Premier Pro auto is deleting my timeline.
I'm experiencing some difficulties. My premier pro auto saves which is totally normal, but now its creating new files any time I save manually as well. (Named save1, save2 etc.)
Now when I save manually the program closes my timeline and deletes it. (which I cannot re-find)
Then when it loads after going blank my timeline file name is from a previous save and then project name is the file I'm working on.. Does this make any sense?
I also just did the newest update and that seems to make it crash even more.
The is an image of 3 files that are all containing the same thing. Why is it doing this??

Export to mp4 + srt
I am new to Adobe Premiere Pro. I have edited a video with audio and open captions and I would like to export the outcome to mp4, with all open captions in one .SRT file. But when I go to File > Export > Media, i don't have the option to export the video to mp4; and the 'Captions' tab in the Export Settings dialog box does not offer the option to export to SRT. The output is always .3gp. What's up???

How to create equivalent of a clipping mask?
Hi, in Premiere I want to do the same thing as creating a clipping mask in Photoshop. I'm fine with doing this in Premiere, or After Effects if there is a solution there.
(Everything is explained better with pictures below, but) On one layer, I have a video animation clip with a transparent background, with an opaque dark-grey animation of my character's shirt.
I want to put another layer above that layer with a texture, which takes up the whole screen. But make it so the texture only shows up where the shirt is below it.
Image 1, below: In black is my lineart. Ignore that. In dark grey, the shirt is on a separate layer with a transparent background.
Image 2, below: In between my black lineart layer on top, and my grey shirt layer on bottom, I put this texture layer which covers the whole screen.
Image 3, below: Here's what I want to happen. What I want it to look like. So the texture is masked to exactly where the pixels on the shirt layer are, as the shirt moves.
Please help me figure out how to do this! Thank you so much!!!

Premiere Wants Me to Render (all of a sudden)
Hi Everyone,
basically in all of my projects Premiere wants me to render all the timelines (the timelines are all marked red). Before they were just marked red in parts, mostly in yellow. Now everything turns red in the timeline, and I can't really grasp why as I havn't changed any settings.
Does anyone possibly know what this could be? All the settings are the same as before.
Be mad if you could help.

new to premiere and already a small problem. please help
i just started to use premiere and i know the clips i am using has sound all the way through. but upon importing said clip, the first half will have sound and the second half does not. also i do have a couple other clips without sound as well. they were all produced the same way so i do not understand what is going on.

How to Change the "Add Marker" color?
Hey Everyone,
Here's what I'm looking for.
The Add Marker shortcut places a green marker on the clip.
I want this green marker to be RED, or WHITE, something more noticeable.
I went to the keyboard shortcuts and found "Set marker color", this is great, however when i attempt to apply the marker to the clip it will only mark the top of the timeline this doesn't really do any good.
Summary: I want to add a red marker to a video clip without stopping playback.

I've been on the phone with Apple senior engineer for hours regarding .MTS Files
They are working on an update so we can import and see AVCHD FILES, MTS. But in the meantime, they suggested we use the VLC media player. My question to all of you, is if we can right click Quicktime and have it open with "applications" and make that the VLC applications, then Adobe would have no problem. VLC is working on this tonight but I figured possibly one of you could figure this out. The Apple Senior Engineer verified what I've been saying about not opening the .mts files and said it's going to take several days to figure an update of High Sierra for this. In the meantime, she gave me this temporary "go around" to help.I've sent an email to VLC suggesting that if they could figure this out, it would really help them... again, right-click Quicktime.. open with.. go to open with .. then on the bottom it says applications... I want to get it to indicate VLC application and I can't get it to do that. Maybe one of you guys who are not in your late '60s as an editor might be able to figure this out better than me... please let me know.

Open Captions: Padding top and bottom not equal
I'm not sure whether this is a CC2018 issue or not, but I don't seem to remember an uneven padding between top and bottom in the Open Captions?

WARP STABILIZER & EXPORT FAILURE
Since a few weeks now I keep having issues with exporting my timeline from different projects on different PC's!!!

This is happening all the time now and I ONLY have warip stbailizer and a simple lumetri color correction on the HD 25p files from gh4 and canon 5D 4.
This is soooo annoying!!!! And yes, I have enought storage and space! Also tried different harddrives, filenames, computers... nothing works once this bug is there!!!!
PLEASE SOLVE THIS ISSUE!!!!
If I delete ALL the audio and resave the file, same same!!!

Open PP 2018 on dual monitors
I have a dual monitor setup for editing. All other versions of Premiere, since the first CC, would open spread across both monitors after I setup my preferred workspace, and it would open that way everytime. However, this latest version will not open across both screens. Instead, it opens maximized on one monitor. Is there some trick I've forgotten about to get it to open spread across both monitors?

Premiere does not import audio that is attached to video
Alright, so I've downloaded a few videos that I need to include in my movie onto my desktop. If I watch them in say, quick time player, there is audio and I can hear everything perfectly. Once I import the file into premiere though, the audio detaches and is nowhere to be found! It's like it doesn't exist or something.
I've looked everywhere for a solution and can't seem to find one so please help!
In the timeline the file appears as purple instead of the normal blue with audio attached if that helps.

