Captions frame settings missing in Premiere 2017 11.1.2

When I create a new captions track in the Premiere 2017 11.1.2 there is no longer a dialog box for video settings. the caption track comes in at 640x480. Is there a way to change the video settings for captions? On older versions a dialog box would come up with frame size, frame rate, etc before creating the caption track. On this version when creating a new captions track - there is no dialog for the video settings, just the dialog for the CC type (open, closed, etc)

I'm creating CC 608 & 708 Tracks for broadcast - 1920x1080 - 29.97 and the Captions at 640x480 do not display properly. On previous versions my CC tracks could be set to the proper frame size 1920x1080. I must be missing a setting somewhere?

New automatically highlighted clips on timeline function

Is there a way to turn off this new function in Premiere Pro that highlights a clip automatically when you change the position of the playhead on the timeline, or sometimes even zoom in or out?

For instance, I selected a bunch of clips to work with:

Screen Shot 2017-06-27 at 10.48.20 AM.png

But then if I change the zoom or move the playhead--not clicking anywhere but the ruler at the top-- it automatically selects the one clip it's parked on. I'd like to turn off this function if possible. Thank, Paul

GPU Acceleration

Hi, I have an older GPU (NVidia GTX 560) and I would love to utilize the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration function.  I have updated the driver.  I also have the most recent version of CC 2017.  Unfortunately, I've been getting some conflicting info on forums.  Do I need to go into my system and add GTX 560 to the list of GPU's, or will CC 2017 automatically recognize the card and allow GPU acceleration?   Please let me know.  Thank you.

Why I can't find Animated GIF option when exporting in Premier Pro CC?

I am a MAC user and have been trying to export a video clip of 3 seconds as Animated GIF. I have gone through too many tutorial and all I see is that the easiest way is to export as Web Legacy in Photoshop but I wish to do it in Premier Pro. However when I look for export options, I can't find Animated GIF option

Screen Shot 2017-06-27 at 7.47.36 PM.png

Its very frustrating to watch videos on youtube ( Making Gif file from Video in Adobe Premiere Pro - YouTube ) where I see Animated GIF option but its not available with me, although I have updated my app.

On various forums I have read that such option may not be available for MAC but only for WINDOWS? Is that true ? If that is true does Adobe expects me to switch to WINDOWS from MAC ?

Further more I also do not see the video codec option in my Export Option:

Screen Shot 2017-06-27 at 8.10.52 PM.png

Where as on a discussion forum I see OTHER USERS sharing this option (below image)

Screen Shot 2017-06-27 at 8.10.16 PM.png

I would appreciate I am guided through this since I have a project pending. And please dont suggest to go to Photoshop CC to export as GIF because in Photoshop I get very pixelated GIF quality as seen below:
Screen Shot 2017-06-27 at 8.16.10 PM.png
The dimensions are 1334px x 750px and the duration is 3 seconds. I keep hearing that GIF only supports 256 colors thats why it gives pixelated grains but I have seen numerous GIF without pixilation.
So my question remains: Why I can't export Animated GIF in Adobe Premier Pro CC on my MAC
NOTE: Please dont just answer for the sake of points. Answer only if you can get me a solution exactly what I asked for.
Thank you.

"Replace With Clip" not working

$

I just upgraded to Premiere Pro CC 2017. Much to my dismay, the "Replace With Clip" functionality is not working.

I've restarted Premiere and restarted my computer with no results. I'm certain I have the clip selected in the bin and the clip selected in the timeline.

I'm working on a PC running Windows 7 with plenty of RAM (16GB). I've never had this problem until I upgraded to 2017.

Here's a screenshot. The "Replace With Clip" item is greyed out in the contextual menu. My keyboard shortcut to "Replace With Clip from Bin" does not work either.

I use this function all the time and need to find a solution pronto!

Scaling problem, urgent!

Hi guys!

I'm working on a project with around 100 4K-clips and thought I'd save some time and set the default to "scale to frame size" on import. Now I have realized that was a huge mistake, since it's not working like the scale function inside Premiere's motion panel and I actually lose resolution. I have also made proxies for almost all of the clips due to the fact it's almost impossible to edit DJI Phantom 4 pro clips directly in the timeline. The clips are then sorted into maybe 30 sequences named by location and from them I cut and paste into the final movie sequence. All original clips are 4K and the sequences are 1920x1080 as will the final export be.

So my question is. Do I have to do everything all over again including the proxies or is there a smart way to do this? I need to get the resolution back to zoom and correct tilted horizons and other creative stuff.

