My organization is attempting to change over from Final Cut Pro 6 & 7 to Adobe Premier Pro CS6 with the use of AJA. In Final Cut we are able to hear audio while setting ‘in & out’ points, and while it captures from a BETACAM SP/DVC PRO cassette. We are NOT able to do the same with Premier Pro. However, after the footage has been captured using Premier Pro, and exported to whatever digital format is requested by the customer, sound is present in the video. Likewise, sound is also available when that file is opened and edited in the time line. We don’t normally work in timeline, as customers put in a work order for ‘in and out’ times for the footage. So to work in timeline would lesson our productivity.
A number of us have spent a good amount of time researching and Googl’ing this issue. Books, forums, how-to videos, all to no avail. Even our IT department has given up. There has to be a way to get the audio to work during the capturing process. Any thoughts?
