Premiere 12.1.2 (2018) no longer creates Adobe Encore compliant M4V files

I still have a need to create Blu Ray discs with simple menus. Upon upgrading to PremiereCC 12.1.2, the M4V files (h.264 files with same blu ray presets as previous versions) Adobe Encore now freezes when importing these files. Thought it might be an Encore problem, but I made a new project in Encore and imported older M4V elementary streams with no problem.  I tried exporting the files from Premiere 12.1.2 with various settings and presets to no avail. Encore locks up when trying to import the files.

Is anyone else experiencing this and, aside from the work-around of having to encode to another format and have Encore re-transcode the file, is there a way to fix this?  I read somewhere else that for some reason, Premiere 12.1.2 was not creating M4V's with valid blu-ray specs.

Can this be fixed or can someone explain if I am doing something wrong. I understand that Encore has been discontinued. I have no problem with that. However, given proper files, the software still works and fulfills my requirements.

Thanks!

Slow response Premiere Pro

Hi,

I have a very powerful computer.

i9-7940x CPU (14 core)

64GB Ram

Nvidia 1080Ti

Two SSD, an HDD and some external drives,

3 screens connected

Still I have a lot of problems getting premiere to run smoothly, If I press the play button it usually takes 5-15 seconds for the video to play back (sometimes only audio plays, sometime nothing happens, and sometimes I get the yellow "media pending" screen).

I edit footage from the Sony a7 mk iii, DJI phantom 4 pro, and some GoPros (everything i 4K). I still believe my computer should be able to handle this. Does anybody know why it is so slow, or have any tips? Would greatly appreciate it!

I have my media stored on a fast external drive, and I have divided the rest of the scratch disk setup to different harddrives.

Error retrieving frame **** at time **

I am trying to footage taken at a recent event that I shot with one camera, I imported it into premiere pro cc 2019 and then exported it only to get this error message every few seconds.

"Error retrieving frame **** at time **:**:**:** from the file"

The footage was shot on a C300 at 24 fps, in full HD, the sequence is 24 fps 1920x1080 which is a match./

it's only when I try to export it out that I start getting the error.

Please help.

Thanks

Source Clip Selection Snapping to Beginning of Timeline Sequence

Hi. I'm trying to insert a clip selection into the timeline and it keeps reverting to the start of said timeline.

Also, as a user of Adobe products for the last decade, I'm humbly asking that you people stop taking the time to reprimand users' threads because they include "f**k", "s**t", and perhaps "G** ***n" in their inquiries. Some of us have deadlines to tend to, and when these hangups come about, our language is the last thing on our mind. I'm sure David LaRonde, Lord and Savior, peace be upon him, being from Middle America rarely has to trek here to New York. But seriously, we're adults here. Don't be offended by words. Thanks.

Premiere Pro CC gives System Compatibility Report & States "intel display driver may cause performance and stability issue."

Every time I open Premiere Pro CC I get a System Compatibility Report window that states:

- Video: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 v.20.19.15.5063

"The current version of your intel display driver may cause performance and stability issues. It is strongly recommended that update to driver version 100.6286 or later. Drivers are provided by intel or your computer's manufacturer."

I use a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 with an Intel Core i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz & 8.00 GB RAM - Windows 10 64-bit

To try and fix the problem I've:

  • Made sure all my drivers for the Nvidia Graphics card is up to date.
  • Clean reinstall of the Nvidia Geforce Drivers.
  • Made sure all Intel drivers are up to date.
  • I've uninstalled/reinstalled Premiere + uninstalled/reinstalled Adobe CC and cleared all Adobe data during the process.

Here are some possibly helpful screenshots.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The project file has been modified since last save. So you wish to continue?

I get this message most times when I do a Ctl-S.  I am getting it with PP CC 13.1 but never got it before in earlier releases.  I have searched this in the forum already and others have had the same problem but there has been no solution offered.  I'm running Windows 10.  After getting this "Project Modified" message, I hit "OK" and the Save occurs.  This is a worthless message because of course, I want to save the file.  Is there no way to turn this message off?

Is it safe to delete preview files/folders?

I noticed I have 30gb or more of folders in a folder called preview files.  These seem to be the product of rendering and look like a waste of space - what happens if i delete the whole lot for projects i no longer work on?  would removing these and the CFA and PEAK files damage the ability to work on the file at a later stage?  I could use the extra space!

Thunderbolt 3 NAS is a clunker in Premiere

$

Hi all,

I've reached a point in my video production where I needed to step away from the forest of USB 3.0 external drives and invest in a NAS system. I purchased a QNAP TS-453BT3 and set it up in a RAID 10 with 4 Seagate Ironwolf 8tb drives. It's connected to a gigabit switch as well as directly to my PC (build is here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/andrewsciba/saved/8qXxGX + Gigabyte Titan Ridge) via Thunderbolt 3. The NAS also has 2x 256gb m.2 drives installed for cache purposes.

