I have a problem Im hoping Premiere Pro may be the tool for however, I have never used the program and know absolutely nothing about it.
What I am trying to accomplish is to take an audio recording of some housing noises I made in an m4a format and create a video recording of the playback of those recordings showing the sound levels db values...can Premier Pro accomplish this?

I know others have long been experiencing this same problem, but all of the other forums on this topic that I've been able to find haven't resolved or acutely described the problem, and the discussion always devolves into lengthy discussions with solutions that ultimately don't fix the issue, so I hope this doesn't come off as a redundant post.
The problem: Like many other posters, when I export from Premiere--even when I export lossless ProRes 422 HQ--I have major color shifting / desaturation / other color issues in my end product, and this is consistent across Mac/PCs, whether I have the latest version of Premiere or of my OS, etc.
Yes, I know I can open my lossless file in VLC instead of Quicktime and my color will be accurate/preserved, but that's because VLC matches your source color on the back end. YouTube, Vimeo, & Facebook--where I'll actually be publishing my videos--don't do that, and the color is radically shifted/desaturated etc. when I upload there, which is what really matters here. By my lights, all of this means that something in the export itself is to blame.
Does anyone know what this issue is and how to fix it? And I want to be clear here--I'm viewing the color in both the export and the Premiere project window from the same monitor, so I don't understand how it can be a monitor calibration issue.
I'm by no means a color or technical expert--I just recently began motion graphics and editing--but this just seems like a consistent issue with Premiere / Media Encoder not exporting with remote fidelity to what you see in your editing window. This has been an incredibly frustrating problem for well over a year. I'm hopeful it's just a togglable setting that I have on/off, but I'm worried that's not the case. If this is an issue that Adobe knows about and can admit to, even THAT would be helpful. At least then I can stop trying to find the magic setting in Premiere or Media Encoder that fixes my issue and start working around what I know to be an immovable issue.
I hope someone from Adobe can chime in, since I know tons of other post-producers who are much more tech-savvy than I am who complain about the exact same problem, and they use wild work-arounds that only approximate a real solution to get by. Any thoughts on what to do would be really appreciated.

I just upgrade to the latest Premiere Pro and I always used the audio effects "Dynamics" for it's limiter function on a channel strip. I wanted to do this again and went to 'obsolete audio effects' and selected dynamics (obsolete). I was then prompted with a question to use the newer version and checked "don't show this again" and accidentally proceeded with the new dynamics. Now every time I try to select Dynamics (Obsolete) I get taken to the new version.
My question is how do I get back the ability to use the Obsolete Dynamics and not get re-directed to the new one? I can't seem to find the options for it under preferences.

id like to suggest that a more intuitive term for this would be "crossfade"
and as a feature suggestion, i would be highly intuitive to be able to apply this by simply selecting the two audio clips and hitting "X" on the keyboard to apply it
i have seen it in some Audio DAWs and it works well.

I’ve recently had a video fail on multiple occasions going through the Vidchecker.
The file is an AS11 for broadcast, and uses the same template project as the last 40 or so exports which have passed Vidchecker with no issue.
The main error to come up is:

Descriptor item 'Black Ref Level' must be 64 (when present) but was 0. - Picture Essence Descriptor item 'White Ref Level' must be 940 (when present) but was 1023. - Picture Essence Descriptor item 'Color Range' must be 897 (when present) but was 1023.
This is something the techs themselves have not seen before.
It has occurred to me that this may be related to what I have on the timeline - I have two colour mattes over the top of everything - a black and a white, with their blend modes set to lighten and darken. This is to prevent any stray pixels from going above or below legal luma levels. A technique learned in “The Cool Stuff in Premiere Pro” by Jarle Leirpoll et al.
My question is, does anybody else use this method for broadcast safe levels, and if so have they encountered any errors recently with their videos going through Vidchecker?
If anybody uses other methods to ensure Broadcast safe levels would they care to share them? I personally find the video limiter effect on its own to be less effective.
It is also worth noting that during these passes through the Vidchecker, it at one point indicated the colour bars were not at 100, when they definitely were. It also flagged a title sequence for harmful flashing, when the title sequence has remained untouched in 35 weeks of broadcast with no issue.
Could this just be a error with a new Vidchecker update? If so how best to proceed and avoid such issues again as there are many more TXs to deliver.

