I learned about Search Bins from another thread and find them a helpful start in organizing my footage. But, if I have multiple references to a single clip, my search bin will show multiple references. Is there a way to not show duplicates in a search bin without restricting myself to one iteration of a clip?
Why I care: I often work on long-format projects with a lot of footage. Usually I or an AE has brought into Premiere organized by the card it was shot on, the date it was shot, the stock supplier or some other reference. I find it very helpful to maintain that organization so, for example, if the producer wants a clip that was on March 3rd or came from Corbis, I can go to the appropriate folder.
But, most of the time, "March 3" or "Corbis" aren't particularly helpful bin names. So I then copy my footage into more specific bins like B-Roll or Interviews or Puppies. OK, now I've got two iterations of each clip. So then, when I'm ready to work with, say, all the B-Roll containing 'Dave,' I create a search bin called 'Dave.' And I've got two (at least) of every shot with 'Dave' in the search parameter. If Dave is my main character, that can be a lot of duplication and a big mess.
