Capturing Hi8 Tapes - My capture device is USB or S-Vid / Component Out. Will Premier Pro CS6 Recognize this device?

AVerMediaDarkCrystal HD Capture SDK Video Capture Device.   I'm trying to capture the video uncompressed so I retain as much resolution as possible.  I can edit to other formats from there later.  I'll be playing these tapes from the camera.

Premiere Pro CS6 Hangs on startup

Have used this program before and today it started to hang when I start the program.

It hangs when it's showing "Loading ImporterQuickTime.bundle"

Premiere Pro CC hangs on splash screen "loading ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle"

Premiere Pro CC hangs on splash screen  "loading ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle"

This happened before when I had CS6. I'm now using CC and haven't had problems until now. I again get the hang up while loading. Previously I trashed the loading ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle file and this solved the problem.

I tried to contact support. I thought my subscription to CC included support, apparently not.

Anyone else have this Problem?

Premiere Pro CC 2014 freezes frequently and crashes

Since upgrading from Premiere Pro CC to Premiere Pro CC 2014 my projects crash in regular intervals, which didn't happen before.

All my settings and presets have been pulled across fine, but suddenly relatively slim projects get stuck during editing, rendering or exporting. The progress bar stops, the preview screen freezes and that's it. I can only radically crash the sucker. I did delete all preview files and it improved marginally... only that the time until it froze took a few minutes longer.

 

I'm on 64bit high-end Windows 7 machine and have never had this problem with previous versions of Premiere Pro.

Very frustrated.

Imported MOV files are running choppy and I can't edit in the source window..anybody can you walk me thru how to fix?

My MOV files are choppy in the SOURCE window where I'm trying to edit.  Please help....I have a camera that I use for that is drone footage no audio and it imports fine; never choppy easy to edit.  Now I'm trying to import video from my Lumix; it's bringing in audio that I don't need but the files are choppy and am unable to edit.  Have been watching tutorials but I can't seem to fix the problem still.

Is there a way to make the outline of your text expand over time?

Hi guys,

Is there a way to make the outline of a font expand over time? I can't figure out how to do it by keyframes because it's not an actual effect. I just want the outline to get thicker over the course of 30 seconds. I feel like this should be a super simple thing to figure out, but I've searched and can't find anything. Thanks for your help!!

Premiere CC for Mac - How do I fix fisheye from a GoPro Hero 3+ video?

Hi all,

 

First up, I'm very new to Premiere - my experience is probably less than 2 hours at this point.  To disspell any concern over whether or not I'm using a licensed copy of Pr - yes, I am.  I subscribe to Creative Cloud because of my need for Lr, Ps and Ai. 

 

Anyway, I've got a GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition camera and would like to learn how to remove the fisheye effect caused by the crazy wide video that produces.  In 1920x1080 "SuperView" I think it's some like 170+ degrees of view vs 127 degrees in "normal" wide mode.  Those figures might not be 100% correct but they're close.

 

With SuperView there's some insane fisheye going on - as you'd expect, I guess.  Using the GoPro software there's an option to remove it but that produces video with an aspect ratio that looks squashed.  People are super tall and I lose some of the captured video at the top & bottom when watching.

 

In Premiere for Windows, I believe there's a video effect calls Lens Distortion - it's not there on my Mac version of Premiere CC.  The tutorial I watched set the Lens Distortion to -27 and I'd like to try it.  Can't though - that effect isn't there.

 

Is it possible to remove fisheye using Premiere CC for Mac only i.e. completely bypass the GoPro software?  If anyone's wondering why I want to bypass the GoPro software - the answer is "just coz."

Using 2 different GPUs at the same time?

PPro CC 2014's performance with AVCHD files (multiple cameras) is so poor, I'm wondering if it's time to throw 2 GPUs into my workstation and see if that makes a difference.My current rig has a GTX 780 installed and while it was smooth as butter with previous versions of PPro, it seems to not suffice now with PPro CC 2014. I also have 2 older GTX 680, and several GTX 560 (I think) cards stored away.

Instead of forking out another $5-600 for yet another video card, is it possible to get PPro to work with

1) GTX 780

and a

2) GTX 680

in the same computer? If so, can I force PPro to use the 780 for its MPE-related activities, and have the 680 just do the "monitor duties"? (I usually have 2 monitors attached at any given time.)

Or a mix thereof?

Does it HAVE to be 2 of the same GPUs?

Or should I use the 2 x GTX 680 and ditch the GTX 780?

 

What's your recommended approach, if any?

