Type tool / Essential Graphics Text not working.

$

Hi there! I'm trying to get this new Type Tool in Essential graphics to work, but I'm not getting it to work. (Premiere Pro 2017.1) Which really bums me out because this is exactly the type of change I have wanted for handling text in Premiere. Is there some setting I'm unaware of?

Here's exactly what I do:

1. I switch to Graphics layout.

2. I place the playhead over a clip, and select it for good measure. The clip shows up in the program monitor.

3. I select the "T" icon (TypeTool).

4. I click in the program monitor. A new clip named "Graphics" shows up on the timeline.

5. I try to write, but that just activates keyboard shortcuts. I.e. if I where to try to start writing "variety" I would get the Selection Tool, since that's mapped to V.

I've tried this many times, with no luck. Creating an ellipse or a rectangle work fine though. I can choose "New Item" in the Graphics clip an ellipse or rectangle shows up fine, but as before nothing happens when I press New Item->Text in the Graphics clip either. So regardless with what I've tried I'm still stuck with the old legacy titling window.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help!

Can't Auto Balance R3D

Hello
I haven't been able to find any information related to my issue.
I have had this issue for some time and never needed to fix it, but now I am working on a project with a lot of RED footage and this issue is adding hours to the work.
In the master clip settings there is a button labelled "Auto Balance" in the "White Balance" drop down option. When I click the "Auto Balance" button, a window pops up but the footage does not load into the window.

- I am running the latest version of Premiere Pro CC 2017, this issue was with previous versions as well (all 2017 and 2015 versions that I tried).
- I have a Maxwell Titan X with latest drivers, this issue was with previous drivers as well.
- I have the latest beta of REDCINE X PRO installed but I had the issue with the full release REDCINE X Pro as well.
- I am running Windows 10 Pro x64 with all updates, I had this issue all the way back to before installing any updates on the system.

Premiere CC2017 New Type Tool Error

Hello,

Every time I click the new type tool, in any project premiere gives me a lot of errors and reports. I am working in windows 10 with 32GB memory and a Geforce GTX 980 on an Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHZ

One time it gave an error listing a bunch of Fonts I have installed in my PC.

But generally the error that gives me the most is the following:

"A low-level exception occured in: AE.ADBE text (GPUVideoFitler::Render)"

"A low-level exception occured in: AE.ADBE text (GetFrameDependencies)"

This is very sad since this feature was the one I was expecting the most.

Solutions???

Lumetri Color LUTs not being applied to export via Media Encoder

Hi,

I'm having an issue where LUTs applied using Lumetri Color, both on an adjustment layer or the clip itself, aren't being applied to the final export if I export via Media Encoder. It works if I use the Premiere exporter, but it's not ideal as it means I can't use Premiere until an export finishes.

Since the new update, when I right click in my clip bin to import a clip, it goes into the general "project" folder, and not in the bin I created.  IE: Audio, into my Audio folder.  Thanks, ~ Gib.

H265 Codec Files - New Premiere is Crazy

So I just updated to the new Premiere CC2017.

And a new thing is occurring.

I edit with my files from my Samsung NX1 4K camera that makes the files in H265. On the last premiere versions everything fine. On this new one all the files are offline and once I relink them this message appears:

"The selected file does not contain video media used by clip references in one or more sequences. These video clip references will be deleted, and cannot be undone. Do you want to continue?"

But if I import that same clip I was trying to import there is video after all.

I already have bugs with the TypeTool not working (Previous Post) and now this and with a work to deliver in a few days.

H.264 export flash frame glitching

Hi everyone, hoping others have experienced this or Adobe Product Support can help us resolve this issue:

We have 17 (soon to be 34) crews operating for us shooting and editing News for TV broadcast.  We are experiencing glitches that look like flash frames on some of the exported material. The flashes appear to be a frame from a previous part of the shot being superimposed later in the same shot.  Two examples are below:

https://nine.cimediacloud.com/r/beNcMA

Fault at around 13 seconds

https://nine.cimediacloud.com/r/EkW0pn

Fault at around 20 seconds

Our system and workflow:

Acquisition

Sony PXW X200 camera

Codec XAVC L25

Format 1080/50i

Editing platform

Apple MacBook Pro with Touchbar, MacOS Sierra 10.12.4

Radeon Pro 460 4096MB and Intel HD Graphics 530 1536MB

Issue occurs on Premiere versions 2017.0.2 v11.0, Tanq and also the most recent update 2017.1 v11.0, Tanq

We have tried switching between Metal, Open CL GPU acceleration and Software Only.  No change was observed.

