Deleting Rendered Files to save space

$

0

This should be a very basic question -

After completing a project - is there any downside to going into the folder on windows and deleting all the files entitled "Rendered - nnnnnetc" both the media files and the xmp files?  I realize that if for some reason I want to go back later to work on the project I would have to render it all again - but I am looking for a way to clean disk space and I would not mind rendering again if that is the only difference.  I just do not want to destroy anything.

Premiere Pro Keeps Crashing

So, I am new to this software and I tried to open it to get practice but it continues to crash on me. Some of my friends who are familiar with this program told me that it may be my storage on my computer and that I will probably have to let something go such as my Sims game.

Audio editing in Premiere - How to remove/mute background music?

$

I am currently running an older version of Premiere (6.5) and considering upgrading to the “Cloud” but have a question first.  Is there an option in the new version (or in my version for that matter) of Premiere to remove background music or at least reduce its volume?  I know the version I am currently using can reduce noise in the background but I want to take out/reduce the music volume playing in the background during an interview.  The person talking on the video clip has a label mic but the music is still too loud.

Thx

Adjust audio speed creates tunnel sound. How to fix?

$

I captured some dialogue audio for a voice-over on a product video, and after editing out the white noise and background sounds in Audition, my audio clips sound pretty good. No buzz, no echo, no static. Just good clean and clear audio of the lady reading the script.

However, when putting it into the video in Premiere Pro CC 2017, I realized that she was speaking much too slow to fit the time requirements for the video, so I needed to increase the audio file speed by almost 10% to get it all to fit inside the time constraints and match the visuals. Under Speed/Duration for each audio clip, I selected "Maintain Audio Pitch" so I don't get the "chipmunk" sounding voice, but I noticed that there is now a serious "tunnel effect" to the audio. I tried to clean it up using the Essential Sound panel in Premiere, and after testing different options, chose the Dialogue option with Background Voice equalizer settings, the Background Walla Walla preset, Enhanced Speech Male and a Warm Voice reverb. It sounds much better now, but I still keep getting a slight "tunnel effect" versus the original audio clip set at normal speed.

Is there a straightforward way to clean out the tunnel sound? Any recommended settings I should try instead of what I chose?

Again, it sounds perfect at 100% speed, but even with adjustments, I still get a tunnel sound at 110% speed.

I can't move/play the CTI after scrolling timeline with mouse wheel

I'm having an issue where if I scroll the timeline using the mouse wheel, I can't move the CTI (playhead) to a different spot on the first click. It will move if I click a second time. I also can't play the CTI using a keyboard shortcut neither... it will play on the second attemp.

Steps to Reproduce Bug:

1. Position the CTI in the middle of the timeline

2. Scroll the timeline a little bit using the mouse

3. Click anywhere in the timeline to move the CTI to OR try playing the timeline using a shortcut key

Results:

The CTI won't move on the first click. It will move on the second click. OR the timeline won't play on the first attempt, it will play on the second attempt.

Expected Results:

I expected the CTI to move on the first click. This is especially annoying when you're trying to quickly scrub through dialog. My overall workflow has slowed down because of this issue.

Anybody else have this issue?

Hey Everyone,

I am having a similar issue, except its with the latest premiere (11.1 and now 11.2) and it crashes immediately upon start up.  I tried the whole un-install/reinstall, new project and the import old project game and nothing sames to be working.

I am working on a big-ish project with a lot of mixed media, C100 AVCHD, Blackmagic pocket RAW, C300, FS5 XAVC, and FS7 XAVC.  Below are my specs to my computer:

Multicam Sequence: Replace multi-cam sequence that is already in an edit sequence?

$

Hey guys,

I work on a TV show and we deal with big multi-cam sequences with several cameras.

Occasionally we receive go-pro footage with no timecode that needs to be added to a certain multi-cam sequence. I manually bring the gopro clips into the multi-cam sequence in my project.  Since we have multiple editors working on the show we have to keep consistency across the board.  I wish I could have them import my new multi-cam sequence (containing the new gopro clips) through the media browser and replace the old one with this one instead of manually syncing up the new gopro clips in every editors sequence.

