Dialog error?

$

I am about half way through editing a project and this morning I moved all of the files onto an external hard drive and deleted them from the internal drive of the computer.  They were imported to premiere from the internal and now that I deleted them from the internal I am receiving a popup on premiere that says 'Dialog error! Unable to load dialog resource'. I already emptied them from the trash, but all the files are located on the external so should I move them back into the internal for the time being or is there an easier way to go about it?

Premiere pro overwrites part of following clip

So I have several clips in my timeline and all of a sudden one of the clips gets a flash of the previous clip and it can't be taken away. Even if I import the clip again ir try to move it. It's as though half a second of the previous clip has been copied and pasted above the following clip.

Can't find panel

I've been having a great time working with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro, but Premiere pro has been getting on my last nerve. As great as the program is it is absolutely horrible for new people if they accidentally close or click on the wrong thing. Trying to get the configuration back to where you started is a maddening experience. I tried looking for help in the FAQ, but the problem is, I don't even know what some of these work spaces are called to be able to search for them.

As shown in the picture, I'm trying to get the panel that would show the clips that are utilized in the project where you can modify the files, add/remove keyframes, whatever. It used to sit on the left side of my tool panel (default set up). I'm not speaking about the effects panel for those clips, as you can see, I already have access to them.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regular BSOD when working with the new titler

$

I just upgraded my computer to an i7 7820x to speed up editing and upgraded to the latest version of Premiere Pro.

Upon opening it for the first time, when the Adobe intro video starts, I get a BSOD right away with a general "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR" and the computer restarts.
When opening a project, everything seems to be working fine, except the tiltler: every single time I adjust the properties of a title (shadow, transparency, size, etc) I get a blue screen of death.

I tried everything: clean re-installation of windows, different drivers, older versions of GPU drivers. The computer always crashes on adjusting titles.

I also tried gaming like crazy (to put the system under intense stress) and everything works fine, so I think it's not a computer issue but a problem with Premiere Pro.

Now I'm stuck and I cannot proceed with my work.

My configuration is as follows:

Intel i7 7820x

Gigabyte X299 UD4

32Gb ram

1Tb M.2 SSD

Nvidia GTX 980 Ti

Latest version of Premiere Pro as of 13 august 2017

Thanks.

Change default nomenclature when duplicating clips, titles, etc.

Hola - I often Duplicate titles or bins when setting up my workflow in Premiere Pro CC (2017.1.1) and find it such a pain to have to individually edit each title, delete "Copy __" and have it match my own system. Is there anywhere in default settings to avoid this?

Thanks,

Resize mask while maintaining shape?

This is probably an elementary question, apologies because I can't seem to find an answer.

I want to create a rectangle and resize its proportions. I can resize it while keeping the default proportion, but there doesn't seem to be a way to draw a rectangle of the length and width I want while keeping square corners, besides tediously dragging each point and eyeballing the straight lines. Am I missing something?

After Effects comps are being imported as audio only.

I cannot figure out what is going on. I have three brief After Effects comps that I'd like to import into Premiere Pro. The first one imported perfectly, but the second and third are only importing as audio, despite the fact that I can see and preview the video in the assets window. I tried the Adobe Dynamic Link and got the same result. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Multiple peak files

Premiere is not recognising the exisiting peak files (stored next to the media) and generates new peak files whenever media is imported into a project.

I have the option checked - "Save Media Cache files next to originals when possible".

Has something changed with the way Premiere generates peak files making it necessary to regenerate them?

Or would this be triggered by something I have done?

How to re-enable master clip effects?

I have disabled masterclip effects across a couple hundred clips by selecting them all and choosing 'disable masterclip effects', but I cant figure out how to re-enable them other than going into each clip individually, and turning ON the FX button toggle for the effect in question...

I was hoping that I could just click an 'enable master clip effects' button where the 'disable master clips button' was

Am I not looking hard enough?

Generated Burnt-in Timecode Issues ! HELP!

Hi,

I encountered an issue with the generated timecode in Premiere Pro CC and was wondering  if anyone else had encountered this problem before and how do I fix it? maybe it's something I am missing out on but would like to get this solve as soon as possible.

I had generated a timecode on a transparent video layer for my sequence. My video was shot and edited on 23.976 so the closest option would be  to select the 24 fps framerate. While playing the sequence, What baffled me is that I notice the timecode would JUMP from one and doesn't run in order as it should. For Exp: the timecode would run till  01:17:20 and suddenly jump to 01.22.15 and later on jump back to 01.18.20 . This is puzzling as timecodes are so important and encountering one that does not run like it should is mind bothering. Is this a bug or setting issue. Maybe i am missing out on something ?

