Before I start: I'm not a computer guy, please be patient with me.
This is the problem that prompted me to finally post a question, though I've had similar problems before.
I'm using a macbook pro, 15 inch, late 2011
Processor 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
Premiere settings:
Video Rendering and playback:
Renderer: Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration
Video
Display Format: Timecode
Audio
Display Format: Audio Samples
I'm editing a video. Things were going great. Randomly, with nothing changing in the premiere settings, or my computer settings or ANYTHING (other than opening a web browser periodically to look up some troubleshooting advice), One of the audio clips goes out.
I rendered the work area. I rendered the audio. I deleted the audio clip and brought it back down into my timeline. The audio works in the source monitor window, but as soon as I bring it into the timline it stops.
This is incredibly frustrating. Mostly because I don't understand how something can just randomly stop working. This software isn't cheap, it should do what it's supposed to do. Being able to see and hear the video you're editing seems like a pretty fundamental function that shouldn't be subject to random bugs.
This clip was working fine a minute ago, now it's not.
Help! Please!
