Premiere Pro freezing on "Save as" and "Save a copy"

The title says it all. Just built a new pc and got the subscription now when I open my old project files(these were also on premiere pro cc but older version) and try to save them as with a different name the program just freezes. I've given it time and even deleted everything from project leaving only the sequence with no other files in project. Still freezes, any ideas?

Green and Pink Video in Premiere Pro 12.0.1 (Build 69)

Hi,

I'm editing a video since 2 weeks, everything was fine until today. I opened Premiere and all my clips look green/pink.

I didn't change anything, but yesterday Windows Update installed a new video driver "Intel Corporation - Display - 2/28/2018 12:00:00:00 AM - 23.20.16.4973".

I think the problem is a result of the new driver?

Do I need to update a codec?

Or should I remove the display driver?

What can I do?

Thanks for your help.

Open Captions won't update changes

Hello,

I'm making a video for an important client. They send me a correction list with minimum corrections on the captions. The frustrating problem is that when I apply those corrections, some are changed, but some are not. And if I close the program, after saving all my work, and open it again, the changes are gone.

I really think it is a bug and it is really frustrating for the client also to see that some mistakes are still in the captions, and for me to keep on going through the video several times to see these random mistakes are still there even though I corrected them before.

Anybody with the same problem?

Thanks in advance.

.srt import and editing not working in Premiere CC 2019

Hello,

I have a big issue with .srt files. I used to import .srt and add them to a sequence, then I used to edit size etc.... It is ok in Premiere CC 2018 but, it seems that all edit settings are doing nothing to the text . To reproduce the issue you just have to open Premiere CC 2019, load a .srt file and place it on the timeline, and try to edit captions settings (font size, font etc...). In my case I can see modification in the preview thumbnail of each caption in the "Captions" tab but, nothing is visible on the monitor, the text remains the same (very small and... that's it ).

Can you help me with this bug ? Thank you !

Obsolete Audio Filters and Lables

$

Three questions:

1-

I used a "deprecated filter" which appears opening the project as such:

Audio Filter obsolete:  Adaptive Noise Reduction

I changed and used the RX7 Voice denoise from iZotope, which works better

As this message appears opening the project I might have left this obsolete filter in one or more clips As they are thousands, is there a "fast" way to locate these filters, OR if I was able to remove it everywhere I used it does it appear for some mysterious reasons in project file no matter if it is in use or not?

I selected one by one A1, A2 ecc audio files attempting to remove the AUDIO filters Property butI never saw the Obsolete Adaptive Noise Reduction in the list to Remove.

2-

In my Effects window iZotope RX7 Voice denoise (and all others from iZotope) appear 3 or four times ... how can I just keep one in my list? I placed them in the system Library not int he Users library ... so I don't understand what to do-

3-

I unlinked every "linked Video-Audio files" in my editing I occasionally need to move the audio as off screen voice, using a different section of the VIDEO part as a reaction shot with no audio.

As I have 8 different Audio tracks as Dialogue, Dialogue 2, Voice Over, Music, Foley, Other sounds, Atmosphere and so on, I hope to colour each label according to my editing needs.

Still if an AUDIO clip comes from a MOV file, no matter if I unlink it, attempting to assign it a different colour label also the corresponding VIDEO file colour label changes.

Is there a way to avoid this, so my various AUDIO files keep their own label as I assign it, without also changing the colour in the VIDEO file?

Thanks a lot to anyone who care to answer

Scaling only plays back in timeline when another effect is active.

Hey, everyone!

Trying to apply a super simple scaling effect to a jpg on Premiere CC (most recent and updated version). For whatever reason, the scaling effect (and only the scaling effect) plays back in the timeline when another effect is present and active. For example - if I scale up any image to a certain percentage, then Premiere fails to show any changes when scrubbing through the timeline. When another effect is introduced (active, with keyframes) scaling can be viewed in the timeline. For instance, if the position effect is introduced and one parameter is bumped up one unit through the keyframes (from 3104.0 to 3105.0 in this case) all of a sudden the scaling appears in the playback. All other effects playback fine in the timeline when they're on their own or accompanied with other effects. So weird!

After export and subsequent viewing on Quicktime, the scaling effect (unaccompanied by any other active effect) appears to be working fine, but again, fails to playback when scrubbing through the project timeline within the working file in Premiere CC. I uninstalled and reinstalled. I played with memory settings and returned them to defaults. A colleague and I tested this on their computer and they had the same issue. We were able to fix it in the same manner described above (without uninstalling, reinstalling, memory tweaks, and whatever else I messed with).

I think it's safe to say that this might be a software bug and not a hardware/memory issue.

Thanks in advance and may you all have a happy and fulfilling 2019!

I've used PP for several years and never had a problem before, BUT, now the program crashes when I try to export. I've imported the project into a new project several times, and also started from scratch several times. SHOULD I DO AN UPDATE? (Not possible, is it?) I've also had to press force quit, and also restarted my computer to no success. Shall I uninstall the program and then reinstall, or something else?
Please help

Media Pending - Premiere 2019

I'm editing on a 2017 iMac Pro running Mojave and version 13.0 of Premiere. My timeline is rendered out and I haven't noticed the issue on any exported footage. It's only in my timeline and it appears to only be one or two frames. It's as if those frames were replaced with the 'Media Pending' graphic.

