I just spend 4 hours editing a 30 minute video and there has to be a better way!

 

I have a 5 camera talk-show (podcast) shoot with 4 microphones.  There is 1 wide angle camera and 4 closeup cameras (each pointed at a host/guest/microphone).

 

The majority of my editing is simply matching the closeup camera with whoever is taking.

 

I've figured out some time-saving techniques, like watching the audio timeline to make angle changes (via the multicam editor) as each person talks.  With 5 cameras, its actually very difficult to edit real-time, and I have to go back and correct a lot of mistakes.

 

Really, though all I am doing is creating an edit point whenever a microphone audio track shows an initial spike in volume (the person starting to talk).  When multiple people talk at the same time, I switch to a wide angle shot.

 

Is there a plugin of any sort that can automate this repetitive task?

Hi, i have a question about removing the notifications of some programs from a recorded video , while keeping the background in tact.

You can see what I'm talking about in the below picture , i want to remove that notification , so everything behind it seems like the original , like that notification was never there and the "50" can be seen whole.

Is there a way to do this any help would be appreciated.

Hi all

 

I've just installed a trial of Premiere Pro as iMovie doesn't seem able to do what I want to achieve. I have looked at some tutorials and read some guides but haven't been able to find quite what I'm looking for, so hopefully somebody here can help.

 

The situation is that I have two images, one in outline and one in colour, and I want to transition between the two using an overlay. My overlay clip is a running ink video with black ink on a white background. I want the overall effect to be that the clip starts with the outline version of the image, and then the colour version of the image runs across the outline like the pouring ink.

 

I have been able to add the outline image to the timeline and add the running ink transition clip over the top of it. I have made it an overlay, but it lightens the image beneath it where the white background is and darkens it where the black ink is, rather than making the ink clip transparent where the white background is. So my first problem is that I can't work out how to adjust the overlay effect so that the white background will be completely transparent.

 

My second problem is that I can't work out how to make the black ink of the overlayed transition clip show the colour version of the image. If this is not possible then I guess I could export the clip with the black ink pouring over it and then reimport that as an overlay on top of the colour image and make the black part transparent, but I would rather not have to do that unless it's necessary.

 

If anyone could point me in the right direction with this I would really appreciate it. Many thanks in advance!

When I click on Audio track 1 to mute I actually mute Audio Track 2 and vice versa. What?! If I cut out of a part of A1 I actually cut out of a part of A2 but visually it's A1. OMG! What the?!!!!! I've tried resetting the preferences to no avail

I also have tried swapping the tracks that doesn't do anything. WOW that's crazy

Hello,

 

Last night I was working on a project and all of a sudden my computer started running really slow. I closed down everything, rebooted the computer and reopened Premiere. Still having issues. I turned off the computer and this morning I rebooted and opened my project and still having issues. After a lot of exploring I discovered it was the Premiere project itself that I was working on (past projects are fine). At one point Premiere showed it was using over 30GB with only 16GB of RAM. I recently switched from a Windows laptop to an iMac and had this same issue before with a previous project on Windows. Every time I opened that project it crashed my computer. I was using two sequences and when I imported one sequence at a time I was able to work on that project. I tried that here and had no luck. Anyone know why a particular project would do this? Especially running smooth then all of a sudden it comes to a screeching hault? Any suggestions on how I can finish this project?

 

The two memories show how much memory was being used with the project open and once I closed it.

Hi,

 

We are having numerous performance issues within Premiere Pro, which all look to have started in December.

 

Previously, PC ran perfectly fine with the same footage and compiling etc., but only recently started occurring. The PC will shoot up to 100% CPU usage at times, but other hardware is not maxed out (e.g. RAM only using 10GB of 16GB, GPU hardly being used, Disk fine)

 

The issues we notice are glitchy or laggy video, unable to skip through the timeline (we can skip forward, but the video still shows video from previous location on the timeline), stuttering video or video locking up altogether

 

We have:

• Tested on 3 machines, same issue
• Tried various playback settings e.g. half quality playback and quarter
• Tried different rendering options e.g. turn CUDA off
• Rolling back to previous versions of Premiere
• Updating and rolling back Graphics Driver
• Full reinstall of CC and Premiere
• Full OS re-install

 

The above has had no effect, and the issue persists for us.

 

PC specs are:

 

i7 7700K

Gigabyte GA-H270-HD3

16GB DDR4 2400Mhz RAM

Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SATA3 SSD

Geforce GTX 1070

 

I find it hard to believe the hardware is not adequate, as it was working fine previously and meets the requirements as far as I can find. We are at a loss as to where to go forward from here.

 

Is anyone else coming across similar issues?

Formerly, Shift+1 would highlight the project panel and whatever clip or bin was selected previously. Now, shift+1 opens the top-level directory and you lose your place in the folder structure. Fixed the problem the first time by spending 1.5 hours on Adobe's support chat with screen sharing, where they trashed preferences and deleted keyboard shortcuts. To get my completely custom keyboard shortcuts back, I had to manually re-enter all of them. After a couple of weeks the problem has returned.

Hey there,

 

 

I've recently started to learn about the essential graphics and MOGRTS.

