RT/Tensor Cores and the future of Pr, AE, Ps ...

0
0

Hey Im planning on building  my new workstation  soon for  Editing/VFX,  let me know what you think. I have   2 routes  either the Intel i9 9900K route  or  the AMD  Threadripper 1920X or 1950X.

Here are the links for the builds :

Intel : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/32gpLJ

AMD : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xjwj9J

The intel build is  slightly cheaper but the AMD build have more cores and  better for  multithreading and multitasking.

My Question is if we will see in the future of the adobe suite integration of the new RT/Tensor  core  and the Deep learning capabilities. Or should I switch to an 1080ti (maybe 2 depending on work )

My previous (3-4 year old) setup was a dual 960 with i7 4720 @2.6Ghz (No OC) and 16GB ram

Let me know what you think and if RT/Tensor core will be implemented into video editing/VFX

Poor Performance in V13 Compared to 12

I have been using Premiere for over 15 years. Past two years editing with 4k 400Mbs All-i from GH5 and Gh5s.

12.1 Premiere has been solid.  Updated to 13 when released.  Program was unusable, so.slow and clips would freeze not play, lag in timeline.

I rolled back.

Setup two new machines and existing machine, updated to 13.2, same problem. Importing takes longer, clips in timeline stutter on all preview versions 1/4 1/2 1/8.  CPU pegged 100%, GPU at 8%.  Roll back to v12 totally fine.

So what has changed in programming and code to destroy performance that was once better?

Warp Stabiliser - Canon 1DX Mark II - Heat distortion lines

0
0

Hi,

Whenever I apply Warp Stabiliser to a video it makes all of the bold, sharp lines in the footage glitchy, giving a sort of heat distortion affect, but only on the sharp lines. The actual stabilisation of the footage isn't an issue so much as the horrible scanning effect.

Could this be a fault with my camera? I've reinstalled premiere, tried every different setting in Warp Stabiliser, tried using Warp stabiliser on multiple machines, all having the same problem.

https://youtu.be/L_4vi57jrMY - This link shows the same clip, first with the stabiliser and if you look at the edges of the text you can notice the scan line effect. The second clip is the unstabilised version (excuse my awful camerawork it was freezing cold and I hadn't got the ronin out ) But on the second clip you can see that whilst it is shaky the text is sharp. Also the actual stabilised movement in the first clip is pretty much fine, just the lines:(

I've spent the last few hours trying to figure out what is causing this issue to no avail, any help at all would be very much appreciated! I feel like this has to be an issue with my camera settings? For reference I am shooting using a canon 1DX Mark II.

Thanks

Photoshop images don't fit?

I have double checked that all the details match up.

My timeline is Widescreen - 720h 480v (1.2121) NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2121)

My photoshop images are 720x480 with the PIxel Aspect Ratio NTSC Widescreen (1.21)

My images have the same resolution AND ratio as the video. Same numbers, yet when I put the images in the timeline, there are pillar boxes. For some reason, the only way I can get images to fit the video are if they are the oddly specific and arbitrary resolution of 873x582.

I don't know why this is being weird, or how I can fix it, given how there appears to be nothing to fix.

Premiere Pro CC 2019 - Lost top nav bar

Hi all,

This is hopefully an easy fix but it's been frustrating me for days now!

I seem to have pushed a combination of keys which has made my top nav bar disappear. As you can see in the pic I've lost my maximize, minimise and close buttons from the very top. This is making is very frustrating to work as my Premiere window is now locked to fit in one screen and i can't extend it when i want more windows open...Capture.PNG

Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm working on a Windows PC. I've tried uninstalling and removing all settings but it hasn't worked.

Thanks all,

Victoria

Images glitches on Premiere exports

Hi,

I have a problem with a number of art images in Premiere which glitches both when I play it on Premiere and when I export the film. What they all have in common is that they are very detailed drawings with lines. I get the glitches no matter how I export it, even prores HQ.

Here is two examples:

Glitch 1 - Creative COW

http://f1.creativecow.net/13008/glitch-1

Glitch 2 - Creative COW

I'm working on an Imac Pro with the latest version of Premiere.

Can anyone else please?

Thanks!

Ingesting/creating proxys for multiple aspect ratio+frame rates

0
0

Hi all,

I'm currently editing a project with dozens of video files with different frame rates and aspect ratios.

To convert these files into proxys I'm creating an encoding and ingest preset for each unique frame rate/aspect ratio setting.

Obviously, this is a pain in the ***.

But when I try to set my pro res or cineform encoding presets to "match source" I get an error message saying that's not possible.

Am I missing something? Is there a a way to create a prores or cineform preset that will match the source the aspect ratio and frame rate(or better yet convert to the frame rate of my project)?

Thanks in advance.

Clips glitching after render

Hi,

Every time I render my sequence, the clips start glitching on playback. They jump all over the place and there are also constant flashes of red and green frames. It's only happened recently. The other day they were all fine after render. I don't know if this has got anything to do with it, but the clips are all quite long as they themselves are full finished sequences that I've exported and imported into this new project for the sake of compiling them all.

I am using Premiere Pro CS5.5.

Thank you to any help.

Premiere really slow to react

Since updating Windows and Premiere I have had really slow performance, not only playing back the timeline but switching between sequences and tabs in the interface is painfully slow. I have tried running Premiere 2018 and still have the same issues. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues?

I have tried opening Projects from a NAS and a locally mounted drive, this makes no difference.

Premiere CC2019 not saving changes

Have autosave enabled, also backing up to Creative Cloud.

Spent an hour cutting apart and inserting titles into home movie transfer.

Save after every title is inserted.