Premiere stürzt beim Export in Quicktime mov ab
Liebe Community,
seit dem letzten Update stürzt mein Premiere Pro CC 2018 immer ab, sobald ich in ein Quicktime mov exportieren will.
Die Fehlermeldung "Schwerwiegender Fehler" trifft jedes Mal auf.
Ich habe Premiere bereits deinstalliert und wieder neu installiert, und das Projekt sowohl auf verschiedenen Festplatten, als auch lokal versucht zu exportieren – immer mit derselben Fehlermeldung.
mp4 funktioniert, allerdings hätte ich gerne einen mov Master des Projektes.
Ich arbeite auf einem MacBook Pro 15", 2,6 GHz Intel Core i7 mit 16 GB RAM (Generation Ende 2013), kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass es was mit der Rechenleistung zu tun hat, bisher lief Premiere performant.
Kann jemand helfen?

SRT constantly crashing in Premier Pro
Hello... Hoping desperately for advice... I've imported an SRT file into Premier Pro. I now want to edit quite a lot of these subtitles within Premier. Every time I try to, Premier Pro crashes. I've tried changing the frame rate from 1000 to 25, but every time, it reverts back to 1000 and will not save at 25.
In addition, when I try to even watch the subtitles I have imported alongside the media files, it freezes on just one subtitle and they do not change. When I pause the media using space bar, the correct subtitle then comes up. As soon as I press space bar again, the subtitles revert back to the same frozen subtitle and do not change...
I have spent hours trying to resolve this...
nb// The media is over 2 hours long, so there are a lot of subtitles to change.., Even trying to edit the subs with very low res media or just using audio, I still cannot edit them without Premier crashing. Help! Please!

I'm having the exact same problem with different system settings. Because my subscription is still active and this error is making the program IMPOSSIBLE to work on I'm creating a new post and asking kindly if anyone knows a answer for this.

This forum post has been at least a good consolation. Here I am in December 2017 having the F*** SAME ERROR here, and I'm running Windows 10! Same problem started happening at the same time (!!!) also in my Windows 7 Laptop. I'm really screwed by Adobe in the past week. Even tried phone calling them, but I will not even enter this topic so we can at least try to resolve this issue peacefully
I'm 99,99% sure the problem is with Premiere because of the multiple machines error, but nevertheless here are some important info:
I don't have PushBullet.
I've tried restarting my machine (resolves the issue for a while, then it happens again).
I've tried cleaning my preferences and cleaning my Media Cache.
I've tried uninstalling Premiere and installing it again.
I've tried downgrading from Premiere 2018 to 2017.
I've tried reinstalling Google Chrome.
I've tried using Premiere Pro after restarting my machine WITHOUT launching any other program (including Chrome). It crashed after a while.
I have not installed any new software on my PC. The only thing that I can think of is the 2018 Premiere Pro upgrade made about 1 month ago (and the problem started a couple of days ago).
Tried editing with GPU Rendering and Software Only.
Tried upgrading my video driver.
I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, OK?
So, Is there any comprehensive solution or should I give up and cancel Adobe Creative Cloud subscription?

Crash when using 'Replace Footage' Function
This is a continuation of a thread that was closed, but this issue is not answered or resolved. (LINK)
I'm experiencing a consistent issue when attempting to replace footage by Right-clicking on the clip in the Project Bin and selecting "Replace Footage". I get the dialog box to select the replacement and then I get one of three outcomes:
1. Premiere crashes suddenly and completely. (45% of the time)
2. The Dialog box goes GREY and remains on screen. You cannot close that box. No replacement took place. (45% of the time)
3. The replacement completes successfully. (10% of the time.)
This started on upgrading to CC 2017 in January.
I'm replacing footage several times an hour, so this has a huge impact on my workflow. A fix would be welcome!

Premiere Pro CC 2018 Lumetri Color bug
I've recently updated Premiere Pro to the newest version, and all of the color correction to my files from a previous version appears incredibly washed out. How can I solve for this?

Premiere Pro - Not copying over motion attributes of clips when duplicating / copying and pasting from sequence to sequence
Ok so this is really annoying me.
When copying and pasting clips on premiere pro from one sequence to another, it's not copying the motion attributes. So if a clip has been scaled up to fit the frame size, or if I have used keyframing for the ken burns kind of effect, it's not copying those attributes onto the other sequence when pasting, or when duplicating a sequence.
Am i missing something? or is this a bug?

Motion Graphics Roll doesn't roll
Premiere Pro CC 2018 (12.0.0)
OSX 10.12.6
I've created a long rolling credit screen with Motion Graphics, using the Roll check box. It plays fine in Premiere but when I export to h.264, the graphics don't move. They stay at the starting point of the motion.
The only work around I've found is to convert the motion template to an After Effects file and use that instead.
When I open it in After Effects, there's no motion keyframes. I have to manually put those in.
Any idea why the roll works in Premiere but won't export?
