Media Cache

I am running into an issue with my Media Cache, I changed the target destination to an external drive because the video I am exporting is to big for my internal to handle. BUT it doesn't actually target the external, even though it settings says they are pointing there, it still eats up all of internal HD storage and freezes up my computer.

Here are the few things I have done.

  1. Re-Installed Premiere.
  2. Started a new Project
  3. Changed the target, restarted premiere

Nothing seems to work...

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance -

zoom in/out shortcut

Dear all,

the naming of certain actions in premiere is a bit confusing...

I would like to zoom in and out on the timeline in my sourcewindow (from minutes to seconds to frames and back). But i can also zoom in and out on my footage in my source window.

What is the search term for zooming in/out on the timeline ('zoom' in/out is hijacked by zooming in/out of the footage (%))

If i know the name of the action i can make a shortcut for it.

Blurry Legacy Titles (CC 2019)

Hi, I am having huge trouble trying to find a way to use titles properly in Adobe Premiere Pro.

I am fairly new to the software and am using Legacy Titles to write simple text (someones name) to then put over video footage. However, everytime I add the title to the timeline above the video clip and then watch it in full screen, the text is blurred and is not sharp like I would like it to be. I have looked online for help and loads of other forums and online videos haven't been able to help me.

Would anyone please be able to help me fix this problem as it is very frustrating.

Thanks in advance

Issues with dragging clips and adjusting clip lengths in Timeline.

When I am moving clips around or adjusting the length of them in the timeline, it is no longer showing me where the clip will end up.

Before when you moved something in the timeline a greyed out version of the clip would appear where you are dragging it, and then once you drop the clip it would appear in place of the greyed out one.

I have tried adjusting my timeline display settings but none of it seems to make a difference.

This started randomly half way through editing and as far as i'm aware, i didn't press anything which would've changed it.

It makes it really hard to edit because you can't see where your clips are going to end up so when fine cutting them together it takes multiple tries to stop one overlapping or having a blank space inbetween.

Batch Actions: Burn Captions in Video

Hello everyone,

Our company is thinking of investing into Adobe Premiere Pro, but since our employees are new to the software, we have 2 queries:

1. Is it possible to batch burn-in captions in multiple videos? For example, set up a queue, leave the application open for hours and let it burn captions into videos?

If not, is there some plug-in that offers a similar service?

2. What is the best caption format (e.g. cap? stl?) that includes italics and raised subtitles when imported into Adobe Premiere Pro?

We would really appreciate it if someone could enlighten us regarding these,

Thank you in advance!

I got the Adobe Premiere Pro 2019, and after 2 days, this issue came up. I have not been able to use Premiere since then. I re-installed the program, but the issue is still there. What can I do?

Audio Randomly Not Playing Back On Some Multicam Clips From a Certain Point On

$

I'm having an issue in a multi-cam sequence where audio randomly won't playback in the timeline for certain cameras. The waveforms are visible in the timeline, the volume on the clips are up, the track isn't muted, the sliders are up for the track, and there's no audio effects or anything like that inserted anywhere. It happens completely at random in the middle of cutting up a multi-cam sequence. Sometimes it affects the entire camera, other times the beginning of the camera plays back but at a certain point the audio cuts out and you can't hear audio from then on for that camera but you can for other cameras.

Here's my detailed project setup:

1. Created 5 sequences each containing multiple audio tracks, multiple layers of 1080p clips with some cropping, and overlay graphics.

2. Made sub sequences of those sequences so the audio will be contained in 1 event when placed on a timeline.

3. Then used those sequences as the cameras for a 5 camera multi-camera sequence.

It's worth noting that the footage used all happens to be of varying frame rates (60fps, 59.94, and 29.97) and some are mp4 while others are .MOV. It's all placed in the timeline as is without interpreting the clips because I need them at normal speed, but all of the sequences are set to 59.94. Also, I made 720p Cinemform proxies for all clips to ensure faster editing. I've done this exact procedure with one other project before and it worked relatively well so this isn't my first time trying this, the only difference is for that project all of the clips were 59.94 fps.

The audio for the individual sequences as well as the multi-cam source sequence plays back fine, it only affects the audio from the target sequence that I'm editing in. Also, I tried exporting an area of the timeline that contained clips with the audio playback issue and the audio was there on the exported clip, so this is only happening for preview in the timeline.

This was happening nonstop yesterday on this project that I'm currently working on and I've had a strange experience finding workarounds that eventually stop working:

1. At first it only happened for one camera and after some messing around I was able the get the audio back for it simply by alt+clicking one part of the affected audio then copy and pasting that to a different spot in the timeline. For some reason not only did the audio for the pasted clip work but the audio for the entire original clip starting playing back again as well, so I would just deleted the pasted one and move on. This workaround worked a couple times.

2. Eventually it happened again except 2 cameras were affected and this time my first workaround was no longer fixing the issue. After some messing around I found a new workaround where I pressed ctrl+a to "select all" in the timeline, and then copy and pasted that into a new empty sequence that I made. Again, after doing this the audio for the new sequence played back and the audio for the original sequence was somehow fixed as well, so I just deleted the new one and continued editing. I think this workaround worked twice if I remember right.

