Hello,

I have some 120FPS footage that I have been slowing to 6.25% with optical flow very effectively. I render the selected clip in the timeline, and all looks good and buttery smooth. Once I use lumetri for color correction though, the footage appears to lose the optical flow characteristic and looks more like frame interpolation even though optical flow is still checked. I haven't done a final output render yet to test, so I suppose I should do that first, but has anyone noticed anything like this?

CC 2017 just came out, and I was majorly disappointed to find out that MKV (Matroska) files are stillnot supported. There are posts dating back to 2012 about this. A lot of high-quality online videos are shared as MKV files, as the container is only getting more and more popular. Windows 10 even announced that they will support MKV right out of the box in 2014. Here it is, 2017, and somehow, Adobe Premiere Pro still does not support MKV. How? The most basic of video players out there nowadays support MKV, how does the best video editor software still not support it??

I am wondering what codec and frame size I have to set up for this 4:3 footage shot on Arri.

I set up a H.264 for the same frame size (2048x1536) but I am not getting a smooth playback. I tested it yesterday when I was merging the clips with the audios and it was working fine. However as I made a sequence I don't get a real time playback anymore.

Also do I need to have same sequence format with my new footage (h.264). This is my first short that I am cutting on premire and slightly worried about onlie process sending it to the colorist.

The Shift+1 command to open project panel - can you reverse it?

I have my PP layout and when it's time for me to look into the panel for my sequences and files, I hit the SHIFT+1 to open it. But it's really annoying because like for example if I open a window in Windows I can easily go ALT+F4 to quickly close it. But for the project panel in PP, it'd be nice to hit SHIFT+1 again to quickly close it but it doesn't work - I have to manually click the X to close it. I know this may be no big deal, but is there a way to quickly close the project panel on the KB instead of the X? I looked everywhere and I can't seem to find it so am asking here. Thanks.

DJI P4Pro .mov files won't import into Premiere

I just bought a Dell xps 15 laptop (fairly high end).

It runs Premiere fine on all files EXCEPT most 4k files from my dji phantom 4 pro drone.

When I dragged and dropped from windows explorer onto premiere timeline a drone file, 19 sec (237 mb, .mov format) file, it worked fine and I could edit in premiere.

However, every time I try to use same process to drag other drone videos onto same timeline, I get the error message "unsupported format or damaged file".

The size of these two other files were 52 seconds (627 mb) and 1:09 (831 mb). I tried others and they would not import either.

Any suggestions on how I can get these .mov files imported or why it's not working? It's driving me batty!

Hi there,

The presets field of Studio Reverb is greyed out when loop (shift + K + ) is applied, making it impossible to cycle through the presets.

Am I missing something?

Any help will be appreciated.

just wondering of ways to minmise strain on my computer (its not the best computer, but i must go on for the moment )

you know how people use proxys for 4k footage? well, is that a viable option for HD footage too? say scaling it down to SD while i get the edit together?

also, i like to apply a color grade via adjustment layers, but does that slow the computer down more than, say, applying the color grade directly to the clip?

any other suggestions? (apart from upgrading or increasing ram etc, all of which will be done when the money starts to roll in :-) )

I am trying to import a transparent .png file to use as an overlay. This was created on inkscape and has a transparent background (see screen shot 1 and 2). Upon import to adobe premier there is now a black background on the image (see screen shot 3). Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

5 hour export?!

I have quite a powerful laptop (i7 with 8gb of ram) and recently got premiere pro cc.

Now, I'm used to cs6 taking 15-20mins to export a video, but 5 hours for a 10 min video is really pushing it.

I shot on a Canon EOS M at 23.976fps at 1920x1080 (same as my sequence).

Can anyone help???

i tried to import some mov files , they are motionarray transition pack mov file

i tried to change extension but i still get the error like (i'm not the author of the video but i was looking for an solution so i found this video on youtube)

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

When ever I am in Premiere Pro I try to replace with After Effects composition my application goes into (Not Responding) mode and after a few minutes I get the message "Adobe After Effects must be installed to import this file." Strangely enough I have After Effects open already on my computer and was using both programs just fine a few days ago. I open them up yesterday and all the sudden I have this issue. I spent 2-3 hours with Adobe's costumer support and gave them access to my computer to try and fix things and after hours of trying things they can't even solve problems with their own products.

