Strange black square around random videos at export

First, allow me to explain how I make videos every single time:

1. I open Pr and use my "Untitled" project which is empty.

2. I import the video I wanna edit.

3. I drag and drop the imported item into the left window. From there, I place the in and out points at the correct place.

4. I drag and drop this video back into the list of items.

5. I right-click it and select "make new sequence from".

6. I export this as H.264.

Now, in 8/10 times, it exports perfectly. No problems at all.

In the other 20%, it gets an ugly black border around it which is NOT there prior to me exporting it. When this happens, nothing seems to help. I don't want to lose any information, so I *always* use "scale to fit". Both of the other options I find very strange that they even exist at all.

Now, please let me clarify that nothing indicates that it will have black borders (on all four sides). It just gets it. Nothing seems to help when this happens, and I can't find any common factor which causes this. To me, it seems entirely random, but I'm willing to bet it's not actually random but depends on something in the video format or something.

The most annoying thing about this is that it doesn't *look* like it will have this glitch prior to exporting. So there is nothing I can do such as using the effect "scale" or crop or something.

Has anyone else noticed this? Do you know of a solution? I like Pr the best of all video edit software I have tried, but some of these bugs (?) are really frustrating.
