Not able to add default transition

Happy Holidays Everyone.......

I exported a frame and created a Ken Burns affect with it using Motion, Position and Scale but I can't add a transition to the tail end.

If I right click on the tiff I get the option to add a default transition but it doesnt apply.

I think I'm missing something.
