on previous forums and none of the solutions work.  Adobe really upsets me as the forerunner of NLE's as it seems to always be unstable especially with playback.

Here are my specs:
BUILD:

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X 16-Core 3.40GHz

Asus ROG Poseidon - GTX 1080TI

Asus ROG STRIX X399-E MOBO

Corsair 4x8 D4 3333 RAM (32 GB)

500GB M.2 Samsung SSD

Drivers: All up to date

Premiere: Up to date

FOOTAGE:
Blackmagic Ursa Mini 4.6k Image Size: 4096x2304

Timeline Size: 1920 x 1080

FPS: 23.976

Audio: 48000 Hz - 24 bit - Stereo

Premiere Pro CC Version 12.1.2 (Build 69)

My computer has a lot of horsepower so I don't think that is the problem here.  My worries are hardware compatibility with Premiere.  The other problem that could be possible is that the Project Audio Format is 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo and the Source Audio is 48000 Hz - 24 bit - Stereo. However, I cannot find an option in sequence settings to change from 24 bit to 32 bit.

This problem seems like a long lasting one and most old posts have no solutions either; it's very frustrating and considering moving over to Davinci full time.  Anyone have a possible solution?

Premiere Pro - will not go

I have a little problem with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018. When I save the files under "Save as", the screen goes black, except for the top bar where it says "Adobe Pro cc 2018" and the next line says "file, edit, clip ending with help". I go into file and press "Open recent" premiere Pro shows up but lacks completion of timeline. I press the sequence icon and the clips show up again. I would like to start by hearing different clips, but I cannot. I press the triangle to start it nothing happens. I can shut down completely and start again and then works things. What's wrong and what can I do to make it work??????