I'm on Premiere Pro CC 2017, an iMac 5K 4Ghz Intel Core i7 with 24GB RAM running OSX 10.11.6.

Thank you,

Roger

Remove Attributes Bug?

Hey guys,

Ever since I upgraded to the latest version of Premiere (both on my Macbook and PC) I've noticed a bug (i'm hoping it's a bug!) with the Remove Attributes Options.

Previously, when I clicked Remove Attributes, Motion and Opacity were ticked by default.. However now they're unticked.. this may not sound like a big deal but it adds a lot of time onto my work day as I use Remove Attributes a lot.

I was wondering if this was deliberate? if so, why? Is there a way to change the defaults?

Thanks!

interlacing progressive video Question

Hi Guys,

Im using prem pro 2017 v 11.0

Seq settings Sony XDCAM EX1080i (HQ)     The output does have to be interlaced.

I need to mix DJI drone clips that have been shot in progressive 60P, (59.94 P actually I believe) with  interlaced clips 59.94i that I have taken on either my Sony PMW 500 XDcam or my sony fs5.

Im finding when I put the drone clips to the interlaced time line they are ok but once rendered out they fall apart.

Im hoping there is a simple solution to clip settings on Drone (progressive) clips to make them behave like interlaced clips.

The .mov drone clips look as good as they should as a clip.

Should I expect this mix of progressive and interlaced clips to an interlaced time line to look as pristine as I believe it should?

Is there a simply step by step solution for me on this?

Title Fonts

I'm asking again because it never was answered:

This is kind of a straight forward question yet still cant find the answer after digging for awhile. No good tutorials on how to do this. I have tons of fonts and as you know their also available in typekit, but how do you make them available for titles in Premiere Pro CC?

If this has already been answered, then link me and I'll decide that for myself. Otherwise, I running windows 10, and thanks for the help in advanced!

Apparently, but although I doubt if you  Right click>Install on the font, it will install into premiere pro. &  If you do that with all Adobe programs closed, and the font isn't showing up in PP, then it's a font that PP can't use.  You'll need to choose another. But I haven't found a font that this works with so that leaves us with the question

is there a list of fonts that PP can use?

Where is it?

Thanks for reading.

Viewing audio waveform on Source side

[Re Premiere Pro CS 6 ]

Is there no way to view video & audio waveform at the same time, like in FCP, where I can drag out the audio panel into a separate window?

I can switch between video & audio via popup, but I would like to see both at the same time.

Or, at least, use a hotkey to switch, but there does not seem to be a command for that in the keyboard editor!

(Considering switching our office from FCP 7 ... but some key features are still missing!)

thanks

manage multicamera angles

$

There has gotta be a way...

So I do multicam all the time - I am editing a show right now with 3 camera angles, but one of my camera operators was new and did a stupid thing: During the concert he stopped and started his machine after each number, thus breaking his media into 9 separate clips. In FCPX this is no problem - I just specify which clips belong to which angles and the multicam clip comes out with all those segmented clips in the same angle. HOWEVER, PrPro sees every clip as its own separate ANGLE, creating a multicam sequence with 12 angles, amking it very difficult to use the program monitor in multicamera mode. The individual angles are tiny and the broken clips move around from one number to another. I can probably get through this, but there has to be a way to make this happen correctly. ALSO, in the PrPro CC help file it says tere is an "edit cameras" dialog available when the multicam clip is loaded in the source monitor, but no such option exists:

Organize and select camera angles to view in monitor's multi-camera mode

Premiere Pro lets you organize and select the angles to view in the Source Monitor's multi-camera mode.

From the Source monitor's pop-up menu, select Edit Cameras.

Yeah, no, that doesn't exist.

Can anyone help?

Editing the Tools Panel

Running Premiere Pro CC 2017 on Win8.1.

For some reason (some key which I have pressed inadvertently) the tools in my Tools Panel (one next to Timeline) got minimised. How do I edit the Tools panel (similar to that in Photoshop) so that I get all the tools displayed again?

I have reset the WorkSpace to saved default but nothing happened.

Also, I have just downloaded the latest premiere_pro_reference.pdf last updated 6/18/2016. On p 67 a section is titled "Tools Panel and Options Panel". But how do I get the Options Panel to display. I don't have an Options menu item in the Windows Menu. And clicking on the Tools menu item in the Windows Menu does not do anything. I cannot even deselect it.

Thank you for any help.