I was wondering if there was a way to replace a multi-cam sequence that is already cut up in an edit sequence with a new multi-cam sequence?  This way it would reference the new MC sequence as opposed to the old MC sequence (without the gopro angles).

Example:

Multi-cam Sequence A contains Clip 1 and Clip 2.  MC Sequence A is brought into an edit sequence and cut up with angles switching.

Clip 3 arrives and needs to be added to MC Sequence A. I manually add Clip 3 into the MC Sequence.  Now I have to do this for 3 other editors instead of having them easily import the new MC Sequence into their project and replace the old mc sequence with the new.

The obvious answer to this is having all of your footage before creating multicam sequences but we occasionally get footage after the main A and B cams footage arrives.

Audio track goes quiet after relinking media

Latest version of CC. ProResLT Linear PCM footage

Just discovered that after moving media into a new Finder folder, it goes offline (obviously) in PrPro, I relink it, everything comes back fine...except for the main audio track is quiet. Waveform is there, the other 3 audio tracks are there and play fine, but this one (the actor's lav) track is quiet in Source Monitor and Timeline. Tried offlining and relinking again, no change.

Moved files back to original folder and reopened project to find that audio track is back so I'm leaving it alone, but am still confused why a single audio track would go quiet after relinking when the waveform is still there. No effects applied.

Can't see (but CAN hear) audio waveforms in a project

Hi there, I'm working on a film and when I want to go to an audio file and take a small cut I just can't see any waveform, just a flat line. this really complicates the selecting process and I dont know how to fix it or what causes it.

Any clues?

Captions jittery on imported SRT file

$

Hi All,

So I have a SRT file that I received to burn into a feature film. I brought the SRT file into Adobe Premiere 11.1.1  & 11.1.2 and it looks a bit blurry and when playing the sequence the font is shaky/jittery. The SRT file has a frame rate of 1000?

The specs on this SRT file are:

1920 x 1080

01;20;13;10, 1000.00 fps

VR Projection: None

Now I have gotten it to visually look better and not be jittery by selecting the SRT file in my project and then right clicking and modifying the captions Pixel Aspect Ratio from D1/DV NTSC (0.90901)  to Square Pizels (1.0). Now once that is selected the captions look fine except now the first caption in the film stays on screen for 7-10 minutes before moving onto Caption #2 which stays on again for another 10 minutes and so instead of hundreds of captions it will only show about 15 for a entire feature film.

Sidenote: I can bring the SRT file only into the sequence if I drag and drop from the folder in my finder, if its in the project I can't drag in it.

I have messed with a bunch of other settings in the modify options but anytime the captions look good we get the problem listed above. Does anyone have a solve for this? Creating a new caption from scratch works fine but it would be extremely annoying to have to re-caption a entire feature film

Frame to match video proportions

$

Total newbie here! I am using premier pro cc 2017.1.2 for the first time and my goal is to do something I think should be simple but of course I am having issues with it. I am creating a series of screen cast videos and I want to be able to reduce them from their full screen size.

I am doing the screen capturing with Camtasia. My files are 1620 pixels wide. In Camtasia reducing the actual frame size reduces the video quality too much so

I decided to try Premier Pro. The quality is better when I scale the video down but I cannot for the life of me get the frame size to match the actual video area.

I am changing the scale setting but can’t seem to get the frame size to match, there is always a border, or it is not in the right proportion.

In the effect panel, position seems to just move the scaled video around the frame area, the same seems to be happening with anchor points. If I do get close when I go to import it as an animated gif, that is the format I have been asked for, the dimensions return to the default frame size.

I guess what I want to be able to do is crop the frame size to match my video area. Is that possible? Any tutorials I find that address this seem to be on older versions with a slightly different interface, as in nothing I need is where they say it is.

Thanks in advance for the help,

RL

Win 10, Premiere Pro CC2017 & Decklink Mini Sync

$

Hi,

I reached out to Adobe chat to see if they could provide help, however they were of no help in the matter.

I am running the latest (as of today) version of Premiere Pro CC2017 on an X99 platform running Windows 10. I have a blackmagic mini monitor (not the 4K) fully updated with the latest drivers.

