Poor performance: Premiere Pro CC 2019 13.0 (Mac)

Two of my systems are the latest Mac Pro (3.0GHz 8-Core. 64GB of RAM. 2 AMD FirePro D700s with 6GB of GDDR5 VRAM). Another system has 128GB of RAM and the Titan Xp with 12GB of GPU VRAM. All of my GPUs support Apple Metal GPU acceleration.

The slowest system I have is my laptop and if the issue was only with my laptop, the lack of 4GB of GPU VRAM might be the issue, but it's a problem on all the system I own.

As far as I can see, the issue I'm experiencing is not related to the hardware, as they all meet or exceed the system requirements.

Dragging/trimming without lag only when timeline minimised

Ever since I moved to Mac I've had a lag while dragging, trimming or doing anything in my timeline. Playback is fine. I've found a solution on the web back from 2011 In which when you make the timeline small - very small, the lag completely goes away [See Video!] Proving the problem isn't in my Macbook Pro but an Adobe bug. Please help! This is driving me nuts and I'm a moment from switching to Final Cut.

I'm running the latest CC (Had the same problem in previous versions) & latest MacOS. I'm a Premiere user for over 15 years so believe me I've tried all the obvious stuff.

Issue come and go depending on timeline size seen clearly in this screen recording:

My specs:

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)

2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Radeon Pro 560 4096 MB

Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Secondary screen: LG UltraFine 27-inch

NVIDIA hardware rendering engine (CUDA) no long works with Premiere Pro 2019/AME and NVIDIA (P6000)

Adobe says to download the most recent Nvidia drivers but Nvidia says my drivers (P6000) are up to date : result, I cannot use CUDA hardware rendering anymore in AME CC 2019 after installing Premiere 2019: how does one enable CUDA engine (as opposed to the software alternative)?

Renderer says : Choose Open CL or CUDA - but neither option is not available!

Can't drag downloaded essential graphics template onto timeline

I downloaded a few free stock templates from adobe for Premiere. I'm using the latest version. I've installed them so they show up in my essential graphics panel but I can't do anything with them. I can't drag them on my timeline, edit them nothing. I don't understand why I can drag the templates that come pre-installed but I can't drag these new ones on? What am I doing wrong?

Why does adjustment layer resize move clips I want to add to it.

Not a very clear description of my issue but want I am trying to do in the timeline is extend an adjustment layer over the top of the fllowing clip. When I try to do that the clip I am trying to include simply moves along so that the AL still ends just when the clip starts.

Is there an article or helpful video that explains the interaction between adjustment layers and clips so that I can work out how to get it to do what I need it to.

I also  have a problem with altering the length of audio clips on the timeline as it often says Trim Blocked on Video 1 even though the two are not linked as far as I can see.

Why is the audio extending and not in sync?

Project Window Stuck Off-Screen. Any ideas?

-- I'm running Premiere Pro CC 2018 on a macbook pro 15" running High Sierra 10.13.3 --

I had previously opened Premiere at home with my dual monitor setup. Now I'm on the road and when project opens the top windows are off-screen:

Screen Shot 2018-02-10 at 8.01.40 PM.png

When I select a different window arrangement, it gets worse:

Screen Shot 2018-02-10 at 8.02.05 PM.png

I can drag the bottom of the window and resize it but I can't get to the top to arrange it.

Screen Shot 2018-02-10 at 8.02.23 PM.png

Here's how I have attempted to fix it:

- Hooked up an additional monitor. When monitor is attached I can move windows, but the moment I unplug monitor, the windows go back to original off-screen position (no matter where I had placed them while add'l monitor was running).

- I uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere. Same problem as before.

- I restarted Premiere while holding the option key (to trash preferences). Problem still there.

- I created a new project. No change in problem.

Anybody have a good idea? Thanks!

Premiere imports .mp4 only as audio.

Hello!

I recently updated my premiere to v.12.1.1. and now have a issue where when i try to import video files (.mp4, shot on Sony a7sII), some of the files show up just as audio.

I tried to import through drag and drop, and the import window to no avail.

What seems random is that every time i tried to import again, the files that didn't work seemed to change, i.e. the same file could one time work and the second time not.

My computers specs:

Screen Shot 2018-05-03 at 13.43.23 (2).png

How the files look once imported:

Screen Shot 2018-05-03 at 13.47.28 (3).png

This is truly frustrating as there doesn't seem to be any clear-cut answer to what can be done about this anywhere, and I am working on a tight deadline with this project. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

My MP4 files are importing as audio only, please help.

Hello I'm experiencing difficulties importing my mp4 files from my sony a6300.

This has never been an issue in the past, today premiere pro decided that my mp4's have no video content and just appear as an audio file.

There are a select few that imported just fine but a mass majority of them are problematic.

Please let me know if you have a solution to this problem, thank you!

Preview of sequence timeline in program monitor goes blank

$

This has been happening for months now.... During an edit, the program monitor suddenly goes blank.  Nothing is shown as you scrub through any sequence timeline and the only way to restore it is to save my project and restart Premiere.  And because Premiere is so slow, that is a huge productivity killer.  It takes 2 minutes+ to save, close Premiere, restart it, load the project, and wait for Premiere to load all of the media.

