import mxf file error: "the importer reported a generic error"

Hi all, i am using premiere pro cs 6 on windows 7 64-bit machine with 32 gb ram. when i import mxf footage from canon c300 camera, premiere spits out error "the importer reported a generic error". any workaround? Thanks in advance