 

I want to make it clear that my system was perfectly smooth and worked without an issue with previous versions of PPro, including last year's version. The performance issues only happened since PPro CC 2014.

Common issues are laggy playback, dropped audio, frequent low-memory warnings (ONLY happens while working in PPro). Of course I run memory tests and keep the system clean (no unneeded programs like anti-virus, games, etc.) .

 

Here's my main rig:

 

Windows  8.1

Intel i7 3930K (Hexa core) @ 3.20 Ghz ( performance improvement even if overclocked to 4 Ghz but then it's quite unstable so I usually do not overclock anymore)

Motherboard is Asus Rampage IV Extreme

32 GB Ram

Current card: GTX 780 (currently only 1)

 

SDD 1: OS, Programs

SSD 2: Source files

SSD 3: Media Caches

SSD 4: Deliverables

SSD 5: misc stuff like titles, watermarks, etc.

So I have used Pluraleyes with Premiere pro a few times with out issue, but today I am having a problem I can’t figure out. Pluraleyes syncs everything fine and creates the XML file. But when I load it into PP I don’t get my clips and synced audio like normal, I just get to long nothing clips that you see in the picture. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Expanding a small aspect ratio?

Hello.  I filmed some footage on a nikon d5000 on a telephoto lens.  Now I see that in the program monitor, the clip is very small inside the larger whole frame.  Is there anyway to expand the actual image to fill an entire frame?  I'm not looking for quality here, I'm just trying to have this footage fill a 11"-ish screen.  Thank you very much.

File doesn't show up in AME queue

I'm loading a file from PP into AME to encode Avid DNxHD file but it doesn't appear in the queue. I can do a direct Export but that stops me from working in Premiere while that happens. This has also happened when encoding a DVD Mpeg file. Do I need to reset AME somehow?

I have a transcoding issue

I was DITing on a pilot yesterday, the production asked me to sound sync the rushes and transcode them to a format suitable for Avid, so I contacted the post house looking after the edit for a specific codec; they specified XDCAM HD .MXF files.

 

So I used Premier Pro to do the sync and media encoder for the export. But today the post house are saying they can't view the files in Avid, they they are 'Premier Pro' .MXF's. Annoyingly I've only been able to speak to the account executive that deals with the production company I've been working for and not the Tech who's been ingesting the files, So I've not been able to get any more details about the issue.

 

But personally this sounds like nonsense, I was under the impression that an .MXF was a .MXF and that the software used to create it had no bearing on the finished file, or am I wrong?

Premier Pro CC- No Dolby Audio License

Thanks in advance for your help-

 

First of all, I'm a serious noob, so please bear with me.  I have Premier Pro CC on a Windows 8 machine, and need to edit video that I recorded for a client.  I used a rented video camera that outputs to AVCHD format.  When I import these clips into PP-CC, I get the following warning:

The video I'm trying to edit has 2 channel stereo audio.  When I add the video to the timeline, there is no audio track and when I play it, no audio is heard.  Additionally, when I play the clip through Windows Media Player the audio can be heard.

 

Any help here??

Problem with rendering Splitscreen Video

Everytime I want to render or export Splitscreen Videos that i built in my timeline, Premiere and also the Media encoder are giving up after a few seconds. The Hardware can't be the Problem. I have a Macbook Pro Retina 2,5 Ghz with a 2GB Graphics and a very fast SSD 500GB.
Can anyone help me?

Hello,

 

I've searched high and low for tutorials and even purchased BCC witness protection. I cannot use either of them successfully. When I attempt to apply a mosiac over the sample video, the next step is to select the eclipse tool below the effect. I do not have these options under the mosaic effect. Can somebody please help me?

Premiere CC 2014 - "serious error and needs to shut down" - fix?

After a few days of successful editing, I am now constantly encountering this error message: "a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down."

 

I am using a 2013 MacBook Pro. I have seen this concern raised on other threads, but they seem to be addressed to Windows users.

MXF IMX30 (D10) Delivery format - Help needed

I have just been sent the delivery specs for a project, they are


MXF IMX30 (D10) 4:2:2 720x608 (720 x 576 active picture area) 25FPS Upper-Field-First 16:9 FHA 30Mb/s with 2 Channel 16Bit 48KHz PCM Audio


In both Premiere and AME I can select MXF-IMX but the only similar option is PAL 30, which doesn't quite do it. The 720x608 element is the sticking point I think. Can anyone please advise me how I can get my 30 second edit shot on an Epic into the above specs?