I have noticed no patterns as to why and when this happens.  Sometimes after only a few minutes, and sometimes after an hour.... But in the last 2 days it's happened often.  I do suspect it's related to some interface bug with the CUDA graphics drivers, but I'm editing 5k footage so I can't afford to disable acceleration.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed.

My system is Windows 10 64 bit, i7 5960X CPU, 32gb RAM, Nvidia GTX1070, with a project on a 11tb RAID 0 drive, and 2 monitors (1 4k and 1 2.7k).

I called Adobe support (taking about 45 minutes) and the guy was convinced that a reset of my preferences would solve this problem (holding down ALT while restarting Premiere).  I saw no discernible change.  A restart does revive the program monitor, but then it dies at some random time later, regardless of a preference reset.

An alternate version of this problem is to have all effects control keyframes or motion bounding box graphics disappear.  This is equally frustrating when one is trying to use those tools and I'm forced to restart Premiere and reload the project to continue.

Any assistance in how to cure this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Premiere only imports Audio

Hey guys,

So i've seen this question a few times already since the last update but haven't seen any answers that work yet. Basically, Premiere only imports the audio for about 75% of my shots, the other 25% import fine. So far I have tried:

- Clearing the cache

- Converting the clips from .mov to .mp4

- Renaming the source folder

- Reinstalling Premiere Pro

- Dragging and going through file/import to import clips

The original clips I tried to import were .mov files shot on a Nikon D7100.  I then tried all of the above, and each time I re-tried to import clips a different few would work fine and the rest would only import audio. I also tried to import .mp4 files shot on Canon and that didn't work either. Here are my computer specs and my Premiere Pro version. I've been held up for about two weeks now with this problem and I've tried every fix I've come across online, please help! Thanks.

Timecodes within Premiere do not match up

$

Hi there. I'm tearing my hair out on this one.

On the attached screenshot you can see that my sequence is 24FPS, my footage is 24FPS (it's 16mm film and was shot and scanned at 24FPS)

The timecode on the Timecode panel and in the Timeline panel both show the same number: 05:16:18:18

Now look at the Program Monitor - I've put a timecode on using the Effects panel (at 24FPS) and it shows 05:16:17:18

It's a whole second out. Having done the maths, I don't think the Timecode in the effects panel is running at 24FPS even though it says it is - I think it's running at 23.97. Maybe I'm wrong but this is the only theory I have right now!

The issue is, when i go to export and embed Timecode - Premiere uses the same timecode as the Effects Panel does - i.e. I think maybe it's not 24FPS even though it says it is

Basically, Premiere is giving me two different timecodes for the same 24FPS options.

This is causing real issues with our sound designer.

Has anyone come across this - does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks so much in advance for your help

Major issue - audio keeps getting replaced by other sound tracks

$

So I reopen my project and now when i play my video, the sound of the interview has been replaced by a song and another segment by a sound of birds, etc. The same audio file from an interview is lagging and replaying as many different sounds making my project impossible to work with. I tried replacing my clip with the originial file, no changes. Whats strange is that depending on the time what plays is a different sound from the project. I just cant find the original interview sound back.

Audio i have edited on timeline doesn't match my exported file

Hello

I have a problem that is driving completely insane!! I have audio files that were recorded separately to my video and they are voiceovers in .WAV format. I edit them perfectly on my time line and when i export, the final product is different to the timeline in that the start or end of the audio speech is cut off. I look back on the timeline and its still perfect??? Is this something to do with my export or sequence settings???

Also, equally irritating, sometimes when i'm editing the start or end of the audio to perfectly start the speech, I finish it and literally two minutes later i can go back and it has automatically changed itself without me touching that track section whatsoever!!

Please please please help me find a solution some how??

Thanks

Dan

Premiere Pro CC2015.4 don't know Media Encoder!

Hello,

I have an Issue in Premiere Pro when I will Export Media and when I will Ingest Media for Proxys!

The Error Message is:

Ohne Titel.png

"Adobe Media Encoder is not installed. Download and install the application to use this feature. For more information see https: ...."

Installed is:

Premiere Pro 10.4.0.30

Media Encoder 10.4.0.26

All other Versions from Media Encoder / Premiere Pro CC2014,CC2015,CC2017,CC2019 works fine together and have not this Problem!

What is the Problem between PPro and AME?

Sending Clips from Premiere Pro CC2015.4 to AE and AU works fine and AME alone works fine to!

For Example, I can create Proxys in Media Encoder and can import and attached these in Premiere Pro.

But not from PPro via Ingest, then comes the Error Message.

And why are the CC2015.4 (2016) Versions from PPro and AME not listed in the Creative Cloud Desktop Manager like all other Versions ?

I have listed only CC2014, CC2015, CC2017, CC2018, CC2019, not CC2015.4.

The image is not reproduced neither in the origin monitor nor in the program monitor. However, you can export the sequence and you can watch the video perfectly once it is exported. How can i solve it?

Thanks.
