13.0.2 Slow Playback

Ever since upgrading to 13.0.2, playback of 4K ProRes video files has been extremely slow - stuttering.  Reverted to 13.0.1 and all is normal.  Haven't tested on non-ProRes footage yet.

Premiere Pro 2019 (and 2018) crashing repeatedly on PC

$

Hi there, everyone. I recently built a new PC and have been having a lot of trouble with Premiere on it since. The specs are:

Intel 8700K

ASRock Z390 Extreme4

32GB RAM

Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti Founder's Edition

Windows 10 Pro

EDIT: Here's the storage information, if that's helpful at all.

Samsung 970 EVO 256gb M.2 SSD (where Premiere is installed)

Samsung 860 EVO 500gb SATA SSD (where the cache files are)

     Internal WD 8TB HDD

     External Seagate 8TB

The program (both the current version, 13.0.1, the base v13 release, and also 12.1.2) will launch and be completely functional for 1-3 minutes, and then crash without any type of warning. I've rolled back graphics drivers, reinstalled, run the Adobe Cleaner tool, disabled the Nvidia display adapter, and every other fix I could find. The closest I got to actual stable use was disabling the Nvidia display adapter (on a rolled back driver), and not using multiple displays. The app would run fine on my main display, but the second any activity, in Premiere or otherwise, happened on one of the other two displays, Premiere would become unresponsive and crash.

I've contacted Adobe support, and spent close to an hour and a half on the phone with a representative, who did almost everything I had previously done. He was able to get Premiere running stably enough in Windows Safe Mode, but with two of my three displays physically disconnected and on a rolled back display adapter driver, which is not an ideal situation to be in when I have to do work.

The event manager seems to link this to something with the REDR3D-x64.dll module, but I don't know if that's true or not. Here's the error report that Windows shows:

Faulting application name: Adobe Premiere Pro.exe, version: 13.0.1.13, time stamp: 0x5bd2cef7

I'm at a loss for what to do here, as nothing seems to be working. I'd love to get some help and see what's going on, or if anybody else has had a similar situation, because I have deadlines to meet and projects to finish, and it's very frustrating to have this happen, even on an earlier version of Premiere. Media Encoder has also been crashing when I try to import Premiere sequences, although I don't know if that's relevant to this issue or not.

Thank you to anyone who can help. This is a super frustrating problem and I'd love to get some assistance on it.

Premiere Pro CC 2019 is putting a weird grainy, blue outline around my .mov files that are from After Effects

I just got a new computer and when I installed Adobe CC onto it, it updated to the 2019 versions. That's fine, but now when I open up files from my old projects there is this gross blue outline around any .mov animation that I made in After Effects. I usually only render alpha channels in AE and then can move the animated objects around the Premiere file. Also whenever I have one of those animations fade in or so any sort of movement instead of fading normally a blue solid of the fade appears and then it turns into the color its supposed to. I've attached a few images as an example of what I'm talking about. You can see the fading issue in the gif I posted. The house on the right is supposed to fade in after the outline is done to fill the color, but instead, it just pops in blue then turns white. Anyone else having this problem or know what is going on? Thanks!

It may be a little tricky to see at first but if you zoom in or look at the words which I typed in Premiere and are not exported then imported in there is a clear difference in the outline of these images. Mainly that the words don't have them and the animations do and it looks terrible.

Exporting / Encoding fails

I will bullet list the issue so it will be easier to follow:

- i7-6770k, gtx1070, 32GB DDR4, atx gaming board, latest version of Premiere, Nvidia card has been updated (had too, premiere would not run without it) win10.

- I have exported my videos the same for about 12-13 months. 1920x1080 60fps 18-20Mbps. Never had a problem.

- Two videos ago, I had an issue that it was failing to export a certain area (time line) of my video. As I continued it was a random location everytime. After 20+ minutes and a dozen fails, I decided to export just 2 minutes. It worked fine. I then exported the entire thing, the same way, and it worked.

- One video ago. No issues.

- This video, it continues to tell me it can't encode / render a certain area of the video. I export a small segment, it worked. I tried to do the entire thing again and it is telling me the same thing. A random location can't be encoded / rendered. I removed that area, and tried again... it then tells me again, another random location, a different clip all together can't be rendered.

- I open up my last video, and export it again. It fails telling me again it's a part in the video it can't encode. Just last week it exported just fine.

So I imagine you can see my frustration at this point... has anyone else encountered these problems? Can I get some assistance because Adobe does not provide any help whatsoever.

Thank you in advance.

Encoding / Render Errors... again

Once again I am getting rendering / encoding issues. They are really bad this time. I can't render any video at this point, it keeps kicking out the error compiling video (see below) - The biggest issue is that it is giving me errors for a timestamp that does not exist!!! (also see below)

Video editing: add backgroung pictures subtitles, remove audio, record shared screen, etc.

Hello! Here below are my six questions or concerns that I couldn't figured out by myself on Adobe. I know that they should be done by using Premiere, After Effects, and Audition. If you could indicate not just the app, but above all the right functions to use to click on the drop-down menu in the right app, it would be excellent for me. I could figured the app, but once I'm in the app, I have no idea of what to do and where to click.
1. Change video background not with just a unique color, but possibly with a dynamic background with a low volume background music even when I’m talking (for example: a moving ocean).

2. Add pictures into a video (while I talk in the video, I’d like to show pictures of what I’m saying).

3. Add subtitles into a video (I speak English in the video, and I’d like to add subtitles in English in case someone doesn’t understand my pronunciation. Is there a button to add them automatically like in YouTube, or do you have to type in all of my talking?)

