Premiere is stretching my pictures

I am importing some pictures that are 4:3 in a Premiere project.

When I try to bring the picture into the timeline, the pictures are automatically being stretched to fill the screen in a 16:9 aspect ratio.

I don't want the aspect ratio changed. It's okay if the picture is smaller than the screen. How do I tell Premiere to knock it off?