 

I am unable to drop any on the timeline. When I try the cursor turns to the unable/stop hand

 

Can anybody help me??? I've been trying to figure this out all day to no avail.

Using Premiere Pro CC, which I downloaded a few weeks ago, to my PC. I'm a pretty new user.

 

In the Effects Control Panel, when I click on the left or the right pointing triangles, for instance position fx, the blue line head marker for that clip (in my case a 6 second still photo) the blue line goes not to the effect marker but past it to the previous photo and stops at the beginning of the cross dissolve band.

I'm frustrated because up until yesterday it did not do that.

Normally, it would go to the gray diamond marking the change of position beginning or ending.

I've looked for discussion, looked in the manual, and looked at my preferences.

 

Further, several times it has gone way past and found a photo two or three earlier in the clip.

Basically I have dozens of photos, with cross dissolves of 30 frames. I am manually entering a "Ken Burns" (scale and position changes) effect in each one depending on my photo layout, subject etc.

 

My first Post, I hope I'm doing it correctly...

I think I may have changed a setting that I don't know about??

I have a timeline with mixed colorspace, some clip are HDR in REC2020 and some clip are in SDR REC709.

 

I export the timeline in x265 main10 HDR. HDR content look great on an HDR TV, but when SDR content is show it look really bad. White are almost grey and black look like charcoal. I would guest I would need manually tell Premier pro 2019 to expend SDR content to HDR color space. I'm I right? How could I do this.

I have the same question as this thread: How do I set my timeline to 60FPS only the solution posted there does not work for me.

 

I am trying to get the circled number to display the actual frame number.  It displays 30fps, and if I scrub using the arrow keys I have to press twice for that number to change.  So it is recognizing all 60 frames in my footage.

 

The footage I'm editing is from a Samsung Galaxy S9+, which apparently records in variable framerate.  I recorded with HEVC turned off, so it is H.264.

Hi,

 

When on the Color tab and applying a LUT it crashes and gives the error shown in the picture. It might work the first time or so but then its guaranteed to crash after a few minutes.

 

Details:

Premiere Pro CC 2019 - Version 13.0.2 (Build 38)

 

i9-8950HK @ 2.90GHz

GTX 1050 Ti MaxQ

32GB DDR4-2666MHz

I was talking to a co-worker, and we were fighting about how much time a project had taken.

 

Then I brought up the question: What if Premiere had a time tracking function? What if it was an automatic tracker that kept the time of workflow when you were on the Premiere screen, and you could reference that for clients and/or your own use?

 

I feel like this is not super important, but it really is so that you have proof of how long it takes for some projects.

 

Sometimes you forget to check the time you started, so it's hard to say how long it really does take for longer, more complicated projects.

Hi

 

I'm new to Adobe Premiere, but I seem to be lost on how to adjust the brightness/contrast of a picture. I've managed to adjust my first image under Graphics > Effect Controls > Lumetri, but my other images don't seem to have the Lumetri option to do the same. Any suggestions?

Hey!

 

So I shoot on a Canon 1dxii which does 120fps at 1080. Beautiful footage. I film most of the non-Broll stuff at 24fps in-camera.

 

When my sequence settings are at 29.9fps in Premier, the 120fps footage plays back perfectly, buttery smooth. But if I set the sequence settings to 23.9fps, to match the non-Broll 24fps footage, the 120fps Broll plays back slightly jittery. What am I doing wrong? I feel like I've tried everything and looked everywhere but can't find an answer.

Hello there,

 

i have a strange issue wirh some imports. Sometimes after importing a random clip the window of the timeline stops working, e.g. I can't move the timemaker respectively I can move it but it stands still on its place. Furthermore i can't do anything in the timeline, no cutting, no clipmoving, nothing.

Everything works fine after deleting the imported clip from the currently open project.

 

It occurs random on some clips. I tested out starting a new project, the clip worked but another clip caused the problem.

 

Does anyone know this problem?

Hello, I have an interview where I want a lower third that goes across the entire bottom to the frame with names for three people. Problem is that the shape I have set as the background only sticks to the left of the frame. If I extend it out it cuts off after it gets to the center of the frame and won't extend over to the other side.

 

Anyone know how to do this?

In Premiere Pro CC 2017, how can I make someone's head and eyes bigger?  For example, a person in a video looking at the camera, not much movement, just a little bit.  I tried to use the magnify effect and create a mask but it didn't do anything.

So I downloaded some free lower third templates from https://www.rocketstock.com/free-after-effects-templates/15-free-animated-lower-thirds-pre miere/. When I went to install one of the templates (1_RS_Swiss) into Premiere (CC 2018, Version12.0.0), my program crashed.

Now, I can't even click on the Essential Graphics tab without the program crashing on me, so I can't delete the faulty file (1_RS_Swiss) in the Essential Graphics. Even clicking the Effects tabs makes me crash. I deleted the template that I installed inside the Programs Files directory, but PP still reads it as being installed because its still in the Essential Graphics tab.

When I tried to right click to attempt to delete 1_RS_Swiss, this error pops up: https://imgur.com/a/GkjVpmE. I tried to right click on the other folders in there and I was about to see the options to remove, move, or delete, but not for the 1_RS_Swiss.

Please let me know what I can do.
