CC7 - Seeing source videos on timeline for multicam

Hey fellas -

For those who've worked with CC7 multicam, how you found a way to see your source video on the timeline while you're doing your cuts?  More specifically, once I create a Multicam Source Sequence and sync by audio, that source sequence contains all the properly aligned video.  However, to start making multicam cuts, you must create another sequence using that Multicam Source Sequence.  With this new sequence, you only see the single Source sequence on the timeline and none of the original clips in the source sequence.  Where this helps is to know when you need to make a cut, if your currently-selected clip will run out.

Any info you'd offer is much appreciated.

No Pro Res Love...please help

installed premiere pro cc and i no longer have any export options for Pro Res. I

used to have this option in CS 6. Neither Premiere Pro or Media Encoder allow me

to export to Pro Res.

 

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Premiere project won't open

This project opened just fine a few weeks ago, but now when I try to open my Premiere project, first I get a Scratch Disk Error message directing me to set scratch disks to Document folder.  I press YES.  Then I get a message "This project contained a sequence that could not be opened.  No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."

 

It opens fine on my friend's Macbook Pro, but not on mine anymore.

How to capture from Camera to PPRO CC?

Equipment used:

 

1. GY-HM750U JVC

2. 1394 Firewire port to thunderbold adapter into Macbook Pro

 

The record settings on my camera match my project settings in PPRO CC. However when I go to the capture Panel and hit record I see nothing in on the screen (what my camera sees I cannot see). Then after I hit ESC to stop recording or even stop it pops up with "unknown record error" message.

 

I have setup my device control, and have even attempted it as none.

 

All I am trying to do is get a backup live recording from my camera via firewire.

 

I've followed my JVC firewire setup and set things accordingly in PPRO CC to no avail. Any help would be great!

Hover Scrub on merged clips

Once I merge clips, I cannot hover scrub and any the poster frames I made previously are no longer there. Is there anyway to do this or am I SOL.

premiere pro CC crashes

Anyone else finding it a bit buggy?  I found ppCS6 very stable compared to 5.  I've had about 3 or 4 crashes in in about 6 hours of use.  This is in a project that was converted from ppcs6.  Event logs show different faulting modules (and the others were of the stopped intereacting variety)

XDCAM HD footage looks corrupted

We are just switching to Premiere Pro from Final Cut Pro 7.  We have thousands of clips that we still use that we imported from XDCAM disk using Sony's Log and Transfer program.  The program rewrapped the .mxf files to Quicktime, but the codec is still XDCAM HD.  Now, about half of them play like they're corrupted in Premiere Pro.  They break up at the head of the clip and usually break up again about halfway through.  I understand that we probably need to switch to working natively with .mxf files in the future, but does anyone know why these clips don't play and what I can do to make it work?  It's not practical for us to go back and reingest thousands of clips from the last 8 years.  I see the problem in the media browser and after I import the clips into my project.  Sometimes, I also get the "media pending" warning and then a green screen.

 

I'm working on a 2012 Mac Pro running Lion 10.7.5 with the new Premiere Pro CC.

Premiere Pro CC for Mac introduced a viral memory leak

I have been editing an important new project in Premiere Pro CS6 with a deadline of tomorrow to take a trailer down to the L.A. Film Festival.  An option to download the new CC versions of the Adobe products seemed interesting, especially as I could continue to work with the CS6 version.  However, having downloaded several of the CC versions (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, AE, amongst others) it now seems that there is a serious memory leak.  I watch my memory meter (32Gb installed, Intel i7 machine with applications running off an SSD) drop from 87% to 0% over the course of about 7 minutes.  And according to the memory meter, all used memory is going to Premiere Pro.

 

Bigger problem.  There must be some shared library or application files because now the same thing happens in Premiere Pro CS6.

 

This is a real issue.  A once in a lifetime opportunity has arisen and Premiere Pro has really screwed it up for me.  The application is unusable.

 

When will there be some accountability for this issue at Adobe and, more importantly, an urgent fix?  Perhaps it was a mistake, after all, to switch from FCPX...    Is there AVID in my foreseeable future?

This happens every time I open Premiere Pro CC. I have not been able to find any info online about this. Premiere Pro CC works fine on my desktop but for some reason it hates my laptop.

Premiere Pro CS6 works just fine on my laptop, I've never had a problem with it. Any help on this would be great. I have already tried running the CC cleaner script and that did nothing. Thanks.

Are the ProRes codec and .MOV file no longer supported?

I posted the following over at Creative Cow with no luck... hopefully I can get answers here ...

 

I am on a MAC - I joined the Adobe bandwagon during the great FCP migration of 2011 ... So far it's been great but...

 

Both Premiere CC AND After Effects CC are not recognizing Pro Res ...heck it doesn't seem like they are recognizing QUICKTIME in general (both progams are rejecting a .MOV I have with the animation codec) ...

 

When I try and open up a CS6 sequence in CC I get a message saying "The preset used by one or more of the sequences in this project requires third party components that could not be located." When you click ok just to get the project open, the media is offline.

 

When I try and IMPORT a .MOV into Premiere CC I get "The importer reported a generic error."

 

When I try and IMPORT a .MOV into AE cc I get "Cannot be imported- this 'MooV' file is damaged or unsupported.

 

When I try a test render out of AE cc the default Format is Quicktime, but when you go to the Video Output Format Options the Video Codec has the number "0" instead of a list of codecs .... and when you click on the "0" it changes to "-1". Seriously there are NO codecs listed in the Options - No ProRes, No Animation, just the number zero.

 

Media Encoder obviously is essentially the same story.

 

This seems to be a Quicktime thing ... not JUST a ProRes thing.

 

 

CS6 has no problems working with my Mac and QT/ProRes ... so I know it's not my machine...

 

I really don't feel like calling India today to process a refund, but if I can't get this working on my Mac I dont need to pay for Adobe CC.

Undo Speech Analysis in order to Embed Script necessary?

How can I undo Speech Analysis in Premiere in order to make way for an embedded script?  After a quick test of speech analysis on interview footage, I've started transcribing the interview in Story for import into Premiere.  However, I can't seem to get rid of the Speech Analysis (except by deleting one word at a time) in order to make way for the embedded script.  Now when I embed the script and analyze, the original (and inaccurate) Speech Analysis stays in the metadata.  I've explored the forum and videos but seem to be missing something.  Thanks for the help!

AIF & WAV slow Waveform Display

In Premiere CC:

 

If I use WAV or AIF Files (44.1 or 48) my waveform display is so slow and only appears after playing the music track

and only step by step.

 

importing a compressed file and waveform is immediatly there.

 

What can I do?

 

EDIT: Same Problem with recorded Voice Over Tracks...

Multicam: sync angles with multiple clips.

Good time of day everyone. I have beed working on the project that involves a lot of multicam syncing and editing.

At first I was very inspired with Premiere CC new multicam audio sync feature. However, I suddenly realized that there is no way to sync multiple clips from different cameras (angles, bins, etc.) the way PluralEyes does it. Only single-clip angles to a given audiom or multiple clips from one bin to audio.

 

So please, correct me if I'm wrong. Is there a way to sync angles with multple clips in Preliere CC?

MAC: Premiere Pro won't play. Nothing happens when pressing spacebar, nor play button on timeline

Help!! Deadline looming! Nothing happens when I press play on any window or spacebar in Premiere Pro. The play button turns to stop and nothing else happens. I have also installed Premiere CS6 and everything works fine there.