Would really appreciate it if someone could enlighten me on this. Thanks YOU !!!

Can't Record Premiere w/ NVENC Anymore (OBS)

$

Hi all,

I regularly make Premiere Pro tutorials, guides, and consultations for my work and rely on OBS Studio + the NVENC encoder to do so. This has worked flawlessly for me from at least ~2014 to earlier this year when one of the CC 2017 updates somehow just outright broke this possibility. (Other Nvenc-based plugins also stopped working around this time.)

Downgrading isn't really possible right now for a variety of reasons.

Any clue if this can be fixed or if there's a workaround? Previously I did everything on one graphics card - a GTX 1080. CUDA and Nvenc could exist side-by-side in harmony with no hiccups. Now, I've even bought a dedicated Quadro to run Nvenc in OBS and have used the Nvidia Control Panel to restrict any Adobe-related EXE I could find to only use the GTX 1080 for CUDA (since Premiere etc. doesn't give us the option to select GPU usage somehow) and that has not helped. I cannot set an outright global rule to only use the 1080 for CUDA since that just disables Nvenc on the Quadro outright, too.

I've tried everything I can think of, and it still doesn't work. I'm also not sure why the second GPU wouldn't be able to do it if it is a CUDA prioritization issue. The error logs in OBS result in the Nvenc engines just not being detected anymore - even within the same session as Nvenc encoding working 2 minutes prior.

20:14:51.847: error: OpenEncodeSessionEx failed: out of memory (10)

20:14:51.866: fatal: No NVENC capable devices found

20:14:51.866: [NVENC encoder: 'recording_h264'] Failed to open NVENC codec: Generic error in an external library

I also have an OBS forum thread here. But all I usually get is "well CUDA + Nvenc doesn't work now" - which isn't a good enough answer.

Specs:

  • Windows 10 Home 64-bit
  • OBS Studio 64-bit 19.0.3
  • Nvidia GTX 1080 (latest stable drivers)
  • Nvidia Quadro P400
  • Adobe Premiere Pro/AE/AME CC 2017 (latest updates)
  • CPU: i7-6900K (no Quick Sync Video)
  • 32GB RAM

Any help, workarounds, notification of a fix inbound, etc. would be greatly appreciated - I'm tearing my hair out here.

Sound does not match with images

I record phone screen to a video file with frame rate is 54 fps. When I play this video on PC, it's good. But when I open this video on PR CC 2014, the sound does not match with images on screen. I think the sound is faster than images. How to re render video and keep matching like source video? I don't know how to set frame rate 54fps?

Thank you !!

Loading C++ framework with external dependencies into ExtendScript

$

I am trying to integrate a C++ library into an existing extension for Adobe Premiere Pro. I am using ExtendScript ToolKit to integrate the C++ library with Javascript.

I have played around with the examples provided with ExtendScript ToolKit. I have created my own framework with simple functions and have been able to load and use the same with ExtendScript ToolKit.

But I get into trouble when I add additional libraries as dependency to my framework. When any dynamic library is added as a dependency to the framework I created, it fails to load in ExtendScript. I get 'I/O error' with no description. My guess is that ExtendScript ToolKit is unable to load the dependent libraries of my framework.

Is there a way to specify the paths to look for dependent libraries? What is the way forward?

Here is my ExtendScript code:

try {

var mylib = new ExternalObject("lib:/Volumes/Data/work/temp/sample.framework"); // load the library

    alert(mylib.version);

} catch (e) {

    alert(e)

}

Removing lut files

Hi

I have added a load of lut files into Premier but now I can't seem to delete them. I have tried the obvious method by going toC:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017\Lumetri\LUTs\Creative and deleting them from their but they still appear in my drop-down list. I assume they are being scored elsewhere on the computer but I have no idea where! Can anyone help me out? I'm using Windows 10

Thanks

Help! Audio Channel Options in Clip/ Modify Greyed Out

$

Hi guys

I'm in the latest version of CC 2017 and I work with XMF footage. I'm just about to do a multicam edit. As my Sony Z150 captures with 4 tracks, I go into clip/ modify/ audio channel and convert it into one channel for any clips I want to use in multicam. Last time I tried to make a preset, which wasn't successful. Today, however, All the channel options, including pre-sets are greyed out; it doesn't matter if a clip has been used or not in another sequence.

Is there a setting I have inadvertently switched on or off ? Any quick pointers on how to correct, please, would be welcome.

Regards,

Graham