1920x1080

25 frames, Upper field first

Square Pixels

PAL

Main Profile, Level 4.1

VBR, 1 Pass

8Mbps target bitrate, 12Mbps max

We cannot replicate the issue on older MacBooks, which makes me think it is something in the interaction between Premiere and something in the Mac.

We've tried changing elements of the Export Preset including changing to CBR, using Maximum Render Quality, 2 passes, changing the Profile to High.  The problem persists, but is only present on some users.  IE - same setup, but it is a problem for some and not others.

This is a major issue for us, very keen to hear anyone's suggestions

I want the new PPro 2017.1 to work so bad but I am again let down. I am hoping some experts here may know the answers. I have been using PPro since before CS1 so I have seen many updates and am always cautious when upgrading to not do during any project and never delete the stable previous version. I am still using 2015.4 and have been happy with it as it is rock solid for me. I had problems with the first release of 2017 (same problem I am about to describe) and was hoping for a better result with the 2017.1

For starters, this is a brand new project so no old baggage. The project footage is from a Canon camcorder HF G20

So I load my footage in and do a multi camera edit with 2 angles and all goes smooth as butter. Decide to take care of some other business before I render out the final file so I save and shut down PPro. Come back two hours later and have lost the footage. Red Media placeholder! go to "find" the footage and it opens up right to the folder the footage is in (and still in) and i click it to link it and get the following error message

The selected file does not contain audio media used by clip references in one or

more sequences. These audio clip references will be deleted and cannot be

undone. Do you want to continue?

I also cant bring in that type of clip anymore with an audio track, only the video comes in. I am not having this issue with any of my Sony cameras?

I had the same issues with the previous release. Yes I have cleared the media cache. I am a bit stumped as I want to use the new version but am having trouble trusting it with anything at the moment. I am including a couple screenshots for reference.

FCP XML Import/Export issue.

I need to export an XML from Premiere, make changes to the exported XML file and then import the modified XML back into the same project, but positional keyframe data does not seem to import from a XML into Premiere. Scaling seems to work fine, but no dice on positional keyframe data.

The simplest test I've done so far to verify this problem is to export a timeline, that has motion on a couple of still images, x/y position, 2 keyframes one at the beginning and one at the end. I then import the new XML directly back into Premiere without making any changes to it and I loose all of the motion that I applied to those images. Scaling seems to work when I do the same test.

Is there a trick I can apply to the XML file to make the positional keyframes import properly?

The motion data seems to be there when I look at the XML file in a text editor.

Premiere Pro Set up & Export Settings for Vertical TV

Hello,

I am doing some freelance work and have a client who needs a video created to be played back on a Television that is set up vertically for a tradeshow. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction as to what the best settings would be to set up and export a video for a vertical television? I have found a lot of information for playback on an iPhone/iPad, but nothing for a TV.

Thanks!

Import stitched 360 video from Gear 360 Action Director

$

I've had a Gear 360 (2016) since last year and I've never had any problems importing stitched video from Action Director (1.0.0.2423) to Premiere Pro CC 2017 (Windows 10)

However, I bought the new Gear 360 camera (2017), which forced me to upgrade to the latest version of Action Director (2.0.1619.0).

Stitching still happens as it should in AD, BUT, when I attempt to import the stitched video (which plays fine in all of my VR viewers) into Premiere Pro CC, the media browser windows refreshes constantly while PP creates 10s and then 100s of 0KB *.pek files. I can wait for hours and the process doesn't stop. The only way to shut down the loop is to stop PP

PP tells me that there is no video information in the stitched files. Now, I've trawled the forums and followed all the possible remedies, including clearing and even deleting media caches files, re-stitching and re-importing the video files, but no matter what, PP refuses to import the complete files (just audio).

Action Director (2.0.1619.0) has no problem stitching files from the 2016 camera and PP has no problem import importing those files.

Action Director (1.0.0.2423) will stitch files from the old camera but will not stitch files from the 2017 camera (it produces distorted outputs, I'm guessing because of the slightly higher resolution on the new camera).

I've been at this on and on since yesterday and I've got no solution except to edit using Cyberlink's Powerdirector (which doesn't seem to have a problem with files from the new camera). I don't want this because I've paid for a bucketload of PP plugins (Mettle!) and I need them for this particular job.

So, does anyone know what might be going on?

Can I copy/paste audio track-mixer settings?

Hallo liebe Leute,

Danke!

Won't import my .mp4 file saying file format not supported.

I've been at this for a while and idk what to do. Idk if i need and update or what but i'm at a loss right now. I was trying to record some gameplay from my dazzle which i recorded with obs while having pinnacle studios in the background for it to capture the audio. It saves as an mp4 but why can't i drop it down or import my file into premiere pro???

Also I'm a windows 8.1 user.

