5.1 Channels Outputting To Wrong Speakers

My first time creating a sequence with 5.1 audio and I'm running into some weird problems. I'm running PPro CS5.5 on an iMac and outputting HDMI through the display port to a Denon 7.1Ch receiver. To prove that the mac is working properly I downloaded and ran a DD5.1 test AVI file that sent the correct output to the correct speakers. However...

In PPro I create a new sequence and select 5.1 from the Tracks tab. I then drag a MONO WAV file onto my audio track, bring up the mixer and move the puck to the L speaker, play and all is good. Move the puck to the right speaker, play and all is good. Move the puck to the center speaker and the sound comes out of my LR speaker. Move the puck to the LR speaker and the sound comes out of the FR speaker.

Does anyone know what can be going on? Bug perhaps? Or am I missing some important step in the process?

Cheers.
