When I increase speed clip to 300% - the clip turns gray

0
0

I'm using GoPro-clips for a project. However, when I speed sections of the clips up to 300% they turn gray-ish (slightly darker with less contrast). Time interpolation is set to "frame sampling". The problem shows up both while editing and after export.

I'm running Premiere Pro CC 2019 (v 13.0.2) on Win 10 on a Lenovo T520 Laptop. (Previously I ran v 12.0.2. with the same result.
A colleque testet the GoPro-clip with Premiere Pro on a Mac and did not encounter the same problem. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything similar.
I hope someone can help with a solution.

Thank you for any help.

Weird trouble PP CC 2019

So since a couple of weeks i'm experiencing troubles with the suite CC.
Almost all programs(Ps, media encoder, Pr, Ae) start to become unstable and have weird symptoms.
Sometimes i can't open JPEG/PNG in photoshop because it tells me its not a JPEG/PNG... while Lr can.
But then Pr is worse ! video's don't play audio right sometimes the audio is even made up, also masks from text show black or darkend on the video.
Adjustment layers switch on or off while they just overlay not changing, also sometimes clips start when the curser didn't reach the clips.
And some other weird things.... for me the suite is useless ATM i can't work on anything or trust it a bit.
Really bummed by this can someone please help me out !

Things i did:
De/Re-install the programs,
Delete preferences,
Delete cache,
Rename the files for Ps. it worked sometimes,
Rename the video worked one time for Pr.

wrong timecode essential graphic when i upgrade to master graphic

Hi guys! i found an issue when i simply do the "upgrade to master graphic" on my text animation. Here's my workflow:

On my timeline i start to write text and shapes. Then i start to animate it. When i'm ready i save it to my personal library as backup. Everything works well. But, if i need to upgrade this essential graphic to master graphic on my project, i found a big issue on timecode: for example, my essential graphic it's five 5 seconds long. When i upgrade to master graphic, this new "shape" clip it's 12 hours long, and my animation starts at 1 hour following timecode. This is the first issue, and last but not least, if i do double click to this new clip on my project, it open correctly to the preview monitor with IN OUT points from 1 hour to 1 hour and 5 seconds. After that if i put this to my timeline, the timecode clip portion starts to 2 hours, so my clip it's black. If i re-do this drag and drop, the shape's timecode starts at 3 hours.

If if delete from my preview monitor IN OUT points and i put only my OUT point at 5 seconds from start, from 00.00.00.00, on my preview monitor i see nothing, all black screen, but if do drag and drop on my timeline, i see correctly my good animation. What's wrong? Is it a bug or i have to ceck some preferences on graphic essentils panel?

Many thanks!!!

2019 Update Extremely Slow and Unusable

0
0

I just upgraded to 2019 (13.0.1) from 2018 (12.1.2) on 11/2. I have opened and converted two projects in progress in 2019. In both projects, all parts of the editing process have become nearly impossible when working in 2019 vs when I was working on them in 2018.

The projects are 1920x1080 23.97 using ProRes 422 footage files of the same size and FR—not proxies. There are also dynamically linked After Effects comps. In several places, those comps are layered on top of the footage and each other and sometimes use the multiply and screen blend modes. I am also using the morph cut and cross dissolve effects on the footage and the tint effect on some of the AE comps.

Before, I could scrub and play through the footage without an issue in real time. At worse, when I had several CC apps opened the footage would drop to 1/2 res. Un-rendered motion graphics would playback with dropped frames but once rendered played back in real time. Rendering was fast and exporting both from within Premiere and with AME was also fast. The one project had a TRT of 6:27 and rendered from AME in about 8-10 minutes.

Now, in 2019, I cannot scrub through the footage at all, even with it forced to 1/4 res. It takes several seconds for the current frame under the playhead to display whenever the position of it is changed.

I cannot play the project back smoothly. When I hit the spacebar to play portions of the project that are footage only (no MoG), Premiere will play a couple seconds but there are tons of dropped frames and it will only play so much before the video stops and only audio plays. At that point, it will often grind to a complete halt after a few more seconds. I cannot playback un-rendered motion graphics at all—it won't even attempt it! Even rendered sections playback in the same choppy manner as the parts that are strictly footage.