Few things to consider. Out of the 20 sequences in this project 8 have the issue. 7 of those sequences were originally built in Premiere 2018 and imported into 2019. Only one of the sequences built in 2019 and has the issue. It tends to show up around transitions, mainly fade ins. I've replaced the linked media by reexporting it from Photoshop, issue remains. Full system restarts and deleting render files hasn't fixed the issue. Also been using a 2017 iMac, none pro addition, and it doesn't have the issue. Same file opened on both machines. Unfortunately I can't redo the transitions at this time.

Was hoping for a quick fix but I'm guessing I'll have to replace all the transitions and see if that's a fix. Will update if anything changes/comes to mind.

I recently upgraded to 13.02 on Mojave 10.14.2 and now the assignment location in the timeline Audio Clip Mixer has disappeared.  It used to be above L-R balance adjustment.   Any ideas?

Export MXF OP1A CC in French

I have imported a closed caption (SCC files) in Premiere. The language of the closed caption is French. Then, I have exported a MXF OP1A with closed caption embedded. When I check the metadata information of my MXF file, it writes English EIA-708 but my closed caption is in French. The information is wrong. Is it possible to change this information in Premiere?

Weird trouble PP CC 2019

So since a couple of weeks i'm experiencing troubles with the suite CC.
Almost all programs(Ps, media encoder, Pr, Ae) start to become unstable and have weird symptoms.
Sometimes i can't open JPEG/PNG in photoshop because it tells me its not a JPEG/PNG... while Lr can.
But then Pr is worse ! video's don't play audio right sometimes the audio is even made up, also masks from text show black or darkend on the video.
Adjustment layers switch on or off while they just overlay not changing, also sometimes clips start when the curser didn't reach the clips.
And some other weird things.... for me the suite is useless ATM i can't work on anything or trust it a bit.
Really bummed by this can someone please help me out !

Things i did:
De/Re-install the programs,
Delete preferences,
Delete cache,
Rename the files for Ps. it worked sometimes,
Rename the video worked one time for Pr.

Essential Graphics not loading fonts correctly after update

$

I recently updated from Premiere/MediaEcoder/After Effects CC 2018 to CC 2019. Had been running with little issue for several days, until I opened a previous project (CC 2018 based project file) that had essential graphics that I made on the timeline.

The graphics were all displaying the wrong font and despite my best efforts to resolve the issue, I wasn't able to find a way to force it to show the correct font. I didn't want to re-do all the graphics as there was a large number of them...would have taken a while. Here are a few notes that may be helpful in finding a solution.

  • Tried re-importing the essential graphics template into Premiere and overwriting the file that was there.
  • Tried re-exporting the essential graphics files out of After Effects CC 2019 and then re-importing them into Premiere
  • Tried revealing in the project, making offline, and re-linking
  • Tried deleting Media Cache Files
  • If I drag in a new graphic from the EG panel, the font is correct. The only graphics displaying the wrong font were already in the timeline.
  • The EG templates I made DID NOT have the option to change the font, as they were never intended to have a different font type.

The only way I was able to get around it was to open Premiere CC 2018 and make the changes I needed there. Seems odd that CC 2019 can decipher the EG template if I make a new one, but cannot interpret them if they are already in the timeline. Other than this one issue nothing else in the sequence was off.

Is there a way to reload the essential graphics that I am not aware of? Is there a workaround that I didn't try?

On FCP 7 if I used CTRL + V it would cut all the tracks on the timeline. How do you do that on Premiere?

I am editing the same multicam sequence on the same machine that I was doing 6 months and now the performance is too sluggish to do the job. Have the updates turned it into a hog?

23.976 or 24 - Please help me understand.

Question 1:

When I drag my footage into the library it shows as 24fps. Should I be interpreting this as 23.976? Is there a difference?

Question 1b:

Is it okay to interpret the 24 as 23.976 if I need to?

Question 2:

When I drag in my 60fps footage into the library its showing as 59.16.... Should I be interpreting this as 60 or will that mess me up?

Much appreciated!!

Misaligned Markers on Linked Footage

$

Starting just recently, I am seeing markers on footage that are misaligned between audio and video tracks. This is for raw footage that has never been unlinked and is clearly in sync. I'm seeing it in different batches of footage, though mostly from the same camera. The markers in the attached image were set by locating the playhead on a specific place on the audio track and then hitting the M key to set a marker. That single keystroke is placing a marker at the playhead location on the audio track and a marker on the video track that is offset by exactly -02:20 from the location of the one on the audio track.

Nothing has changed in our recording or ingesting procedures since before the problem appeared. It's not interfering much with our editing procedures, but it's definitely annoying. Anyone know what could be going on here?

Premiere blew my macbook pro speakers

I have a new 2 month old 15" MBP. I Was working on a project, macbook volume was about on half, when suddenly an audio bug occurred with really loud screatching noise and not letting me pause it. After it stopped, the speakers were really quiet, and after the next restart they're clearly blown. Initially I blamed the hardware, though the same thing happened a day later with my Sony 1000X-M3 headphones, luckily the headphones are ok, but that did give me a heart attack.

The situation is not ok, I am not happy. Adobe customer care chat is ridiculous.