I'm running the decklink to an FSI AM210 via HDSDI. I have no issues regarding sync, or anything else for that matter when using other software such as DaVinci Resolve. It is only when using Premiere Pro that I'm finding Mercury Transmit is introducing about 3.5 frames (at 23.976) worth of delay into the signal. This is consistent while scrubbing, playback, etc.. Both audio and video.

Anyone else run into this sort of scenario? I have triple checked that all devices are up to date, my system is more than capable of playing back any file up to 8K RED Helium footage real-time.. so there is no bottleneck there.

Thanks,

W

Mouse Cursor Disappears in Premiere Pro CC 2017

I have lately been working in Premiere Pro CC 2017, and it seems like any little edit makes my cursor disappear, and I need to force quit and restart the program.  I am using Open Captions, and when trying to adjust them, the mouse disappeared.  Whenever I use the Pen Tool to adjust the opacity or volume, the mouse cursor disappears, as well (happens the most often with this).  This seems to happen at random intervals.  Sometimes it is right after I open the project, sometimes it is after I have had the project open for some time.  I'm not quite sure what is causing this.  Could I please get some advice on how to solve this issue?

BUG? Pr to AE Cross Dissolve Transitions

$

Please let me know if you can reproduce this bug or if I'm going crazy.

This page last updated in May says it should still be possible:

Cross-application workflows

Steps to reproduce:

  • A sequence in Premiere Pro with standard Cross Dissolve effects between some of the cuts
  • Send to After Effects
  • No opacity keyframes in After Effects; video transitions are lost completely

I've tried both copy/pasting, and selecting everything and Replace With After Effects Composition. Neither create keyframes and the dissolves get lost.

Note: I'm fully up to date (2017.1.1) on Windows 10.

CC Optical Flow: crash when rendering

Hi, i have a pretty big project and want to render with optical flow.

There are speed ramps, not just a change of speed for the whole clip.

Tiny parts (like 3-5 seconds) of the clips can be rendered (looks awesome) but for the whole sequence it crashes again and again...

Project is on external drive, rendered to dropbox, to desktop, to external drive...just crashes.

Here is the log file for the crash. Any idea is appreciated.

GH5 footage trouble

HELP! I can't be the only one with this problem. So when I edit my GH5 footage (8 bit) in premiere (up to date) it's all good but as soon as I go to change highlights/shadows, half of my clips in the timeline goes red. I'm using Mercury playback engine GPU acceleration. Switched it to software only and I still have problems. It's killing me, please if someone could help me that would be great.

Immediate Crash on Mac OS Sierra

This just started happening after I updated Premiere to 11.1 and now 11.2, but every time I open up my project, it immediately crashes when I start playback of my sequence.  The project is large and contains a mixture of different media AVCHD, Blackmagic RAW, and XAVC all running off of a Pegasus.  I've had no issues when using other versions of Premiere, only started yesterday when I updated to 11.1 and now 11.2.   I am really stumped and I reached out to apple and tried the following solutions: re-install premiere, importing the project into a new project, re-installing OS Sierra, starting premiere as a guest user, and starting in safe mode. So far, nothing. Is anyone else having this issue?

Video Quality Issue in Premier Pro

Hi all

I am trying to create a video for a facebook header and the pixel dimensions are 830x312.

I have created a new sequence and set up the custom dimensions to be as above. When I then import an existing clip (which is at 1920x1080), the video quality is highly pixelated. Once the clip is in the sequence, I am altering the scale to make it fit but the quality is still poor.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here as the clip quality is obviously higher that the new sequence dimensions?

I'm a photographer so my Premier Pro skills are basic to intermediate at best.

Cheers

Proper Workflow For Exporting SD Using HD Source Footage?

What is the proper workflow for exporting standard definition (720x480 4:3) mpeg-2 files using HD footage as the source in Premiere Pro CC 2017?  Do I just edit the HD video in an HD project timeline and then export to SD mpeg-2 using the Media Encoder or do I start an SD project and use the Scale to Frame Size or Set as Frame Size feature to scale the HD video on the SD timeline?  Which workflow is the best to use for HD to SD conversion?  Thanks
