My 4K playback is choppy and usable and I'll get an eventual crash. When I hit the play button, it appears to be smooth for about half a second and then gets progressively choppy quickly. I've tried dropping the playback resolution and nothing seems to be working (even 1/8 resolution).
I have the latest version of Premiere Pro CC, I'm beginner level but I've done 6 or 7 projects now, first time attempting a 4K project, and I believe all my computer drivers are up-to-date.
Camera: Fuji XT3 shooting 4K @ 60p, MOV
Computer: Windows 10, i7 6700 @ 4GHz, GTX1080, 16GB RAM,
I'm running Premiere Pro CC and my files on my main SSD drive, not from an external drive.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm new'ish to Premiere so please dumb down any advice
I was having a problem with renders not connecting. Adobe tech support helped me change
from software only to CPU acceleration. Problem fixed. But now I am getting a black frame
at the end of any shot I have the warp stabilizer on. Are these related? Any thoughts?
Just unboxed a new iMac Pro this afternoon and was testing it out and while I have the option to export to H.265, it just freezes at 0-percent, regardless of if I do it within Premiere or if I send it over to Encoder. H.264 works fine but that kind of defeats the point when I like to use 265 because of better file size. It was working just fine on my old Mac Pro as of yesterday. I even downgraded to version 13.0 from 13.1 or 13.0.1 or whatever the new one was.
Any suggestions or known bugs?
I'm having the same issue with a Title template, I want to use the "Orange Sherbet" left and right and I'm unable to drag either of them into my timeline.
I'm running the version Premiere Pro CC v12.1.2 Kentos.
Please help, I'm going crazy!
I'm experiencing the same issue when trying to import a free adobe template (FILE #: 229438152) or really any of the predefined templates. I have a video for you to review. I've updated my application to the latest version, 13.0.2. Disclaimer -- this is the first time I've ever attempted to work in Premiere -- I completed the learning tutorials and watched a few youtube videos to get me here.
I'm having the same problem, but my Premiere is updated. I'm unable to drag motion graphics templates from the essential graphics panel to my timeline. And it isn't just the templates I've installed - I can't drag any onto the timeline from the panel. I can still drag video and audio clips onto the timeline but can't add motion graphics. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
When typing a file name in the search field and hitting enter, I get a resulting Project Panel with no media, as in no results. I intentionally searched a file I know is there. Anyone else getting this? I'm getting it no matter what I search for. In this example I search for DFLM0637 which is in the Choir Tour bin as seen in the pics. Pic 1 is showing that the file IS indeed there - DFLM0637.MOV Pic 2 is me having typed that file in the search field, before hitting enter. Pic 3 is my result.
Thanks for any advice.
And the result:
Hi all, I edit video on Premiere Pro CC 2018 (latest version, I have autoupdates on) to make proxies (Quicktime Prores 422 @ 1280x720) from my 4k Prores422HQ files (which are taken from my Atomos Shogun via my A7s), they play back no problem with "play proxies checked" on full playback resolution. Then I do the same with my Phantom 4 pro 4k mp4 files and the proxies are super choppy both at full playback res and down to 1/8 playback res. Sometimes when I begin editing they play ok-ish, but after hours of editing the playback slows to a crawl. I'm using an iMac (27-inch, Late 2012) with 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5 (quad core), 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX card with1024 MB video ram. I boot off of a 5400 rpm external USB bus-powered drive since the internal hard drive is toast, but that hasn't caused problems with other kinds of footage. Just the drone footage. I'm editing off of a separate external USB bus-powered drive, also 5400 rpm.
I wonder what the bottleneck is? Is it the computer or the hard drive? Should I get a raid system? Is there a connection between how long I'm working at my computer and how choppy the playback is? (Well, there definitely is ... I just want to know WHY)
I have 29gb of my 32gb of available RAM set for Premiere and no other programs running, except Chrome sometimes.
It's really messing with my ability to properly scrub through and edit 4k drone proxies, let alone the real 4k drone files (which basically look like stills when I hit play.)
Help! Need to finish this edit ASAP! Any answers out there?
I am running Premiere Pro 2017.1, and have a project that originated in the 2015 version.
I have a sequence full of Sony XACV 4K footage (4096 x 2160) running on a 2013 Macbook Pro. However, realtime performance is terrible - I cannot playback smoothly in 4K or even 1080.
Proxy workflow looked as though it could be the answer - so I have transcoded all my media under the 1024 x 540 ProRes Proxy preset. However when I try to play back my sequence, Premiere is still not using the proxies.
They are all attached in the project window. The global proxies are enabled under settings, and the blue 'toggle proxies' button has been checked.
Dragging in one of the proxy files into its own native sequence plays back smoothly - the problem seems to be Premiere just isn't using them. What am I missing?
Hi there, everyone. I recently built a new PC and have been having a lot of trouble with Premiere on it since. The specs are:
ASRock Z390 Extreme4
Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti Founder's Edition
Windows 10 Pro
EDIT: Here's the storage information, if that's helpful at all.
Samsung 970 EVO 256gb M.2 SSD (where Premiere is installed)
Samsung 860 EVO 500gb SATA SSD (where the cache files are)
Internal WD 8TB HDD
External Seagate 8TB
The program (both the current version, 13.0.1, the base v13 release, and also 12.1.2) will launch and be completely functional for 1-3 minutes, and then crash without any type of warning. I've rolled back graphics drivers, reinstalled, run the Adobe Cleaner tool, disabled the Nvidia display adapter, and every other fix I could find. The closest I got to actual stable use was disabling the Nvidia display adapter (on a rolled back driver), and not using multiple displays. The app would run fine on my main display, but the second any activity, in Premiere or otherwise, happened on one of the other two displays, Premiere would become unresponsive and crash.
I've contacted Adobe support, and spent close to an hour and a half on the phone with a representative, who did almost everything I had previously done. He was able to get Premiere running stably enough in Windows Safe Mode, but with two of my three displays physically disconnected and on a rolled back display adapter driver, which is not an ideal situation to be in when I have to do work.
The event manager seems to link this to something with the REDR3D-x64.dll module, but I don't know if that's true or not. Here's the error report that Windows shows:

