What is the new replacement codec for h.264 since adobe officially removed it. When you go to export -> quicktime -> codec h.264 is removed. Does anyone have a replacement codec to use. (STILL UNDER QUICK TIME) i do not want a quality loss going over to mp4.

Playhead RANDOMLY jumping to beginning of sequence

$

When trying to do simple tasks such as dragging clips to another sequence, hopping to the next clip, or even leaving a marker, the playhead is jumping all the way to the front of the sequence. This is not the same thing as the preference option "At playback end, return to beginning when restarting playback". I am NOT playing when this is happening.

Any ideas? I quit, restarted, yadda yadda, still happening.

I'm on 12.1.2 (Build 69)

Some footage shaking before / after render

$

Very confused what's going on here. I have been having various issues with footage shifting for seemingly no reason.

At first it was just clips with warp stabilizer on it, and [only] after rendering the clip it would shake/shift side to side what looked like just a few frames.

Now I'm working with a drone shot from a DJI Mavic Pro and the image dramatically shifts (20-ish pixels) to the right after every 10th frame or so.

***UPDATE*** The clip was sped up to 120%, then once I took that effect off the clip it smoothed out. This was also the case with clips with the warp stabilizer.

Any idea what would be causing these seemingly random shifts in the image? I tried to talk to Adobe customer service but they had no idea what was going on.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Choppy playback in source preview! Premiere Pro 2019 software issue!

$

When I double click a drone 4K.mov source clip in Premiere Pro 2019 project bin, they always appear choppy during playback previews (Source window).

When I preview same clip in ANY other video application it plays just fine. This is and has been a software problem with Premiere Pro for quite some time. Specially when I use codecs with highly compressed videos (GoPro, Drone etc. recordings).

Its not a hardware issue, its not the codec, its not a cache settings, its not the timeline/sequence/render, its not CUDA, its not my latest Graphic card driver for Nividia Quadra P2000 or a proxy issue.

It has to be a Premiere software issue? Its about how Premiere is set and capable to utilize the computer's power for different videos and codecs. Don't make me convert this Quicktime, MOV -file. That should not be the solution for a Pro editing suite.

VLC and any other video players and editing suites has no problem previewing these files and Premiere Pro shouldn't be any different?

Proxy files are created but no actual video just sound...need help

recently started taking my editing a bit more seriously and discovered the proxy facility which i think is fantastic. However i have followed many tutorials on the internet, changed the settings god knows how many times but every time, it will create the proxy in the relevant folder but there would be no video.

Thought i was doing something wrong but ive tried it so many different ways im unsure where im going wrong. the only problem i see is when media encoder has rendered the file, i reset status. When i click custom the Ingest settings come up. Under Summary and Source it says "No video". I have no idea how to fix this? can someone please help me?

I have tried to export a sequence using media encoder and that works fine, its just for some reason not playing ball when it comes to proxies.

Currently using PP 2018 and AME 2018

Thanks in advance.

Ok, so it's been a month now and no support from Adobe yet. Changing the extension of the source files from MXF to MPG is a long, choppy workaround, and barely works. Thank you to Ann for this bandaid fix. Adobe, PLEASE RUN AN UPDATE to accept this codec!!! Right now it's like editing 4K video on computer from 1999 from a USB 2.0 thumb drive.

The application "Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018" can't be opened

Been having issues ever since the upgrade to Mojave, but was previously able to find workarounds (like restarting my computer every time Premiere got buggy). Today Premiere wasn't connecting to After Effects via dynamic link, so I restarted, but nothing changed. So, I updated all my Adobe Apps (including Premiere) and restarted. Now the app refuses to open, with no information as to why. I'm employed as a video editor, so this bug is a threat to my livelihood. Please assist ASAP.

I 've noticed an dramatic slowdown when i try to change audio levels using the "G'" key.  A 14 minute interview clip took over 3 minutes before the "OK" button was illuminated and it is consistently slow for other lengths of clips, which i've never seen before.  I haven't installed the most recent update since I'm just finishing up another project started in this version.

Anyone have any ideas what's up?

Ae Template Re-sizes Spontaneously in PPr...

Hi Guys

I'm working in PPr 2019 and I've a 10 second template (made in Ae CC2018), which I've used a 100 or so times in CC2018 and about 20 times in 2019, with no problems. I've made an 1080x1080 sequence for Instagram and exporting 'match source. medium bitrate', like I have done dozens of times. The sequence plays fine in the program monitor and renders fine, but today as soon as the play head hits the template, it shifts off centre until a second before the end. Here's a capture:20181229 AdobeAeTemplate - YouTube.

Can anyone throw any light on this? A thirty second promo is taking me all day...

Regards,

Graham

Jerky / Choppy export

Hi. Noob to the forums here. Hoping you all can help me.

I've got a one-take shot that I'm time-ramping to match some music. The raw files, shot at 50fps, playing back at 25fps (in quicktime) play smooth as anything. The export, once it's been through Premiere is somewhat choppy.

I've tried all the different time interpolation settings (sampling / blending / optical flow) on export with little effect.

It was shot at 50fps. But, as it was shot on an Alexa mini, it defaults back down to a slow-mo 25fps on playback, which is what I set my PPCC project to for editing. Have also tried changing the sequence settings to 50fps with no difference to export quality.

The time ramping ranges from 114% (which equates to a bit faster than half-speed slow-mo in playback) to 200% (which equates to real-time in playback), with slow transitions in between (as you'll see from the time ramping keyframe map picture attached).

Below are all the media info for the source and export files. Also some screenshots of the settings of the project.

Computer info: Macbook Pro (Mid 2012); 10.12.6; 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7; 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3; Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB RAM; 1TB SSD

Some advice would be much appreciated.

And just for clarity: the issue I'm concerned with is EXPORT, not playback (which I have on really low quality settings anyway as my computer is a bit underpowered)

Thanks!

Import desync in cc 2018 latest build and 2019. 2017 works has no issues

I record gameplay vids with a constant frame rate. (So it's not VBR related thing) I decided to update Premiere to the latest 2018 build and now imported vids get out of sync. I've decided to give 2019 a go and its the same issue. The desync can be as long as 4 secs! Even VBR vids don't get that.

Fortunately In 2017 it works just fine. I've just tested a few builds and It works on fine jsut fine 12.0.1.69 and but causes desync on  12.1.1.10  and 12.1.2.69

What's the issue and how can I fix it?

Hello there, I'm currently using the 2018 version of Premiere Pro and I'm having an issue while trying to make a typing animation.

The first two letters are inserted well but when it comes to the third one it is suddenly added in the middle of the text:

Let's say I'll try to type "Hello"

"He" comes up well but when I start to press l it becomes: "Hle", adding the remaining letters, it becomes: "Hlloe"

And when I try to erase it, it starts to erase from right to left. I've tried to change the preference from middle to asian whatever that is, but it didn't work.

Not had many problems with Pr until the latest update (13.0.2). Since then Pr won't quit. I have to force quit. I guess not a big problem but it's annoying that PR just hangs until I force it to quit.

Any ideas on how to correct this?
