Premiere Lag on new PC but not older Macbook Pro.

So, I recently switched from Mac to Pc as well as FCP 7 to Premiere Pro. The new pc acts slower than the Mac. From when I select a clip and move it, to when I make an in and out; the pc lags behind my keys strokes on premiere while my mac has no lag. So the 7 year old computer works better than the 3 month old Computer?

Is there something wrong with my pc? My pc should be working way smoother that my 7 year old mac right? I have the newest drivers, the newest windows. Newest BIOS.

and the mac is more responsive, what gives?! Is something wrong with the computer? If so, how do I fix it.

Who wants Warp Stabilizer w/Keyframes?

After reading all the posts about warp stabilizing portions of clips, i was inspired to submit a feature request.

 

Warp Stabilization with Keyframes.

 

This would allow changing the amount of stabilizing over time, so that a portion of a clip could be stabilized, and then seamlessly flow back into the unstabilized portion, without having a sudden jump back into the original scal/orientation, or having to cut to a different clip altogether.

 

what do you guys think? would this be useful?

Premier Pro cc 2017 crash on launch (Mac)

Hi ,

Today I tried installing Premiere Pro CC 2017, post installation when I launch the application, I can see the application is trying to load and crashes before completely starting up.

Its a brand new Mac book pro (Sierra OS) and a fresh install of Adobe creative cloud.

I have just installed Premiere Pro CC and no matter what I do it crashes the moment I try to import any clips into a new project. Am I missing something obvious??

Premiere Crashing on Start Up

I have tried to download premiere and it will not open. It starts to open and then crashes 100% of the time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and restarted my computer. My computer software is up to date. I have CC and use Ps, Lr, Id, and Ai without any problem.

 

My computer is less than two months old. Macbook Pro 2016 15-in (10.12.4)     

 

I have seen lots of issues online about the program crashing once you are in it, but nothing about it crashing upon start up. I have another friend who has the same exact computer and she is not having the same issue.

I dont seem to have the "Multi-Camera" option in Premiere Pro

Hi guys, complete noob here.

 

I'm trying my hand at the Multi-cam option in Premier Pro, and watching every YouTube video out there.

 

And I seem to hit a wall every time they tell me to:

- Right click

- Select "Display"

- And then select the "Multi-Camera" option

 

But here's the problem: I don't have the "Multi-Camera" option. Here's a screenshot that shows the only options I have:

I'm about to rip my hair out, as my entire project depends on having multi-cam interviews in it.

can't autosave to cloud due to write permissions

Hello,

 

I'm on Windows 10 Pro and for some reason I keep getting an error that Premiere Pro can't autosave to the creative cloud due to write permissions. When I go to the creative cloud folder which I placed on my internal  media drive there is a red line through the folder and read only is checked. Every time I uncheck it it reverts back to read only.

Can someone save me!?

 

I've been working on this project for weeks.  After working earlier today, I shut down the program, and opened again a few hours later.  When I tried to reopen, I received the above message.  I closed the program, restarted the computer and am still getting the same message.

When I went to the auto-saved files, none of the versions from today would open either (had a ton of options as auto-save was set to every 3min, because it kept crashing when using image turbulence filter).  There were no auto-saved files from any other time in the last week (super strange, as I've been working daily, and watching it save every 3min--- where are all of those versions? no idea).  The next most recent auto-save file prior to today is from over a week ago, so would be losing a lot of work.

I tried importing the project into a new blank project to no avail.

 

I'm working on a brand new MacBook Pro 13" 2.4 GHz Intel i7, using Sierra 10.12.3

Premiere version 2017.0.2 v11.0, Tanq  (it appears that I am all updated)

 

Not running other software, and have no third-party effects.

Not sure, but I don't think I'm using Mercury Playback unless it comes loaded automatically.

Source footage is all from an iPhone.  Not sure of file-type or details... not a tech wiz, sorry. 

 

Please do help me if you can... I'm dying!

CC 2017: An unknown error occurred while opening the project.

A couple days ago I spent all day editing a project. It's about 10 minutes long and consists of all iPhone videos - various frame rates and resolutions. It came out great and I closed the project for the night. The next day I came back and tried to open the project and after the loading bar completes, I get the error: An unknown error has occurred while opening the project. Other projects open normally. New projects open normally. But this one does not. I am so upset and frustrated about the lost work.

 

I went to my recent auto saves and they give me the same error. If I go way back in the auto saves, they will open normally but that was before many hours of additional work on the edit.

 

I made a new project and tried to import the old project and I get the error: The importer reported a generic error.

 

I used Media Browser to view the project and the window where I should see everything is blank, even after the loading bar finishes.

 

I used Project Repair from Digital Rebellion's Pro Maintenance Tools which thinks it has repaired the project, but I get the same error when trying to open it.

 

I used CS Repair from Digital Rebellion's Pro Maintenance Tools to trash Premiere preferences. No help either.

 

I googled the error message endlessly and although the same question has been asked, none of them got an answer.

 

Please advise.

App is loading very, very, very slow

Hello everybody.