The NAS performs very well in regular system usage and transfers files extremely quickly, but acts like a chump in Premiere. Assuming the project file will load at all, I can only perform the most basic of editing tasks. I cannot render a preview because it hangs and then crashes, exports from premiere take an eternity and will typically hang around the 97% mark (AME has fewer issues, but it's still a coin toss if it'll complete the render).

The Thunderbolt 3 connection appears as some sort of network drive (see image), which I've mapped.

Capture.PNG

Premiere cache is on a dedicated SSD drive and has been cleared.

I've tried running the NAS unplugged from the switch with no difference.

If I copy the files to a local hard drive, Premiere hums along. As more files are on the NAS (video, audio, project), Premiere is increasingly unstable.

Perhaps the crux of the matter is that Windows is seeing the TB3 connection as a networked drive, which is throwing Premiere? I suppose I expected to be able to side-step the lack of network drive support in Premiere by using a TB3 connection, but that doesn't seem to be the case?

The deeper I get into this, the less I know what question I should be asking! Thanks in advance for your advice!

Install LUTs cc 2019 v. 13.0.3

Hi, I've been trying for hours to figure out how to install LUTs on the new update for premiere. I hadn't had a use for LUTs since 2018 and now that I need them I noticed they were gone from my lumetri panel. Now that i'm trying to reinstall them, I'm unable to follow the path most tutorials set out for you. Those tutorials are for older versions of Premiere. Anyone have any idea how to install LUTs on this latest version of Premiere?

Premiere 2019 = Nightmare

Hi,

I'm working on a documentary project for a year and a half and it's nearly finished. But I upgraded to Premiere 2019 and ever since it all has been a nightmare. Firstly the project would freeze just after 2-3 minutes working. And now, when I try to launch the project, Premiere shuts down automatically, which means that I cannot even access my project. I tried, but obviously I cannot open it with Premiere 2018 and I feel trapped. Any suggestions or ideas would be highly appreciated.

Additional info: the project is 900GB, but I created proxies for all files and I work with 1/4 resolution (both paused and playback)

My computer is an i7, 16GB, Geforce GT 850M

Thanks.

Premiere Pro Import: File contains a complex edit list

$

I just got my first Mac and am using Premiere Pro. I'm trying to import some screen recordings from my desktop, and only one will upload. The rest receive an error message that says "File contains a complex edit list", then a window pops up with those three clips' file names and says "We were unable to open the file on disk."

I moved them from the desktop into a folder and have the same problem. Any suggestions? Using Premiere CC 2018.

I'm asking in all seriousness if Adobe Just Asked Me For Calendar Access Or Do I Have a Virus?

My first reaction was "really?, Adobe wants access to my calendar?". Then it occurred to me (before getting mad) that maybe this is a virus.  Has anyone else had Adobe Premiere Pro ask for access to their calendar? I'm attaching a screen shot.

If indeed it is, I'd sure like to know why and what Adobe is planning on doing with my calendar.

Hello everybody.

Please, can you tell me if Premiere necessarily needs of ALSA audio drivers ?

Or can it run using the default audio driver of the PC where it has been installed ?

In any case, can you tell me how to configure the audio driver into Premiere Pro CC 2018 ?

Thanks in advance.

"We were unable to open file on disk"

I have an error with two files in Premiere Pro CC 2019 (13.0), where they appear offline although they previously played fine in PPro.

When I try to relink the files or import them fresh into PPro, I get the error message "We were unable to open file on disk". When I look at details in the "Events" panel, I see: "File contains more than one image descriptor".

What does this mean?

The files (Pro Res Alpha 4444 1920 x 1080) play fine in Quicktime 7 and VLC player, but now won't open in either AE or Premiere Pro. What could be the issue?

Audio compressors causing lag, slow-downs and crashes...

I can edit any footage, do quick exports, and anything I want at fast speeds on my iMac. However for some reason the moment I add a few Single Band Audio Compressors to some of my clips in a sequence my project slows down to the point I can even scrub any more. If I remove the effects the sequence scrubs and moves at a fast pace and high quality.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)

4 GHz Intel Core i7

AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4 GB

Adobe CC (latest version)

For Audio Hardware output I use a Scarlett 2i4 (not sure if that has any relevance but I thought I should include just in case).

Please help save me tons of time by fixing this issue. I would be very grateful!

Incorrect Audio Waveforms - Premiere Pro

$

Hello!

I'm currently using Premiere Pro 13.1.3 (Build 44) on Windows 10 Pro and I'm having an issue with audio waveforms. It happens at least once a month with large projects.

Once I create a new sequence from my multi cam timeline I click Sequence at the top and then select Render Audio so that the wave forms will appear in my new sequence where I'm making angle changes. The audio plays correctly and everything is synced as it should be but the audio wave forms are extremely incorrect.

I've deleted cached files, peak files, deleted/re installed premiere, restarted my computer, check software updates, etc. and still to no avail I cannot solve this issue.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
