Encountering A Problem

$

Although I am relatively new to Premiere Pro CC, I had been working on a project and just today I had updated the software. Afterward, I converted it to the newest version and then I was met with some minor audio problems, but I thought I had managed to fix them, that the second part of my plea for help. Anyways, now whenever I try to play back the footage in the premiere pro it says that it is playing on the playback part of the video itself, nor am I even hearing anything at all. This project is relatively short with it being 2:57 and not much had gone into it aside from flashing text and various other audio files. This had all happened AFTER I had updated the app.

As for the audio part, after the update, I was met with MME Internal Error or something much like that, I couldn't recall the exact wording. But the point is that I was met with absolute silence from the video accompanying the frozen frames. After perusing around the help forums I then downloaded ASIOforall v.2 and I am still met with silence from the playback footage.

This is my current set up and I do record gameplay footage. I use OBS to record the footage at 60 FPS max quality (on the slider of it), and before I had never been met with issues from the clips. But you never know what may be the cause of these issues. As you can see, not much was done with the movie itself and was very much still in its "infancy".

Any help and or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you

Latency when working with essential graphics

So here goes. These are my specs:

Screen Shot 2018-04-03 at 2.28.54 PM.png

I am working in a project that includes several audio files, a couple layers of video files and a lot of titling, to give you an idea here is a small portion of my timeline:

Screen Shot 2018-04-03 at 4.24.11 PM.png

Now when I create a new layer of text I use the essential graphics panel, select a basic title, slide it in where I need it. This is where my problem starts. When I slide it in it takes several seconds for it to load. Once loaded, when I type into the text box I can complete my entire sentence and the text appears slowly. The latency is driving me nuts. Albeit I am not as well versed as some in Premiere and admittedly not a techie, I am desperate. At this rate, this project is going to take me years to complete. I've cleared caches, deleted junk from my desktop. My Macintosh HD has 374.65 GB of 500.07 GB flash storage available.

I was running cc2017 and just updated to 2018 hoping it would resolve the issue. It has not.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ... Please, please, please help.

Used Premiere all las week, as recent as Friday, no issues. Today, every time I drop media to create a sequence it crashes... no matter what the media is, even smaller files than the one I need to use. Working on 2012 MacBook Pro Retina, 2.6GHz Intel Core i7 with NVIDIA GeForce GT650M graph card on OS10.13.3. Premiere has been updated to latest. Importing an APR 442 1920x1080 file. Tried importing an mp4 and same thing. File imports fine, but when dropping in to create sequence, program crashes. Window pops up saying "serious error has occurred and Premiere needs to shut down. Help please!

Premiere Pro CC Bezier Point Masks Not Saving Correctly

$

I have been very carefully setting up masks to do a Gaussian Blur with bezier curves. Despite frequent saves I find that several of the points are not saved with all the effort down the drain. I have been using forward tracking with keyframes activated as well as stepping forward a frame at a time. Each time I adjust the mask just so and then save it. When I go back and review it, I'm finding random points missing, which ruins the mask.

What am I doing wrong?

MOGRT Problems

$

I downloaded what I thought would be a pretty straightforward MOGRT...just a chalkboard animation (File 181063956).  It's causing many problems.  I have an iMac with 16GB of RAM and a TB in free space.  Running Premiere 12.0.1.

1) When i want to play back in realtime, the render takes over 10 minutes to simply watch 210 frames/6 seconds of footage.  When I use one of your competitors templates in After Effects, they render in seconds.  This is not a problem with my machine.  Exporting also takes forever.

2) If my text contains anything more than the 9 characters that are default (Main Text), it gets cut off.  Even when I shrink the font.

3) When I first tried a MOGRT after seeing them at Max, I wasn't able to change the font on a free one.  I paid $20 for this and still can't edit the font.

Can someone help me with this?  I purchased thinking it would be very simple like the templates on Videoblocks and Pond5.

Thanks

Colour tab crashing Premiere Pro

Hi all, I have just updated to version 12.1 build 186 and my machine keeps crashing everytime I try to open the colour tab. Tried all the other tabs and they work fine, also tried to save a new layout. I did get a pop up about a new default workspace being created.

I really must learn not to trust these updates as there is always a problem, we pay a premium here in the UK and do expect it to be right before release. I love Adobe products but this is really annoying when you are in the middle of projects. Dont update in the middle of a project I hear you say, it's not often I'm not in the middle of a project.

Gracias, saludos.

Premiere Pro CC color / gamma shift on export - is a Premiere not Quicktime problem

$

I know this is a topic of major frustration for many of us - washed out colors and a very visible gamma shift when exporting out of Premiere Pro. From what I have seen on this forum, people post all kinds of solutions / explanations as to what could cause this problem. Many people think it' a Quicktime problem, some say it has to do with video card drives, or with checking "render as linear color space" or not.

I just did a round of major testing on my iMac running OS 10.12.5 and the latest version of Premiere Pro CC 2017 - and I have to say - nothing I do fixes it or makes any difference. Whatever I export - and that's the key here - Quicktime movies, TIFF sequences, stills - EVERYTHING has a washed-out gamma shift and desaturated colors.