 

Now i can cleaned my Adobe data and reinstall all applications.

Photoshop is working fast, its fixed.

But i install Premiere and its loading very slow. Im waiting about 30mins and it used only 13K Memory (PWS) in Task Manager.

How can i fix it?

 

Also i have newest video card drivers.

Edius keyboard shortcuts into Premiere

Hi

Is there a way to quickly copy Edius keyboard shortcuts into Premieren without having to do every shortcut individually. I know this is possible for Final Cut Pro for example, but can this be done with Edius? Cheers

Trouble Exporting Video w/ Alpha Channel Into Media Encoder

Fellow Editors,

 

Need a way to streamline our keying workflow.

 

Currently rending/exporting clips with alpha channels in Premiere and After Effects takes too long. We need to be able to render/export in the background (through Media Encoder) so we can keep editing and hit our deadline each day; however, we can't seem to find an export setting that allows the clips to be rendered in Media Encoder with an alpha channel.

 

Any suggestions?

 

Working in Mac OS and currently exporting in CineForm and ProRes 4444 which works but we're trying to minimize the total time it takes to get the keyed footage into a timeline. The Key Plug-in in Premiere isn't working as well as we would like to roundtrip between AE and PR. Would a dynamic link be the fastest option for us, or exporting the CineForm/4444 codecs from AE?

how to ripple delete and preserve marker locations

I've got a 30 minute video without about 15 marked areas that I plan to export.  I find that when I ripple delete or insert that my markers down the road don't keep there location on the timeline. any way to deal with that? (or is there a better way to keep track of marked areas for exporting)

Premiere Pro 2017 keeps crashing with color correction

Hello,

 

After the last update, it seems that when we go into color correction the program locks up and crashes. Gives error "Low Level Exception"

This is on a MSI with a SSD.

Help?

 

Sort of annoying paying for the program and it holding up our work flow. Please advise, quickly.

Multiple copies of clips are imported

Hi there

 

I've had this problem before but none of the previous safeguards seems to have worked this time. I've shot a long interview on two Sony cameras recording in AVCHD. The interview was shot in two parts with a break between. There are eight camera files on the hard drive, four from each camera, and all are different. I guess this is because the clip sizes went over 2GB so the cameras started new clips.

 

I placed the entire folder structure from the two cards into separate folders on my hard drive, then imported them through the media browser. In the footage bins in my project panel I see four clips from each camera. But 00000.MTS is exactly the same as 00002.MTS and 00001.MTS is the same as 00003.MTS.

 

I think this might be because of some automatic 'joining' of consecutive clips by Premiere Pro.This is all based on hazy memory from last time it happened. With only eight clips to sort out, this isn't a problem but it will bug me until I'm reminded what is happening here and if it can be prevented.

 

Joining the 2GB clips to the shorter second clips is useful but then importing the combined clips twice could get confusing. Any suggestions that help me better manage my media will be welcome.

Premiere Pro 2017 Keeps crashing at startup

I have been trying to install the app for a few hours now and I cannot solve it at all. It has been opened for less than a second before it crashes.

 

My laptop is Dell XPS 13, windows 10.

Ram 8 GB

with 64-bit

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200 CPU @ 2.20GHz

memory 128GB

 

Can you help me to solve this problem? I cannot use the Configure Switchable Graphics because I don't use AMD.

Mercury Transmit Issue

I'm currently working with a three monitor setup. Display 1 is a 4k monitor, Display 2 is a 21:9, and Display 3 is a 1080p. They are arranged like this:

Now what I'd like to do is have my main Premiere window on 1, my timeline on 3 and mercury transmit a full screen preview to monitor 2, but when I try to do that, the mercury transmit puts the preview in a small window right above my program monitor.

I've tried a couple things and what I've found is that if I have no panels open on Display 3, then the mercury transmit works perfectly.

And furthermore, if I switch from this workspace to my timeline on 3 workspace then the mercury transmit will continue to work perfectly until I minimize Premiere or click on another program. So if I switch to After Effects, when I switch back to Premiere it will go back to putting the mercury transmit above the program monitor like in the 2nd picture.

 

I've tried rebuilding my workspace from scratch to see if there was some problem with this specific workspace, but it had no effect. I've also tried reinstalling Premiere with no luck.

Putting Premiere's main window on 2 allows me to transmit to 1, but a transmit to 3 gives a similar result to Picture 2 above. Putting Premiere on window 3 causes a transmit to 1 or 2 to be in a weird spot between monitors.

 

It looks like any interaction with Display 3 just causes the mercury transmit to misinterpret where the other monitors are, maybe because of the resolution differences between the monitors?

Can't drag clips around in Timeline!! Help!!

Hey everyone, I've been on premiere for about 7 months now, fluent in Avid and FCP. For some reason, starting today, I can't seem to drag clips around in a project like I could before (and can easily do in every other program). I can't even drag a clip from the Source monitor straight onto the timeline. I can insert and overwrite, I can select the clip once it is on the timeline, but I can't drag and move it. Anyone else having this issue??

 

Working on iMac 5k 2015, Premiere CC 9.4
