Hi, I'm currently editing a music video in Premiere using dynamically linked comps in after effects. Once I'm finished with the AE comps and I go to Premiere to render clips (or the whole project in-out) Premiere will start to render previews as normal but shortly after it starts the render activity stalls. I then have to switch apps/desktops and go to the AE project and come back to Premiere (I have Premiere in one desktop and AE in another) in order for Premiere to sort of wake up again and continue rendering. Otherwise it just freezes. When I look at the Activity Monitor App (Mac) I can see that once I start rendering After Effects will allocate a good chunk of the CPU activity (60+%) only to suddenly drop to 10 or even 5% just after a couple of seconds. I've allocated 13 RAM out of my 16 RAM to be shared between Premiere and After Effects. It seems like after a couple of seconds it just freezes up, or like the RAM decides to stop working on its current course. As if I were putting to sleep the RAM activity. It is fixed by just quickly toggling desktops back and forth but it is very annoying as it forces me to have to do this non stop and sometimes render times take a while. I basically can't leave my computer rendering cause it won't do it unless I'm constantly moving between desktops and refreshing apps. Any ideas/solutions?
I would love to be able to start rendering and be able to go do something else and come back to a finished rendered timeline. Is that too much to ask? God help me.