I'm at a loss for what to do here, as nothing seems to be working. I'd love to get some help and see what's going on, or if anybody else has had a similar situation, because I have deadlines to meet and projects to finish, and it's very frustrating to have this happen, even on an earlier version of Premiere. Media Encoder has also been crashing when I try to import Premiere sequences, although I don't know if that's relevant to this issue or not.
Thank you to anyone who can help. This is a super frustrating problem and I'd love to get some assistance on it.
Premiere 13 has been exporting broken XMLs that don't work in Premiere 12 or Resolve. I finally figured out why: look at the source window monitor on the left (Premiere 12) and on the right (Premiere 13). 10 seconds and some frames off. Resolve lines up with Premiere 12's timecode.
Everything was fine yesterday with all the color options and small caps options etc etc when I open the legacy titler, but when I continued with my project today, none of the options mentioned above are available to me, which makes it hard for me to continue my project, help pls! ><

Hi, has anyone also problems after switching to premiere 2019 with a cuda graphic card? I have the geforce gt 750 ti and it works great using premiere 2018, but cuda is not working anymore after the update to 2019.
Mercury Playback engine GPU acceleration (CUDA) doesn't work / isn't available in PP CC 2019 version.
Luckily, I've learned my lesson and kept previous version this time (2018) in which the Mercury Playback engine GPU acceleration (CUDA) was and still is available every time.
Intel Core I7-5930K @ 3.5 ghz

Hi I'm new there, I have a problem when I preview my rush. It's just a regular time lapse but I sstill cannot preview it without problems in 1/4 and the color line is yellow.
Moreover , I can't separately render it which is horrible for every yellow time lapses I can't render it it's doing the same as when I'm just playing it with the preview. This is only working for red lines videos.
Please help me.
I have 16 GB RAM
Since I've started editing 360° panoramas into VR movie clips in Adobe Premiere I've had this problem: In editing mode (in the vr mode) the nadir and zenith looked fine. But after I export the clip I get this swirl distortion on the bottom and on the top. Do you know how this happens and how I could avoid it?
Recently, after years of using Premiere fluently, my system is no longer able to use the Essential Graphics panel. I'm running Premiere CC 2018 on Mac OS X High Sierra (10.13.6)
No matter which template I select from Essential Graphics, when I attempt to drag and drop it onto a video track (all unlocked) on the timeline, my cursor icon shows the hand with a circle / slash through it and will not add the clip.
It doesn't matter what template I use, none of them work. If I make a brand new fresh project, Essential Graphics still fails to work. I really don't think this has anything whatsoever to do with my project or sequence.
This is a recent development, after more than a year of using the Essential Graphics panel on a regular basis.
The only clue I have is that I did install Premiere Pro CC 2019 when it first came out, found I couldn't use it, and uninstalled it using Adobe's supplied Uninstaller, then have continued in 2018.
When I switch between the 'Editing' workspace and other workspaces, particularly the 'Graphics' or 'Color' workspaces, my mouse cursor often disappears. The mouse continues to work and be visible in other programs, however whilst hovering over any Adobe Premiere window the mouse cursor is not visible. I can still click on things within the Premiere Pro window, however I have no idea where the mouse cursor is, so it makes using the program impossible.
To fix, I have to restart Premiere Pro reload the project. Really slows down the workflow when you're having to restart the program 20 odd times a day.
Any ideas to fix?
I'm recording videos with OBS under the same settings for some time.
After that last premiere update the sound tracks of one recording don't import correctly. The others work fine.
I get 2 tracks which are identical instead of the 2 different ones. Hardware settings still seem okay.