4. Add low volume background music even when I’m talking

5. Remove audio from a video and add my audio (of me talking) to the same exact video.

6. Record a video of my shared pc screen and my talking, while I show something on my pc.

Thanks!

Audio Track Effects workarounds

$

For several years, users like me have been looking for a way to copy and paste audio track effects.  Almost every project I edit has voice tracks that need sweetening or sound effects that need some reverb to make them match the environment.  I edit hundreds of sequences a year and every time, I have to start from scratch adding EQ, voice enhancements, limiter and adjusting all of those parameters by hand.

I don't understand why this simple feature has never been addressed.

I have 2 workarounds I'd like to share and wondered if anyone else has a suggestion ...

1. Build a template sequence with commonly used effects and settings applied to the audio track mixer, then always start a project by importing the template sequence.  (Drawback is that the template can't anticipate how many tracks of each you will need)

2. Take a snapshot of the UI so that at least you can use it for reference when applying all those settings from scratch.

Does anyone else have a suggestion?  Or a friend at Adobe you can bribe to add the feature?

Premiere Pro CC (2017) crashes at export

Hello

I've just started a Premiere Pro trial a few days ago and edited a video which I'm unable to export.

The export fails over and over again for the most part at the same point (34%..) The error code is 1609629690.

I'm using a Surface Pro 3 Core i5 running Windows 10. I tried to export at least 30 times with no success while changing parameters etc. As part of the mitigation I tried the following steps: Restarted my Surface Pro, rendered smaller segments in order to identify segments that may be causing this issue, removed suspicious still photos, tried different output types and tried to export based on previews.

I've worked with other editing software before and never had these problems.

Would appreciate any advice.

Hello everybody,

if i insert a multIcamera clip in my timeline it shows up with two tracks in v1 and v2 (like the original multicam sequence if you double click with alt)

But i just want to insert and have both clips in one.

If i make a new sequence out of my multicam, it shows up in the right way - as an normal multicamera clip.

Does anybody know how to handle that problem?

Thanks a lot

Toggle full screen not working randomly....

$

Has anyone ever bumped into a problem where you bought a new monitor and connected it fine via HDMI. It works great outside of the app etc, but then, for some reason, inside Premiere the "toggle full screen" (mapped on my interface to "Command+F") won't function in a specific project any longer (I've opened other projects with same sequence settings etc and it works fine in other projects, but not the one I need it to currently.) I started a new project and (via the media browser) moved some test stuff from my main project into that one and still it will not allow me to toggle between main interface and full screen modes . It will let me match frame and full screen view from the source window but not within the sequence in the program window...

and once I try to toggle full screen, it wont really play back at all, regardless of the size....

When I go to the Playback settings and set it up to be full screen permanently, it plays fine. But that means utilizing the mouse every time I need to access my bins or the effect controls or whatever...and I ain't got time for that —.

I am a toggling guy.  can anyone help me toggle.....?

Also, would anyone advise against updating to 2018? in the middle of a big project???? would it solve the issue? currently on 2017 v1.2 ....

Im hesitant to download the latest version because I am mid way through a doc. edit with a ton of different kinds of footage....

can anyone help?

Proxy files won't stay attached, re-attaching everyday!

Hi,

Here is my workflow.  All of my original 4K A7s II footage is on an external drive and sits in the same folder.  I've made Proxy files with Premiere and those files sit on another external drive in its own folder.  I attached the proxies using right-click then Proxy>Attach Proxies>then found the folder>hit search to confirm the files, then once found hit the OK button.  It takes a couple of minutes and then everything attaches and the footage plays smoothly.

At the end of the day I SAVE AS the project and re-name it to today's date as a back up.  No folders or drives change names or locations.

The next day, the Proxy files are not attached and I have to attach them everyday.  So my question is, every time I save the project and rename it to today's date, does it un-attach the proxy files?  Or am I missing something?

Thanks.

Text is cut in program monitor - Premiere Pro 2017

Hi,

When adding text in the new Adobe Premiere Pro 2017.1  the text gets cut in the program monitor.  It is as if there is a hidden safe zone, which cuts off everything  outside of the center.  If I use the old  "legacy title" tool, there is no problem.  Any way I can remove those "safety borders"  or whatever they are?   As you can see on the added frame grab the text is cut on the left and on the right.   If I move the text further to the left or right it gets cut off even more.

Thanks,  Per

mp3 files playback with some sort of distortion.

So I've just started editing with Premiere Pro and last night I was cutting some stuff together and it was set to an mp3 I downloaded. Everything was dandy last night but this morning when I came back, the mp3 wasn't playing back properly.

If I play the file in VLC or in Windows Media Player it plays fine, but in Premiere Pro and Audition (as well as the Groove Player on Windows 10) it seems to have some sort of distortion or an auto filter, like you would in Ableton or something similar.

I've tried it with other mp3s and no luck. I couldn't find any other posts about this. Please help me.

When importing transition presets and dragging them onto my desired clip, it automatically zooms the clip in entirely. Example: I am using a smooth slide transition and placed it in between two clips, once done it will automatically zoom the first clip in entirely on its own and the transition won’t be there. How do I fix this?

Please excuse my lack of knowledg, I am very new to this. Thank you in advanc!

Hello everyine I hav e a little problem.

Everytime I add a mask I can't see its edges. The mask works fine and I can resize it, rotate it and do whatever I want but I cant see the path around it so it's not very easy to work on it.

Is there any shortcut I don't know that I can use? Some button to toggle the visibility of the path on and off? Is it a bug? I did the update to cc 2017 yesterday I don't know if that could be the reason.

Thank you in advance for your help.
