Hi all,
I'm a recent convert from FCP and I'm still just wrapping my head around Premiere Pro CS6. I'm running Win 7 64-bit with a reasonably fast gaming machine (Quad Core 2.4GHz/8GB DDR2).
I have some 1080p DNxHD files that I exported from Avid that I need to cut together. The files are fairly large (roughly 1GB/min., ranging from 3 min. to 60 min. files), but the playback on all of them is incredibly choppy. Premiere brings them in okay and I can edit, but it only plays back smoothly for a couple of seconds before stuttering. Obviously I can't edit this way.
I think my problem might be my sequence settings, but when I go to make a custom preset my "Video Previews" options are incredibly limited. The only codecs available to choose are not helpful, and the "configure" button is greyed out and not selectable. I've seen screenshots where this codec had beed changed to DNxHD, but I don't seem to have that option. Screenshot:

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