I will make this "short" - I use a GoPro Hero 5 Session to record my Mountain Bike Trail Rides. I have researched a lot and tried many different things. Many. But not all.
Sometimes my videos turn out fine, other times not. What I see on my computer after editing with Premiere Pro is always great. But when I upload to YouTube, the compression is making certain sections pixelated and creating artifacts. I would like to do everything in my power to prevent this.
I would like to know what Resolution and Frames Per Second combo would provide the best quality. The only Preference I would like to keep in mind is the Field of View. I like to use Wide for some things and Linear for others. So I need Capture settings that can do both those things and be in the same Resolution and FPS, otherwise it messes things up when I create a new Project/Sequence and they're different.
I have tried many Export Settings as well and I would love to keep Exporting at the YouTube HD 1080 preset if possible. It's very quick...
I have tried both CBR and VBR 2 Pass and changed the Bit Rate settings various times and what I find is that when I stray from the Preset is that it can take 12 hours to Export a 15 minute video that has hardly any Effects, Colour Grading, or Music. And then it takes about 12 Hours to upload to YouTube as well. When I export at the YouTube HD 1080 Preset, it may take an hour to Export and Hour long video and only an hour to Upload. But when there's a lot of movement, I get pixelation and artifacts and it's becoming unacceptable.
I am so burnt out and anxious over the research and trial and error and would love some help here.

I'm trying to rename my audio tracks in a video I made last year, and I have opened it in the most recent update of Premiere Pro CC 2019. When I right click on the audio tracks (including new one I have just added) "rename" is greyed out.
Can someone please advise me on why this might be and how to fix it?

Everything was fine yesterday with all the color options and small caps options etc etc when I open the legacy titler, but when I continued with my project today, none of the options mentioned above are available to me, which makes it hard for me to continue my project, help pls! ><

I'm trying out CC 2019 after using CC 2017 for a long time and I've noticed that the feature "Selection Follows Playhead" doesn't work like it used to.
Before when I scroll through the timeline, the playhead always selects the following clips as intended.

Now in CC 2019, if I click or edit a transition and continue to scroll, the playhead will no longer select the clips that follow.

This causes me to have to do an extra click on the clip I want to select to continue, which takes up more time (especially with hundreds of clips).
How can I change it back to the way it worked before?

Keyboard shortcuts: selecting and toggling panels
As per link above, in Premiere Pro CC 2017, I should be able to toggle focus to Project Panel using Shift + 1. However in the latest version, this shortcut doesn't work anymore and as usual, I am unable to assign a hotkey in the keyboard shortcut settings.
Any workaround for this? or is this bug?
Well this started happening a few days ago.
When i try to import files via double click on the project media panel or via file>import premiere pro freezes, to be specific it keeps "loading" ,the cursor has the circle of loading, but it never loads the explorer to search the files and i have to shut premiere down via the task manager . It works if i grab the files in the folder and drag them to the project media in premiere.
The thing is that it only happens with certain projects (new or old). I tried reinstalling premiere but it keeps happening.
Any ideas? its really bothersome because i end up double cliking like i always did and the program keeps freezing.

So i'm a beginner to Pr and I was working and pressed on some key, after that every time i would work with my timeline or try to edit things the top right panel would respond instead and I can't drag the player anywhere
I have been getting this error. I'm on the newest version.
The project sometimes opens when double-clicked.
I have saved as a newer version when it opens, but still, won't open when tried to open from the welcome screen or open recent dialogue.
I have run multiple versions of Premiere Pro on my system and I just started getting this error
My system slowly breaks down and I have to hard restart every time I see it. I have tried multiple fixes from this forum and none of them have worked for me. I'm wondering if I need to just wipe my system and start over.
It will show up at random times after I have been editing for a while but it will show up quickly after I send a batch export or proxy job to AME.
I would send a crash report but I don't know if I can grab one after a hard restart.
Any help is much appreciated.
And how do I talk to a person at Adobe?

Adquirí la versión de prueba de Adobe Premiere 2019 para familiarizarme con el programa, pero después de colocar el nombre del proyecto y proceder a trabajar me envía el mensaje de que Adobe Premiere dejó de funcionar. Siento que no tiene caso adquirir obtener la versión de pago sino funciona siquiera la versión de prueba. ¿Podría alguien ayudarme a solucionarlo? Por favor.
This morning I updated to Version 12.1.2 (Build 69) hoping that the problem with my Workspaces would be fixed but it wasn't.
When I arrange my windows the way I like them, I go Workspaces --> Save As New Workspace, title and save it. But when I close Premiere and re-open a project, the windows are not where I saved them. If I go to Workspaces --> and select the new one I just saved, nothing changes!
This was a problem before today's update and continues to be a problem despite this from Adobe's list of Bug Fixes in the new version: "Workspaces save now correctly with the project"
I have been putting up with this issue hoping it would be fixed in the next update but sadly it was not.
Any suggestions?

Please help. Currently no workflow for creating such a file. We have SCC, MCC, SRT formats just them embedded into an h.264.

i am creating videos for my company with Premiere Pro CC. Now we are working on a videoclip for several cinemas, so we have to generate a DCP-format. Is the ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER the right programm to create a DCP-format?
