PPro not using all resources?

I am having trouble editing footage for more then 3 GoPros using the MultiCamk system.

Also, both PPro and AfterEffects render somewhat slowly.

I have a AMD quad-core system with 8gb of RAM, 7200 rpm drives and a nVidia 550Ti Graphics Card.

I have thought I might need to upgrade the RAM - but in ratching the system performance monitor on the last couple of projects - I have noticed that neither PPRo nor AE are using all the existing resources?

They average about 60% of CPU and about 5gb of the 8 available?

Am I missing something?

I really need to edit 3-4 different camera views regularly and ocassionally up to 6 cams.

Please advise.
