Premiere Pro CC and the New Mac Pro (2014)

$

I'm expecting delivery soon of a new Mac Pro, nicely loaded, which I purchased mainly because of all the work I do with video. Yet, I read in a review that Adobe Premiere Pro isn't optimized to take advantage of the new Mac Pro, won't run faster, and I'm better off using Apple's Final Cut.

1. Is this true?; and

2. If so, will Premiere Pro be updated any time soon to run best on a 2014 Mac Pro?

My new Mac Pro will have the following configuration:

3.5GHz 6-core with 12MB of L3 cache

32GB (4x8GB) of 1866MHz DDR3 ECC

1TB PCIe-based flash storage

Dual AMD FirePro D700 GPUs with 6GB of GDDR5 VRAM each

Premiere Pro CC Problems

Hello,

I'm operating on a brand new desktop setup and recently installed Premiere Pro CC and other applications.

I'm having issues with Premiere Pro CC. Many times the program gets slowed down during different times of editing. I get a rainbow wheel sometimes when resuming back to work or moving down the timeline, and other times the video won't playback at all (just black) but the audio will play.

When I force quit it does fully close out the application and I have to go into task manager. And sometimes when I want to launch the program it unsuccessfully launches. No error message it will just never load.

Is this just a bug? Should re-installing the program be the solution? It's an up-to-date version as I've only been using everything for two weeks and just ran into the problem.

Outputing as 2K in a good editing Codec

I'm finding it difficult to find a good 2K editing codec to output with in Media Encoder. I usually use DNx but there is no 2K options. The only thing I can find is DPX but that seems to output as stills. There is H.264 but that's not really great for editing as far as I understand it.

So is there currently an option in Media Encoder to export to a decent 2K video editing codec?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Highly Dissatisfied. I placed an order for montly membership of Adobe Premiere. My debit card was billed for $21 on my online banking statement. Now they are telling me I have to wait 2 to 3 days until it is resolved. Adobe has to figure a better way

I am highly dissatisfied with Adobe.  I am thinking I will need to find another video editing solution because these guys are really making me angry.  I placed an order for the monthly membership and my debit card shows being billed be $21 and now I being told I will have to wait 2 to 3 business days until  what ever issue they have is resolved.  I did some online research and this is a common occurrence with Adobe.  I am thinking if this is how Adobe starts off will this continue as a common occurrence every time there cloud service has a hiccup.  In fact I hate their cloud service.  I wish they would go back to the old days..  Adobe if you are reading.  If you are going to offer cloud service then had better come up with a better solution because this is flat out ridiculous.

How do I get rid of this audio curve terror?

Recently, Premiere Pro has been doing something extremely annoying. It really feels like yet another one of those annoyances that are added to commercial software purposely to frustrate users.

I'm talking about when you add keyframes for the audio tracks to control the volume, the curves randomly start "bending" without you having told them to do so. I want them to be straight lines, but they are "bending" curves instead. They seem to turn into this "mode" randomly, without any apparent way to turn the damn thing off. Also, it's apparently impossible to select AND MOVE "dots" (keyframe icons) once they are placed, without instead changing their "curve". Why anyone would ever want this behavior, especially by default, escapes me.

How do I make it behave properly, like it used to be? I use CC.

Note: Please don't respond if your nickname is "shooternz", because then the replies will consist of "What are you asking? You give us nothing to go on." and the discussion will be derailed like every other time in the past.

10 Hours To Render a video?

Hi, so I normally edit videos in premiere that are 5-10mins, I add logo, color correction and that's it. Using media encoder they usually take 15-20 minutes. Now I have edited a video in AE, imported to premiere and go to encode with the media encoder. Now it says upwards of 10+ hours? For my settings, computer specs and effects I used on AE, is this correct? I have more RAM coming tomorrow so I will have a total of 16gb soon. I am new to all this, just started AE today. Please help. Thank you so much!

Adobe Premiere Pro CC Glitches Screen & Crashes Computer

I have been experiencing this problem for about three weeks now. I am editing on a MacBook Pro with 2.4 GHz i7, 16GB RAM, 250SSD, Thunderbolt to 3TB drive, and a thunderbolt-DVI adapter to Apple Cinema Display. I am editing 4K RED EPIC footage and my computer is wigging out on me.

