The keyframes I put on the effect Brightness & Contrast go from low to high. In the effect controls panel everything seems right but on the video there is no difference visible. It shows only the value of the first keyframe. The keyframes on opacity for example work fine. I'm working in Premiere Pro 2014.0.1
Hallo zusammen,
Sebi
Hi,
I have set up to go to trim mode with my hotkey 'U' and my many frames/one frame trim with the m,./ keys (similar to an avid keyboard). My zoom is cmd + [ ].
When I go into trim mode, for the trim keys to function, I need to toggle to the program monitor. To then zoom, if I want to see the audio waveform closer, I need to switch back to the timeline window to zoom and then switch back again to the program monitor. When I'm done with my trim edit, I need to then switch back to the timeline window to continue editing (all done with hotkeys).
This is a bunch of extra steps. The functionality I'm looking for is to switch to trim mode with the 'U' key, be able to immediately trim my frames and be able to zoom into my timeline without having to continuously toggle windows.
Is there a way for me to sync the two windows together? Is there a way for me to do trim edits without toggling to the program monitor?
Thanks!
I export AAF's from Avid MC 6.0.4 and only one of the 8 projects works. I've had issues in the past, have contacted Adobe and it seems the issue has not been addressed. Is there a work around to getting Avid projects into Premiere?
Will Adobe be addressing AAF importing in the new version of Premiere Pro? It's been advertised that AAF is a functioning feature of Premiere Pro CC since its release.
Thanks!
[I just posted an article on the Premiere Pro team blog based on the information and questions in this forum thread.]
'Mercury Playback Engine' is a name for a large number of performance improvements in Premiere Pro CS5. Those improvements include the following:
- 64-bit application
- multithreaded application
- processing of some things using CUDA
Everyone who has Premiere Pro CS5 has the first two of these. Only the third one depends on having a specific graphics card.
Confusingly---because of one of our own early videos that was just plain unclear---a lot of people think that 'Mercury' just refers to CUDA processing. This is wrong. To see that this was not the original intent, you need look no further than the project settings UI strings 'Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration' and 'Mercury Playback Engine Software Only', which would make no sense if 'Mercury' meant "hardware" (i.e., CUDA).
The official and up-to-date list of the cards that provide the CUDA processing features is here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/systemreqs/
Some of the cards on that list are only enabled if you have the recent updates.
On Mac OS, CUDA processing features of Premiere Pro CS5 require Mac OSX v10.6.3 or later.
CUDA is an Nvidia technology, so only Nvidia cards provide it.
If you don't have one of these CUDA cards, you can still use Premiere Pro CS5; you just won't get the advantages of processing with CUDA.
Here's a list of things that Premiere Pro CS5 can process with CUDA:
- scaling
- deinterlacing
- blending modes
- color space conversions
It's worth mentioning one set of things that Premiere Pro CS5 doesn't process using CUDA: encoding and decoding.
Note that whether a frame can be processed by CUDA depends on the size of the frame and the amount of RAM on the graphics card (VRAM). This article gives details about that, toward the bottom.
Processing with CUDA doesn't just mean that things are faster. In some cases, it can actually mean that results are better, as with scaling. See this article for details.
The term 'Mercury Playback Engine' refers to Premiere Pro. It has nothing to do with After Effects. After Effects CS5 is a 64-bit application, and it has been multithreaded for a long time, so those improvements are there. But After Effects doesn't use CUDA (though a few third-party plug-ins do).
I am failing to download 30 days free Adobe Premier Pro.What is coming up is view tutorials.
I am about to start editing a project that consists of a few hundred cinemaDNG image sequences. Is it just me or is there no way to import this many image sequences quickly and efficiently and without boring my self into an early grave?
If I import a master folder that contains multiple subfolders of image sequences, Premiere thinks for a very long time and then imports each image sequence hundreds of times. It seems to look into the image sequence folder and then for each frame in the sequence import a version of the entire image sequence. Bonkers.
The alternative is to import each of my image sequences individually. Cmd-I, navigate to the folder, click on an image, wait for import, repeat hundreds and hundreds of times. Im sorry but this is a short cut to carpal tunnel syndrome and/or mental illness.
Adobe. Please. People want to work on many many image sequences. Not one or two. Please get it together.
Or am I missing something here?
PP crashes when I'm placing video file in project and trying to play the preview of that clip in source. What to do???
Hi. i am a windows 8.1 user and usind premier pro cc 2014. I usually export my go pro videos in cineform but suddenly it just vanished from the export panel. It used to be under the quick time preset but now its not there, i have looked everywhere to solve this probelm but no use, please can you provide a solution?
In our shop the workflow is like this: I'm given a box of tapes to digitise. I grab a camera from the shelf, connect it, and use a nifty program to import the tapes - they get named date-time-topic.avi Then another prog is used to deinterlace and convert them to Type2, and we're all set for PPro.
I was pleased to discover that importing directly into PPro now does the Type1 to type2 conversion.
The deinterlace is still being hotly debated whether to use PPro for this.
My question is the naming of files.
I cant see how to name the file, or files, using the videos timestamp. Where's the controls for this?
It would save a lot of time to just import directly, and we don't have the option of changing our workflow at this time, so is it possible?
thanks.
At the very end of installation process of CS6 desktop (Windows)...at 99% complete, I get this error. I have rebooted twice and went through the installation process with the same result.
What can I do to complete the installation.
I am getting NVDIA driver not responding when importing HD video files in Adobe premiere CS6....pls help me out...urgent!!
I'm used to working on Avid systems where the length of the timeline is determined by the last asset in the timeline, where it ends. I'm editing commercials and don't need or want a 10 minute timeline. Does anyone know how to change the duration of the timeline, like you can in After Effects? I've tried everything I can think of and It seems like it is not possible.... Thanks!
When I try to use Premiere Pro CC's online help or keyboard help, I get a message that reads "Unable to display online help. Connect to the internet and try again. For more information see, http://www.adobe.com/go/offline_help".
I have confirmed that I am connected to the internet, and all my other non-adobe software is functioning just fine. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike H
Am I missing something? WhenI load a sequence into the source monitor, I can click on the wrench and choose "Open source in timeline", and that sequence opens in the timeline, the playhead turns red, and source & timeline are synced. Love that.
But I cannot figure out how to do this with a multiclip... I can load it into the source monitor, but the option to "Open source in timeline" is greyed out... conversley, when i right-click on the multiclip in the project panel, I can "open in timeline" (and "open in source monitor"), but the two are not synced, the playhead does not turn red. Is there a way?
thanks for help..

I´m performing a set of semi-structured interviews for my research Project and looking into semi-automated transcription tools for the Portuguese language.
Is there any Adobe products with this feature built into the system for the Portuguese language?
Render an area, save the project, close the program and load the project, and the previously rendered area comes up red again. Alternately, close the project and reload it, and you may or may not be asked to relink.
Anyone else seeing this? The render files are still there; but the links are apparently lost -- and irrevocably, once you close program.
I am trying to copy some clips that have been logged and named and their bins to another project within Premier Pro.
How do I do this?
Thanks, Ed
Hi,
I have been running Premiere Pro CC successfully on a Mac Pro (Mid 2012) for months. My operating system was just updated to Yosemite and now I am unable to import MOVs, MP4s and WAV files. When trying to import them, Premiere tells me that file format is not supported. I know this is untrue, because these files were fine to import before I upgraded. Has anyone had any similar issues or know how to resolve?
Thanks!
