Source Monitor - How Toggle Audio/Video Split?

$

I am new to Premiere and have inadvertently set the source monitor (or my clip or my sequence) so that the audio and video tracks can be manipulated separately in the source monitor:

Premiere.jpg

How can this be toggled on and off? That is, how do I go back to manipulating the audio and video tracks together rather than independently of each other?

(In my clip the audio and video tracks have not been unlinked.)

Thanks!

Steve

Match Frame broken in Premiere Pro CC?

$

So match frame works in CS6, but in Premiere Pro CC, there are a couple odd things happening for me.  When pressing F the Source panel will exibits any one of a few different behaviors (seems entirely random):

1.  A black frame

2.  The correct clip, but not the correct (matched) frame.

3.  Occassionally the correct (matched) frame (usually only the first time I use Match Frame on any given clip in my sequence).  All subsequent Match Frame commands while on the same clip in the sequence will not update to match Source with Program, they'll either stay on the first matched frame for that clip, or go black.

You can still drag the audio (or video) portion from the Source panel to the timeline and it will be the correct portion of audio (or video), but actually "matching" a frame seems broken in Premiere Pro CC (again, it works in CS6).

Misaligned text in Premiere CS6

for some reason, two lines of centered text are never precisely centered in the Title window. as the image shows, the second line always sticks out a bit too far on the left of the text above it.

there are no extra spaces that might account for this, and the kerning is the same on both lines.

any advice appreciated.textMisaligned.jpg

CS6 3 Way Color Corrector - levels controls for high mid and shadow

$

I used to adjust white and black levels only for a specific tonal renge. It was extremely useful to be able to darken a little clipped and blown out areas (like skies).

Now, in CS6 the input and output levels only seem to effect the whole image, and they do not behave on separate tonal ranges.Did they remove the ability to adjust input/output levels for just the highlights, midtones, or shadows? I see all the color wheel controls and sliders for each segment, but can't seem to figure out how to isolate, say, the highlight input level, to adjust just the input levels for just the highlights without it affecting the midtones or shadows.

Please, do not pint me to the video2brain tutorial that solves nothing! ( http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/three-way-color-corrector-cs 6.html )

hoping for a good solution for marking areas for render in cc

Here is my story.

I have lots of timelines that are about 30 minutes and each one I will be rendering to about 10 separate wmv exports.  Because I often find problems, I'm re-rendering often and each time have to go and create in and out points by hand and then control-m for export.

Is there a way to have these in and out points remembered for a timeline so I don't have to go by hand and mark in and out points for each one?

That is, I'd like to be able to easily render all 10 clips (again) without taking 10 minutes to go and mark each one by hand again.

any new feature in CC for this? (or old one I did not understand)

When rendering in Premiere Pro CC I get the messge "Error compiling movie. Unknown Error." OR the program crashes.

-Adobe Premiere Pro CC V 7.0.0 (342)

-ASUS Z87-A, Intel Core i7 4 core, 16gb RAM

-450gb+ disc space

-Also installed: After Effects, Adobe Media Encoder

-All recent updates installed

-Windows7 64bit

-I am using all programs through Creative Cloud

-Footage is AVCHD 720p but doesn't work with .mts or .mp4 files

-I am trying to render speed and simple cross dissolves. Neither are working

-This has happened before on a friend's desktop. I was using his machine to edit on while I was in the process of building mine. He got the same error when I was trying to export. I restarted and the issue was fine. Restarting on my machine has not solved the issue. This leads me to think it is a bug in the program?

-I have been running After Effects and it has worked flawlessly.

I created a project with Premiere Pro and burnt it to DVD and Duel DVD using Encore and it is shaky. It was perfect to watch on playback with Pro so the problem must be with Encore. Have a missed  a setting. Im new to Pro but have been using elements for around 3 years.

Until I got CC Pro I have never used Encore before so watched and followed on Adobe TV to create this disc.

Why does Premiere Pro not recognise my files?

$

I'm using Premiere Pro CS5.5 on Mac OSX 10.7.5

It was working fine until a couple months ago when it suddenly stopped working.

I try to drag my video files in and it doesn't work, I try importing it with the shortcut and using the menu and it shows the progress bar and acts as if it's done but nothing, no video shows up.

Is this a bug or something? any advice would be greatly appreciated, I've uninstalled and reinstalled it as well.

2.5K in Premiere CC

Just downloaded Premiere CC to try it out on a current project and found an issue right off the bat. We routinely create time-lapse videos from still files at higher than 1920x1080 resolution so we can pan and scan in the timeline and not lose quality. Generally we use 2880x1620 exported as a .mov file and then re-import into Premiere. In CC, Premiere sees it as a 1920x1080 file and it appears as such in the timeline. If I resize it in CC, is it actually using the 2880x1620 dimensions or is it scaling to frame size?

Is there a way to select an area of sound track and delete it without using the razor please?

Like drag and then cmd-delete or clear or something would seem intuitive?