I have been editing high quality footage on this machine with these drives and settings for a while. I originally thought this was a CUDA issue or graphics card issue. I switched to OpenCL and edited for a while and had the same issue again. I even took my machine to Apple and they put a new logic board and graphics chipset in it because we thought that would solve the issue. Again, same problems. I originally thought this might be just a Premiere Pro issue, however today I was exporting a 10 minute 4K, downgrade to 1080p video in AME and had the same glitch issue. This is what happens when a crash occurs:

  1. Slowed perfomance of timeline and video responsiveness
  2. Program window goes either Black, White, or Gray (when this happens, I know it's game over... Thank you Auto-Save)
  3. Clicking, Moving Mouse, Typing, ANYTHING from there gives me a completely glitching out display for around 1 minute
  4. Whole screen goes black, seconds later...
  5. Log in screen

The attached pictures give you an idea of what the screen is looking like when the glitch occurs.

Anyone experience this issue? Everything I have is up to date including CUDA, the Apps themselves, everything.

THANKS!

I recently upgraded to adobe Premiere Pro CC from CS5.5 and for a while it was working fine, then all of a sudden a random crash appeared saying "Adobe Premiere Pro CC has stopped working" and no solution is found so forcibly it quits. I have restarted my computer and still the error happens whenever I launch the sequence I am working on. This is extremely furstrating!

I use Premiere Pro CC

I have installed the latest updates

Windows 7

I use Dxtory for my footage and the codec is Dxtory Video Codec at 29.97 and the files are .avi

Premiere crashes when importing footage to timeline

I'm using the latest version of Premier Pro CC -I've just updated it using the Adobe Creative Cloud-, and it crashes anytime I import video, audio, titles and any footage to the timeline.

I was using CS6 before and everything worked fine. That problem occurs both with old files and new ones.

I'm using Windows 7 profesional 64 bits.

I don't really know what information provide to help you to solve it! Any idea of what's going on?

FAQ: How do I set up a USB microphone in Premiere Pro?

Users have indicated that adding a USB microphone for recording voice overs in Premiere Pro is difficult. Here is a document which will help you set that up here.

Restoring video after original source clips have been deleted

$

I have had a look around for an answer for this already, but I'm obviously here as I haven't found an answer. After doing a PC reset and reinstalling Premiere Pro, I've found that two folders- each containing video files imported from my camera, have been deleted, meaning that the clips have been classed as 'Offline' on my project timeline. I found the files on my cameras SD card so I moved them back to my PC, but is there anyway of syncing these 'new' clips into the timeline with the same properties as the edited versions which I had?

Sorry if this doesn't make sense, but I am an A Level student, not 100% familiar with PP.

Any help would be appreciated

Hello everybody,

i have the problem, that my program is crushing sometimes, while i am typing text into the text field in the Marker window.

it wont save before crushing, and following fault indication will pop up:

Screen Shot 2015-06-09 at 15.21.59.pngScreen Shot 2015-06-09 at 15.22.03.png

only thing i could find online is that it might be a bug in premiere, if you accidentally use a combination on the keyboard.

Anyhow, these crushes became much more frequently and have to mark 10h of footage.

Any recommendations??

Thank you..

I cut my original project in half already and the second half exported fine (also 12 minutes), but the first half won't export at 720p to wmv. Any ideas?

Flickering footage in Premiere Pro CC 2014 but not in Premiere Pro CC 2013

Hi guys,

I've been having repeated issues with Premiere Pro CC 2014 on Windows. Basically my footage has a weird strobe/flicker when in the suite and when rendered off even although the footage looks fine, unaltered out of the camera. I rendered off the same footage in the 2013 edition of the software and there is no flicker/strobing going on. I've included one of the worst effected shots in CC 2014 and CC 2013 for comparison.I also experience graphical glitches occasionally when rendering. Please watch below:

Premiere Pro CC 2014 - strobing (300% speed, cropped 15%, RGB curve adjustment, software rendered)

YouTube

Premiere Pro CC 2013 - strobing (300% speed, cropped 15%, RGB curve adjustment, software rendered)

Premiere Pro CC 2013 - no flickering - YouTube

The footage was shot on a Nikon D3200 at 1080p 25fps, aperture 3.5, shutter 1/50, ISO 400.

Dell Optiplex 9020

Intel i5-4570 3.2 Ghz

Has anyone else experienced this issue? My suspicion is an issue with either my graphics card or insufficient RAM.

Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 crashes on Windows 7, Dell Latitude E7440, it earlier showed me the error message (41) and said to restart the program. After trying to restart premiere a few times, updating my system, reinstalling creative cloud as well as premiere pro CC 2014.2 nothing changed at all. What else could i do to fix the problem? The earlier version before updating premiere did work. Thanks in advance for a helping answer....

Green speckles on the viewer window.

I keep getting green speckles on the viewer window. These stop when I play the timeline but reappear when I pause the footage. They sometimes seem to pulse or move when I'm in pause mode also. Very weird. These speckles are starting to come onto master files when I export them, so I can't use Premiere properly.  Anybody have any ideas what they are?