Rendering within Premiere and in the new version of AME have also become unbearably long. Hitting return to render the project used to take minutes for several hundred frames of MoG and now I have no idea how long it takes because I let it sit for an hour and it had complete 30-some frames. The project I mentioned before that rendered from AME in about 8-10 minutes took that long just to get to 1% and at that point, the estimated time to finish calculator climbed until it read over 9 hours. I let it go for another half hour until it had reached 2% and canceled the render. Just opening the project in AME and changing the render settings takes 2-3 times as long now.

The dynamically linked After Effects comps are also problematic. If I make a change in AE, the change used to show up nearly instantaneously in 2018. Now, it takes several minutes or it will just show the media pending placeholder. Changing editable text fields for AE comps from within PR also used to be instantaneous but now takes upwards of a minute to show in the program monitor once I commit the change.

Double-clicking in the project pane and opening the After Effects file to import a comp also takes forever. First, it takes several minutes to populate the top-level folders of the AE project in the import window. Then, it takes several more minutes to populate the comps when I drill down into one of the folders. This process used to happen immediately in 2018.

I am having similar performance issues in After Effects including rendering both inside AE and in AME so although I tried exporting my comps as footage clips the renders were taking so long I canceled them.

I have tried using all three rendering engines (software, Metal and OpenCL) for both AME and in Premiere's project settings as well as restarting, clearing caches and deleting preview files. Nothing changes.

I am working on a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018):

macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (I am unable to upgrade to Mojave due to our IT dept and enterprise security apps)

2.9 GHz i9

32 GB memory

4 GB Radeon Pro 560X

1 TB SSD (OS and apps)

1 TB Samsung T5 external SSD directly connected without adapters (project files)

This thing is a monster and so far has handled everything I can throw at it...until now. So, I don't think it is the computer at all. I am up against deadlines and lost a lot of time screwing about with 2019. Luckily, I hadn't made any significant time-consuming changes and rolled back to 2018 and finished the projects there.

I know there are several existing threads about similar performance and stability issues but this seems to be a wide-spread issue that isn't getting enough attention from Adobe. I am going to keep using 2018 and hopefully, anyone who sees this post or any of the other threads thinks twice about upgrading or at least leaves the 2018 apps installed and doesn't test out 2019 with any critical projects! Don't be an overly-excited early adopter like me!

P.S. I haven't had any of these issues with Lightroom Classic, PS, AI or AU. Only PR, AE and AME. Granted, I spend the vast majority of my time in the video apps and only use the other apps for quick tasks to support the editing process and I haven't any large batches of raw files in LR since upgrading.

Not able to do Hardware encoding using my new GTX 2080

Adobe does not have a solution to this problem yet it is prevalent on the internet as a technical support issue I called Adobe San Jose and they wouldn't even bother taking my complaint customer service sucks

I was on the phone for 1 and 1/2 hours today trying to resolve the issue with Premiere Pro 2018 Creative Cloud and my NVIDIA GTX 2080. Technical support in India could not find a solution why I am not able to do Hardware encoding using my new GTX 2080 top-of-the-line graphics card they kept passing the buck and finally after an hour and a half I got frustrated and reminded him that I half hour ago I'd ask for him to escalate the call. Bottom line is Adobe tech support overseas does not have a solution to Premiere Pro Creative Cloud 2018 software encoding being the default my GTX 2080 is a hardware encoding option with Cuda bottom line is Adobe really sucks big time for technical support and when I called Adobe head office in San Jose at 408-536-6000 they said they have nobody there that could filled my complaint for lack of technical support Adobe you suck big time I sold and installed your product for years what a disappointment you are disgusting that your technical service is so low that I can't even get an answer to questions which by the way are showing on Google go ahead and Google search Premiere Pro CC 2018 Cuda hardware and software only acceleration there's tons of complaints come on Adobe get off your *** give some support to your paying customers.