This is where I am now:

After some more editing it happened again, this time there's only some audio at the beginning of one of the cameras and the rest of the cameras have no audio playback anywhere at all. I tried the workarounds from both 1 and 2 multiple times. 1 doesn't work at all, and 2 sort of works if I only copy and paste small sections at a time into the new sequence, but if I paste a section that's too big there will be no audio for that paste. Also, this time when I successfully paste something into a new sequence that brings back the audio, the audio from the original sequence still doesn't play back unlike my experience with the first 2 workarounds before this. I've considered trying to just paste small sections at a time into the new sequence, making sure it plays back, and then moving on to the next small section until I have all of the edits back with audio in the new sequence. The problem is, that will take a really long time and it will be easy to really mess something up because I have a LOT of cuts, not to mention there's a good chance it will stop working at some point and be a huge waste of time.

Some other things I've tried include opening and closing the project, restarting my computer, copying the project inside a new project, opening project manager and copying everything over to a different SSD drive (I tried this twice, once using the source clips and a second time setting "consolidate and transcode" and making everything Cinceform .mov files), muting / un-muting / soloing / un-soloing tracks, and of course I messed around with settings in preferences. Nothing seems to be working this time.

This is extremely frustrating because I am really far into this edit and I'm on a tight deadline so I'm running out of options and sort of desperate for a workaround that will allow me to finish this project! I'm honestly having a BUNCH of other issues with crashing and other weird bugs in Premiere as well, but those generally resolve themselves after restarting Premiere or using one of the many workarounds I have come up with. This audio playback issue though, is the first time that I'm literally stuck and have no idea how to get back to editing. Please help!

EDIT: I read it back and saw a bunch of typos and wanted to re-organize it to make it easier to follow.

Hi!

I just got these headphones and I'm noticing it's having an issue with Premiere Pro compatibility. Clicking on the program, it turns off the noise-cancelling features of the headphones and does not play the sound from the clips, just the ambient noise around me.

Has anyone else had issues like this?

Captions display late - past edit point. Caption instructions?

$

In Premiere Pro v 13.1.3, when I add CEA-708 closed captions to the project, the captions don't appear at the caption edit point.  In the program monitor, the previous caption remains on the screen for a number of frames (ranging from 7 to 11) before the new caption displays. Is this a bug?   Or does this delay only display in Premiere Pro and the video/captions will synch correctly when the sidecar file is played with the video? Is there a player I can use to check this?  I don't want to adjust the captions forward and mess up the synch when the video is played.

Also, can anyone point me to more detailed caption instructions than appear on the Adobe website "Learn" section under "premiere pro captions"  I have a number of questions about the import and export functions that just are not addressed on the Adobe site, or in the third party tutorials I've found.

Premiere 13.0.2 so slow it's unusable

My computer has had a problem with certain Premiere updates several times in the past. Normally I can run Premiere perfectly but occasionally an update will make my computer unable to load Premiere. In this instance, nothing I do shows up on my timeline until I attempt something else, and often the play-head is invisible, making editing near impossible. When updates have prevented me from editing in the past I've had to wait until the next update before I can resume my editing, however this is a slow option. I've tried editing my project on an older version of Premiere but because it's saved as a new file, I haven't been able to. Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you.

Imported Subtitles Not The Proper Length

I've been trying to convert SMIL files to a format usable in Premiere with the program Subtitle Workshop. I have done both srt and xml and they seem to come out fine on the other end. If I open them in notepad the complete transcript is in with the time codes for each line. The problem is that when I import these files in to premiere they are not the proper length. The srt file stops at about 45 seconds in and the xml is about a minute long but starts at a random point. Is this a formatting error on my end or am I importing them improperly?

Is it just me that can't import videos from my iPhone to Premiere Pro CC (2018)? It probably has something to do with the new codec in IOS11 (HEVC).

I'm using premiere pro 2019 on macos mojave, and I keep having the same problem, that every time I quit the application, it crashes and I have to force quit the app.

I have no idea what happened. I have tried to reset preferences, delete caches, or even reinstall the app, but the problem still exists.

But premiere pro 2018 works well on my mac.

Is this still a bug for premiere pro 2019?? Any ideas what is going on?

Extreme cropping in warp stabilizer

Hi all, when I applied the warp stabilizer to a clip that I was editing, I got a result that was ok even though it was heavily cropped.

When applying edits, I often needed to reanalyze the crop and restabilize, so I decided to stabilize the whole clip again, render and then perform my edits on the stabilized rendered clip.

I cleared my timeline and reinserted the clip and then applied the warp stabilizer.

This time around, I got and error "to avoid extreme cropping set framing to stabilize only or adjust other parameters."

The thing is, I'm ok with the extreme crop, the clip was filmed on a phone and the two subjects are in the center of the frame. I would have to crop it anyway.

How do I tell Premiere to continue processing and ignore the error?

Project Manager Error

Hello

Wondering if anyone else has had the same issue. Im trying to move a project from my MacBook to my iMac using the method of Project Manager; Collect files and copy to new location.

But every time I try this I get a error message saying "an unknown error occurred during the project manager operation. Please save your project and retry the operation". I tried that and still no luck.

Anyone able to shed light on the situation would be great. Or is there another way to move the project easily?

Many thanks

Dan
