Correcting the exposure on videos (lightroom does it, why does premiere not?)

i just noticed that if i import video files into adobe lightroom i can adjust the exposure and bring back some detail which was too bright having been recorded on a sunny day,  why cant i do this in adobe premiere?

i only have brightness and contrast or shadow and highlights, but no exposure effect in premire.

after effects has also an exposure effect in the colour correction options, but the result was not so good for some reason, the whites just became darker but i was not able to retrieve the seeminlgy lost details the way lightroom was able to do it.

anyone able to help me understand whats going on here and the logic of excluding the feature from premiere ?  thanks

the file type im using is .movs from my canon 70D
