Hello everyone
I was recently handed over HDV tape material from a Sony HVR-270E camcorder. The footage was recorded in HDV 1440x1080i but the cameraman used the XLR input located to the back of the camcorder to record audio from a microphone (channel 3 in particular - the camcorder has 4 XLR inputs, 2 to the front and 2 to the back). The camcorder usually records audio from its front XLR input (channel 1) so both audio and video can be captured from within PPRO CS5 without any issue (audio camcorder menu set to 2-channel audio). On this late occasion, though, the cameraman had to activate the 4-channel audio option from within the camcorder's menu in order to utilize the two XLR inputs to the back (no other input was connected, only audio channel 3).
Now the issue I'm facing while capturing via a firewire port is that all is fine with the video, but while I can clearly hear the recorded audio from the camcorder's monitor, no audio is captured at all! Am I missing something here? I captured the footage without previously creating any sequence at all, in order to automatically create one after capture by using one of the clips. I've tried looking into the capture settings and there's no option pointing to 4-channel audio whatsoever. No other capture device installed except firewire port. What could be wrong? Anyone with a similar problem, please help.
Thanks a lot in advance.