When I take a screenshot of my media within Premiere Pro - colors and gamma of the resulting PNG are exactly as I see them in Premiere. If go through the EXPORT function and export a still image - the colors are faded and the gamma is washed out. And it doesn't matter what is clicked in the export window - maximum depth, linear color space... nothing makes a difference.

Here is another interesting thing I found - when I reimport these washed-out exports (stills or quicktime movies, doesn't matter), inside the Premiere Pro world they look perfectly normal. When I import the same washed-out exports into Final Cut Pro X, the washed out colors and gamma stay. So there must be something in these exports (hidden tags?) that Premiere adds and that it then uses to display the media correctly. Unfortunately every other app in my Mac universe doesn't do the same and is off dramatically.

The problem is - I can't just stay inside Premiere Pro. I have to send tmy cuts out and share them with clients. I need them to see what I see inside Premiere Pro.

Does anyone on the Adobe side have any insight into this? This issue has been going on for years on this forum. I cannot believe that we are still nowhere close to a solution.

Thanks in advance for any hint.

Markus

CC 2018 Window opens with controls outside of monitor screen

Hi,

After updating to PPro 2018 I have an issue with windows opening with the window controls outside of my monitor. I can see the bottom of the screen but have no way to drag it down or reposition it. This is on a multi monitor Macintosh. If it's a bin, I found if I right click I can get it to snap into the screen boundries. But if it's a control window such as Lumetri Color, as in the picture, it's off the screen and I can't get it to move down or drag or snap. Any tips?

This is the top of my display, you can see the Lumetri Color window bottom. No way to move it.

Hi.

I have a problem losing some color when exporting in Adobe Premiere. The color I can se in the preview window in Premiere are not matching the color I get when exporting. As you can se in the inserted picture it is a difference between Premiere, Quicktime and VLC.

Do someone have a answer for this and is it something I can do to get the same export colors?

Import Sequence not working after Oct 17 update

$

I have updated CC today. I'm sharing work with a colleague via importing sequences. This has worked perfectly until today, could be a bug to do with the new multiple projects feature?

Premiere opens the Import Project dialog as usual:

Import_Project.png

Then, as usual, I select the sequence I want to import:

Import_Premiere_Pro_Sequence_and_Import_Files.png

Click OK...

... and nothing happens.

We have tried to import sequences from updated and previous versions of CC. We used the Import... dialog as well as dragging and dropping from the Media Browser. We tried a different machine (MacPro 5,1 & iMac 5K Retina Late 2015), both running OSX Sierra 10.12.6

Please help! It's a live project and we'll loose a day's work if we have to revert to the last version of CC.

Thanks!

GH4/5 4K playback delay on 5K iMac

I run Premiere 12.0.1 on a 27" 5K maxed iMac.  Have been cutting a bit more 4K stuff from GH4 & GH5 lately and I’m finding a bit of a lag/delay in playing from timeline and loading current frame at playhead.

I’ve found this has happened in the past if I’m using the drive I’m editing on for transferring data etc. at the same time…so I’m assuming maybe it’s a drive issue?  Once play begins, it’s generally smooth both on the app interface preview and also via the Blackmagic intesity preview on the LCD monitor.  Delay is still there if not using mercury transmit to Blackmagic.  Can be a 2-3 second delay between pressing play/space and the footage actually playing.

Drive issue or something else??

If it is to do with drives...

I currently have one (spinning) media drive in a Thunderbolt 2 enclosure (along with other drives for general files, masters etc.).  My question is if I was to try to increase read speed by say striping 2 (preferably) or 3 drives in the enclosure as RAID 0…should this be any quicker than just using a single solid state drive as the media/edit drive?  Probably the question is more about 2 RAID 0 spinning drives vs 1 SSD.

I'm sure I have the hardware to play this media without these painful delays!?!

Unusual MXF Video/Audio ID

$

Summary: Video and Audio ID for 30 second clip are much larger than usual, starting at 512 rather than 2. Does anyone know why and how to change it?

Hello Forum!

Long time reader, first time writer.

I've been working in Premiere Pro 2017 1.2 V11 on an iMac to try and replicate a client's 30 second video.

I've been using MediaInfo to match the specifications as close as I can, but there seems to be something unusual about the Video and Audio IDs. Each ID seems to be exorbitantly bigger than what it should be.

The following is the MedaInfo page for the export:

Screen Shot 2017-11-06 at 2.09.45 pm.png

The video I'm trying to replicate, as well as most other examples I've found, start at "2" and increase by 1, rather than 256!

The other specs are either a perfect match or very close to being.

These are my export settings, which all look like they match the specs of the original:

Screen Shot 2017-11-06 at 2.20.53 pm.png

Screen Shot 2017-11-06 at 2.21.07 pm.png

I've tried exporting different clips from the sequence, in multiple codecs, but it seems that they always come through with these same numbers. The only time the ID numbers matched the client's, all the other specifications were wrong.

Does anyone know if it is possible to reduce them back to single digits and how? Am I missing something really obvious or is this not even a problem?

Please let me know if you need any more information, any help would be greatly appreciated.