Premiere pro crashes while trying to restore its windows

Premiere Pro crashes while trying to start a specific project with a message "premiere Pro CC quit while trying to restore its windows".

If I launch just the application and create a new project the app behaves OK. It's just when I try to start this particular project that Premiere Pro crashes. I have done all updates to drivers to the cuda for Nvidia 4000 graphics card and restarted the Mac pro several time but, the problem remains.

Any help appreciated.

Thx,

Tony

Logos distorded on DVD/Blu Ray

I mentioned this problem in another discussion, but didn't receive any good answer. So I'm trying again...

My problem is that I created some perfect circles in Photoshop, on a 1920 X1080(.png )file and integrated it to my timeline.

Everything looks all right and the circles are  perfectly shaped.

Once the file is exported to DVD/Blu ray, the circles become slightly ellipsoidal and it's obviously not acceptable.

I tried "scale to fit, stretch to fill, scale to fill" and got different levels of ellipses but never a perfect circle.

As long as I read the m2v file from the computer, it's ok. as soon as it appears on a TV Screen (I mean on 3 different models of TVs): Ellipse.

The TV Says 1920x1080, 16/9...

Now. the picture I read from the computer is slightly "underscan", I have 2 (thin) horizontal  black bars (nothing to do with the cinema black bars) and no vertical bars, that I think is normal since it shows my shapes correctly.

In TV Mode, all appears slightly zoomed as it should be but I suspect that the verticals are a bit "over". I designed circles, not eggs!

Maybe important to mention, my pc screen is actually a 40" Toshiba TV with VGA input. Would it be possible that I don't see the right thing in the first place?

My display actually shows a 1920X1200 resolution and put the bars to display my movie at 1920X1080, which makes sense. (the graphic card can send 1920X1080 but the TV can't display it correctly (In PC Mode)

To finish, I'm sure my circles are really circles, they have been created mechanically, not reshaped or anything.

All yours! thanks.

Hi everyone,

Please help, I am using Premiere CC. My system is Windows 7 64bit.

I can't see play back in premiere's monitor. I have to double click the monitor in order to see current frame. However, when I hit the space key to play, the monitor goes to black again. Can you help me solve this? I can hear audio. I thought it's codec issue, but it is not because the footage plays fine in After Effects. Please help...

CS6 / AVCHD / Spanned Clip Bug / What Cameras And Media Types Are Affected?

$

0

This known bug in CS6 has been well documented regarding the

potential symptoms, known issues and transcoding workarounds.

Audio and Video glitches | AVCHD footage

It would also be very helpful for CS6 users to be able to specifically

identify the problematic cameras and/or media types in order to make

informed decisions when purchasing a camera, or when receiving

media files with the intent of editing in Premiere CS6.

If there is a definitive list of specific camera manufacturers / models,

and/or media types that are affected by this bug, I have not been

able to find it.

Of course this bug has been resolved in the June 17th

release of the Creative Cloud Subscription update.

It remains to be seen if the fix will be back-ported to CS6.

Thanks.

New iMac 27 - GTX 680MX

Hi everybody.

I'm currently using my gaming PC for doing video editing, photo editing and audio editing as well. I recently sold my iMac 20" from 2008 to buy the Windows based computer, but it isn't made for me,

I'm so used to OS X enviroment that I'm going back to Mac OS with the new 27" iMac.

My PC has awesome components like:

i7 3770K

GTX 680 made by Gigabyte (OC version)

16GB DDR3 1866MHz RAM

Like I said before, I'm switching (back) to Mac, but I'm uncertain about the possible upgrade I could do!

I'm planning to buy the 27" iMac, top-end with the Fusion Drive but I also want to add something more and I'm considering to upgrade the graphic card.

Is the GTX 680MX a good upgrade? Should I upgrade the graphic card or the CPU, getting the i7 at 3.4GHz (it's the 3770 model)?

My camera is a Canon EOS 550D (a classic).

I "work" (I do it for hobby, I'm still studing) with Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom and I'll give a try for sure to FCP X (Sorry Adobe, nothing wrong with you).

And I'm also going to use programs like Logic and Ableton for my music projects and recordings.

Thank you very much.

Nicola

gamut/level shift exporting to IMX (PAL) in .MXF OP1a

Hi Forum.

Actually this thread describes the same problem that I have:

I export from PPro CS6 timeline to MXF OP1a, with the IMX 30 PAL or IMX 50 PAL setting.

Levels and gamut comes out shifted so that it is clearly visible and gamut goes sporadically out of legal range.

If I export to Quicktime ProRes from the same sequence, everything is fine.

I am running PPro 6.0.2. on Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

Maybe someone from Adobe´s side can help!?

Cheers,

MH

No audio and waveform redrawing issues in CC

This is simple. Drop an MP3 directly from explorer to the timeline = no audio waveform and no audio at all! The only way to get it is to drag the file to the project panel. And sometimes when i zoom in / zoom out to the timeline waveforms tend to dissapear. The was no such behavior in CS6