I've heard theres different forms of .mp4's causing issues but i'm still nowhere. I need to see if this even works because i have to see if premiere pro can even deinterlace my video. I'm hoping i can find a solution to this.

Error Compiling Movie GPU/Lumetri with Premiere 2015.3

Yesterday I've updated to Premiere Pro CC 2015.3 (10.3.0 202). Now when I export a video which uses the lumetri color effect it randomly crashes when using GPU acceleration:

A week ago I updated to the lates NVidia driver. I successfully exported some videos with lumetri color effect and using the GPU (like I did before with a driver from last summer). I did a fresh install of the same NVidia driver two days ago (because I had a problem with the Windows 10 memory compression process where it was suggested to do a clean install of the graphics driver). I did not render videos after that. And yesterday I updated Adobe Premiere.

It crashes rather randomly. Even with the projects I rendered successfully a couple of days ago. It feels like it crashes faster if I do something else (browsing the Web, watching video, using GPU-Z ...)

In this thread Lumetri Color makes "Error compiling movie. Unknown error" all the time...  somebody writes that maybe the number of CUDA cores could be a problem. But the GPU usage is usually only at 10 to 50%.

From this article (Adobe Premiere CC 2015 CC 2014 CC CS6 CS5.5 CS5 Video Cards with CUDA Mercury Playback Unlock MPE Hack David Knarr ) it seems that the number of cores may not be the problem but maybe the size of the memory? It says 1 GB is minimum and it should be 2 for HD. And my GTX 570 only has 1280 MB.

I also found some benchmarks on this site. Regarding those newer/better graphics cards do not perform that better in real world premiere projects: Adobe Premiere Video Cards Benchmark Project vs. a Real Premiere Project- Written by David Knarr (the graphs do not start at zero with the real world projects).

Do you have any tips regarding my problem? Has anybody else a problem with the new version? Can I go back to 2015.2?

How do you set the default version of AU, SG, ME to open?

My multiple versions of all the ACC apps that I have to keep installed (as the forwards compatibility is so shocking) default to entirely random other versions of Speedgrade, Media Encoder and Audition when I try to move between apps from within Premiere. Is there a method of setting the version that each version versions to, please?

9th import causing massive CPU spike (in fullscreen only)?

$

0

I'm using PP_CC. I already have 8 imports (5 video, and 3 audio).

When I import any new media (video, audio, or even a picture), I can't see my interactions with my sequence unless the playback is actively playing. For example, I can grab the sequence cursor and scrub with it, and it'll adjust the playback window, but the sequence window is frozen until I hit spacebar to play the playback. If the playback is playing, I can interact with the sequence window no problem.

Normally, CPU usage is at 0-5% when paused, but once I import a 9th import, it spikes to 40-60% when paused.

I should note that this only occurs when Premiere is in fullscreen. If I actively switch to windowed mode, CPU usage drops back to 0-5%, the sequence window returns to normal, and all issues disappear. No other applications open. I've edited about 30 videos so far, and have never had this happen. I can't think of anything I'm doing differently.

I'm also using GPU acceleration with the latest GTX 1080 TI drivers (updated a few days ago, so I don't suspect they're the problem), 16 gigs of DDR4 RAM, and an i7-6600k which has had a stable overclock to 4.5GHz for over a year. I'm only editing 1080p 60fps video on a 4k screen, with playback set to full (as always). Usually have no problems.

Tried restarting both the program and my PC, but to no avail.

Once I delete the 9th import, it immediately returns to normal functionality.

Windows 10.

A workaround I'm using at the moment is to put it in "windowed mode", and just drag the window to almost fullscreen size. Hopefully this is a bug that was born with this project and will die with this project, because it's a pain in the ***.

Different FPS in one project?

Hey Guys,

I just recorded some Videos. Some of them are shot in 60fps and some of them in 30fps.

So how do i get rid of the jittering that occurs when i export the whole project with both fps sizes into a 30fps file.

Do i have to downgrade the 60fps files into 30fps files somehow? And if yes ... how can  do this? Do i have to do this before importing them into the project or can i do it while its in the project?

Thank you very much guys!

Render preview bar missing with cineform files?

Since last update, when I render a quicktime Cineform file, when I import it in my timeline, the render preview bar is indicating empty,

here's an example

https://i.imgur.com/HyXr9Ob.png

the yellow bars are the original clips on V1 and the V3 is the rendered file. I turned off the V2 to tell premiere to ignore rendering layer V2 and you can see where there's no clips on V1, V3 doesn't appear on the render bar at all. If I turn off V1 too, then the bar goes completely empty even if V3 is turned on.

Not a big issue but it drives me crazy it led me to think there's a missing file