Problem importing Quicktime file created by screen record in Mojave

I've recently discovered the Screen Record function in macOS Mojave (Shift + Command + 5).

This creates a Quicktime .MOV file.

However, when I try to import into Premiere Pro I get the following message: File Import Failure. We were unable to open the file on disc.

Any ideas how to get around this please?

Dynamic Link issue

In my Premiere Pro project I use a lot of After Effect files to get titels, this by using Dynamic Link. (importing the AE workfile and using the selected comp)

Since the update to 2019 when I use this, it does not only chance the text in the effectspanel but it also changes the font. (for example, I would use the font Impact and it gets changed to Times New Roman)

Is there any way it only changes the content instead of the font.

It always worked perfectly in 2018, but since this does not work in 2019 I am forced to use 2018 instead of 2019.

Help! Proxy files are huge.

Hi,

I'm new to Premiere and a problem with Proxys is driving me insane.

When I convert my video files to Proxys the Proxy files are 10x the size of the original files.

I'm mostly working with .avi or .mp4 files 3/4gig in size. Because my machine is old i want to convert these to smaller Proxy files.

However when I convert them I end up with a 24gig Proxy file!

I have tried using GoPro Cineform with the quility turned down to one and the resolution at around 1280(I've tried various resolutions)

I've also tried the ProRes 4:2:2 preset with the same resulting massive proxys files.

Even if I test something simple like a 7mb rip from youtube the Prozy file ends up at 23mb.

I've created Proxys from files like these countless times in FCPX without any issues so I don't think the files are the problem.

I'm obviously doing something wrong but I can't figure it out.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm working on the latest version of Premiere Pro CC

Ingesting/creating proxys for multiple aspect ratio+frame rates

0
0

Hi all,

I'm currently editing a project with dozens of video files with different frame rates and aspect ratios.

To convert these files into proxys I'm creating an encoding and ingest preset for each unique frame rate/aspect ratio setting.

Obviously, this is a pain in the ***.

But when I try to set my pro res or cineform encoding presets to "match source" I get an error message saying that's not possible.

Am I missing something? Is there a a way to create a prores or cineform preset that will match the source the aspect ratio and frame rate(or better yet convert to the frame rate of my project)?

Thanks in advance.

best format for high quality images/graphics

Hello,

I have someone I've hired to make a graphic in Photoshop for my film title which I will be importing in premiere. The person sent me a .jpg image and it's 1,000 x 1,000 pixels. Yet it's blurry in both premiere in Photoshop on my computer. What is the best file format for graphics? It's part image/vector shapes etc. Should I be asking for a .tif uncompressed file or something else?

Thanks,

Bryce

AE Comps imported into PP via Dynamic Link - Originals work, copies are broken

I have made several titles and Lower Third templates in After Effects. I've imported the comp into PP via Adobe Dynamic Link, and over the course of the project, have copied this comp several times for different lower thirds. I am using three different comps from AE.

After upgrading to PP2019, the original comp that I imported works just fine, but all of the copies of that comp say, "Media Pending."

Re-ordering audio effects in Track Mixer???

Hi this has bugged me for ages. Is there any way to re-order the effects you add in the slots on audio Track Mixer in Premiere Pro CC 2019? Sometimes I really need to move an effect to a lower slot and I can't do it without clearing the slot and then reloading the plugin on another slot. It would be much easier to just  press ctrl and slide the slots to switch or move the plugin. Please help

Problem with playing video/audio in Premiere Pro

Need help figuring out how to fix this problem! I can't get any videos to play in any of the Premiere Pro windows, even though a couple of days ago it was fine!

In the screen recording you'll see that the only thing that turns up in the Source window is audio, though no audio actually plays. Then when I try to play the videos, the audio image still appears. I try playing in all the windows and get nothing. It's really stressing me out!

I've tried the rendering thing that most forums suggest, but nothing changes. I started and restarted a dozen times... The only thing that has changed in the past few days is that I updated to MacOS Mojave (version 10.14), so if there's anything else I can do please let me know!