Premiere crashes.

close program, open file.

the file is exactly as it was when I started the project. Not one of the changes has been saved.

Go to CC backup.

Same thing. Blank project except for the media was imported, but nothing on the timeline.

Even manually saving this file is not working.

I am using a RAID with 6 tb available. So it is not at all a space issue.

Project Window Stuck Off-Screen. Any ideas?

-- I'm running Premiere Pro CC 2018 on a macbook pro 15" running High Sierra 10.13.3 --

I had previously opened Premiere at home with my dual monitor setup. Now I'm on the road and when project opens the top windows are off-screen:

Screen Shot 2018-02-10 at 8.01.40 PM.png

When I select a different window arrangement, it gets worse:

Screen Shot 2018-02-10 at 8.02.05 PM.png

I can drag the bottom of the window and resize it but I can't get to the top to arrange it.

Screen Shot 2018-02-10 at 8.02.23 PM.png

Here's how I have attempted to fix it:

- Hooked up an additional monitor. When monitor is attached I can move windows, but the moment I unplug monitor, the windows go back to original off-screen position (no matter where I had placed them while add'l monitor was running).

- I uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere. Same problem as before.

- I restarted Premiere while holding the option key (to trash preferences). Problem still there.

- I created a new project. No change in problem.

Anybody have a good idea? Thanks!

HDMI output

Premiere Pro CC 2014 (3-12-15) no longer outputs HDMI.

Previously I've been playing the Program Monitor full screen to a Samsung PDP51 TV using the sole mac HDMI output.

Perhaps related to the Mac Security Update 2015-002 I just installed or how that functions with CC.

I don't think it is exclusively CC (which I updated 69 days ago) because I've played to the monitor since then.

However, I can play to the monitor using Premiere CS6. So it is NOT a hardware issue or connections issue.  With the newer software versions I hear the audio but don't see the video. Now, since the Mac Security update, it doesn't work in Premiere Pro CC Version 7.2.2 (33) either.

Before the update, if I set (in Premiere Pro > Preferences > Audio Hardware)  the Adobe Desktop Audio to be HDMI,  the video follows audio as it should.

Anyone else have this issue? Any fix?

Thanks,

Chris Blake

Color Saturation not correct on Premiere Pro

0
0

Hey everyone, I am needing some help with my Premiere program.

The issue that I am having is that the Software for premiere is reading the color of my footage differently that how the footage truly is.

The footage the premiere is showing within the software is more saturated and seems to be already color corrected, when in fact it is not.

I'm going to post a photo below that has a side-by-side of what I am explaining. The image on the left is the footage directly from the SD card, the footage has not been imported or tampered with. The image on the right, is within the Premiere software, after I import the footage.

When My projects are complete, I export the project and open it up to view it, and it returns to the same dull saturation from its original state before import.

This leads me to think that the software is just portraying the colors differently.

When I'm editing with premiere, I would like the colors to be true to what it is, because it is deceiving while I'm trying to color correct all my footage. Please let me know if you've had this problem and know the solution. I can screenshot anything you need within the software for help.

Premiere Pro 2019 randomly using all system RAM and crashing?

0
0

Recently I have been having a troublesome issue with Premiere Pro 2019 and was hoping to get some help. Without any reason I can find, in the middle of editing, Premiere will suddenly stop playing back any video. Occasionally audio will continue but that soon stops as well.  When this happens, within a matter of seconds, my RAM usage will basically sky rocket and max out my computer, going from 8 GB to around 55GB+ (see screenshot). At this point, I can only very slowly navigate the interface and save the project, still with no playback or frame updates when dragging or attempting to move the playhead. Usually, however, if I try to do anything, the program will crash. Strangely, if I leave my computer idle, after 10-20 minutes, playback may suddenly resume and RAM usage quickly drops to normal as if nothing happened. I can continue working at that point until it happens again. Sometimes I can get 2 or 3 hours of work, sometimes only 5 minutes, until the issue returns. I am not doing anything complex at this point. So far, I've just been importing footage, cutting and nesting different takes, and putting a few multicam sequences together. As such, I've mostly noticed this issue simply when playing through source material.

I tried doing several steps to fix this already all with no luck. I deleted my unused media cache in the preferences menu. I reset all preferences. I turned off GPU acceleration. I made sure I had the latest driver for my GPU. I imported my project into a new project. Closed unused programs. Restarted my computer. Uninstalled and redownloaded Premiere. Etc. Still no solution.  This is my first project with Premiere 2019 but it is also my first time using my new machine. I was concerned it might be an issue from my video footage (.MOV files with h.264 compression from my Canon 80D) but I didn't experience this problem before on a different machine with Premiere 2018.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be? Is it a bug in Premier? I am especially concerned as this is my first time on my custom build and was unsure if this may be a hardware related issue (although this only happens in Premiere, so I find it unlikely that my computer is at fault).

My build is as follows:

Windows 10

Cpu: intel i7-8700k

GPU: NVIDIA RTX2080Ti

RAM: 64 GB DDR4

Storage: 500GB Samsung evo 970 (program files & disk cache), 1TB Samsung evo 860 (source material, project, scratch disks, etc.)

I would truly appreciate any help as this is consuming an immense amount of my time!

Typekit fonts in Open Captions

Is it possible to use fonts from Typekit in Open Captions? I am currently working on a project that needs Museo sans rounded for the captions, but I can´t seem to get it to work. I can select Museo Sans Rounded, but the font that comes out is Calibri.

Anyone ever used a font from typekit in Open Captions? Would it work if I got the font from somewhere else and installed it in Windows?

Any help would be great.