I've tried rebooting, reinstalling both products, wiping my computer clean of everything with the name Adobe associated with it then reinstalling, using a different user profile on my computer. I've tried pretty much everything I can think plus what ever the customer support had tried to do up until the point he gave up on me.

If anyone knows how to fix this PLEASE help me I have deadlines that I'm struggling to fill because of this issue. I'm very close to switching to another application instead of Adobe.

I have a video with "Frame Rate" - Constant (MediaInfo). How to make a variable?

As in this example:

Frame rate mode : Variable

Frame rate : 23.976 (23976/1000) FPS

Minimum frame rate : 23.974 FPS

Maximum frame rate : 90 000.000 FPS

Incorrect duplicate frame markers

Perhaps relating to the latest update (as I updated yesterday and this is the first time I've ever encountered this problem) I'm having an issue where Premiere starts to mark all of my clips as duplicate frames. It's happening a lot when i'm copy/pasting a clip to move it around the timeline, but then it starts to spread to other clips in the timeline. Soon, every single clip is marked with duplicate frame markers. I can remove every clip but one from the timeline, and it will STILL claim that it's showing duplicate frames.

Anyone encounter this / have any idea what's going on?

So I've run into this strange issue while working. I have on my sequence, 2 clips that are on top of each other (an interview with an A and B cam). When I go to select the two clips with their audio and go to extend the ends of them Premiere crashes and I get this error.

Has anyone else had this happen? If so how do you fix it?

Hi there. I have tried in moths to find a simple round trip workflow between Davinci and Premiere Pro. The Xml workflow is a pain in the *** so I want something more simple. Want I have found and try to use:

1. export proxies from Davinci

2. Edit the proxies in Premiere

3. Colorgrade the original footage Davinci and export as individual clips.

3. Offline all proxy clips in Premiere

4. Relink the clips in premiere to the high quality graded clips.

It works fine except nested clips but I can live with that.

THE MAIN ISSUE!!!

Everything (except nested clips) work just fine. But after saving and reopening the project there is some seriously random issues.

All clips that has some sort of time remapping is completely screwed. Lets say I have 60fps with time remapping to 40%, it should playback at 24fps. What Premiere dose is that it plays the same frame for 3 frames then plays the next frame for 3 frames and so on. So the footage is playing in like 8fps or so.

Please help I really really need a solution for this!

I have filmed my feature film with 4k camera and realizing people look better when they are filmed on 1920 instead, so if i downscale the over the shoulder close ups from 4k to 1920k I assume the frame does not change, only the pixel resolutions , correct ?

I worked on a project on a computer, and now I'll work on it on another computer. I have put the project on a USB-stick with all the clips, but I don't know if I need to get the titles as well and where those are. Are there any other files I need to take with me on the USB-stick?

Encoding Stuck At 0%

Hi all,

Thought I'd add my configuration to this issue that seems to be cropping up on a few systems.

Software:

CS6 Production Premium - Version 6.0.3 (001 MC: 264587)
Recently added HDVSplit and FFDShow in order to capture HDV

Hardware:

Win 7 64-Bit
8 GB Ram
Intel i5 processor 3.2GHz
2 x 1TB HDDs (A - program, audio, previews (98% full); B - video scratch (50% full))
Graphics - Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500

Working on a 5 hour SD project. Trying to Export to MPEG DVD. The Encoding window sticks at 0% and my system slowly churns to no effect.

There are a couple of test dynamic link After Effects comps as titles, with or without them on the timeline no change.

I've done similar projects (minus the After Effects comps) on a dinosaur laptop without trouble. I know the computer has the horsepower.

Things I've tried:

Updating CS6 allowing to regenerate peaks > no effect
Tested other presets H.264, Quicktime, AVI > all stuck at 0%
Rendered everything > no effect
Changing my preview scratch to the same as the source scratch > pending a test

If I select one or two minutes of a sequence it will encode and finish, but larger chunks don't get past 0%. Doesn't seem to be related to any particular asset, just the sheer size. When it hangs, it will eventually create the files but they are only a few KBs.

Hoping for some insight.
